Cool Theory! It'd be interesting if they did this, but I have a feeling that they aren't changing their current formula anytime soon. I agree that they should just mix the two together, Tears of the Kingdom was a great example of a bit too much freedom lol, I didn't like how you could cheese the puzzles so easily.

I like to think that the world of both of BoTW and ToTK are a long long descent from the og Hyrule Warriors. If u know what happens, u know, but basically all 3 of the timelines converge in one world and then split apart again. It’s my idea that assets and certain people from different timelines inadvertently stayed in the Hyrule Warriors world. Legends and stories from all 3 timelines would spread, explaining why there’s places, stories, and even species’s like the Rito that co-exist with the Zora despite the fact that canonically, that wouldn’t make sense from any of the timelines points of view

Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure that totk a botw dont take place in a seperate timeline. Im pretty sure that theyre just saying that botw and totk take place so far foward in the timeline that no matter what happends in all timelines the outcome is still the same, that outcome being the two games in the wild era. (Botw and totk)

Seeing as that makes no sense, I'm gonna say that they have their own timeline, regardless of what Nintendo says.
