Thank you for the video. Now it's very clear to me that I should give up on trying record audio on my phone. :)
+Doityourself Gadgets can't you just buy a mic splitter
krishna maverick you can go three ways attaching a professional microphone to a smartphone, you can either go to the extreme of what the video here says or you can get an adapter from either Walmart a Radio Shack for $8 its called a TS to TRRS adapter or you can spend about $65 and do it the more professional way which is, you can buy a Saramonic Smartrig XLR audio adapter and then buy an XLR audio cable that has a male plug on one end and a female plug on the other end.. you can look on RUclips and find exactly what I'm talking about..
LOLLLLLLL
Krishna Mohan they sale these splitter pre made on Amazon. This is just the I have the parts already way of doing it.
hahahahahahah
Hi!
Is it possible to connect a dymanic microphone (ex Shure SM58) to an android device this way?
So freaking accurate in less than 3 mins. Thank you very much, man. So great.👍👍
Hi, using the standard Voice Recorder app on my Galaxy s4 phone I can record in stereo. One mic is on the top of the phone and the other on the bottom. Do you think its possible to connect a stereo mic (or 2 mono mics) so I don't have to use the inbuilt mics ? Admittedly though the sound from the inbuilt mics isn't so bad...
Brilliant video! Thank you for your time and willingness to share your expertise! Loads of people saying it's hard! More money than skill. ?
NoAxe
Thanks! if I understand well the video, I can only record mono with the external mic ?
Can i connect only a microphone to the audio jack with the phone still using the earphone or speaker as audio out? Or would it automatically assume there is a headphone plugged in (which there wouldn"t)?
YAY! I finaly found how to connect my mic to laptop! thanks a lot man!
how to find ground left and right wire in 3.5mm audio cable??
Great video! Will the external microphone also work when recording video? In the standard Android camera/video app, you can't choose where you want the sound input to come from...
Do you need a certain camera app, where you can choose an external microphone or will it just work?
I have the Nexus 6... Thanks!
You need a app called Camera to change it to external
Can I use this like a wired speakerphone? Will the speaker & mike work in tandem if I connect to an external amplified speaker. Will I have feedback issues?
sir , can I connect bm800 condenser microphone on my Moto E4 plus .... ? please reply.. I want to use this for song recording with guitar...
I don't need to do that but I learned so much from it!!! I didn't knew that this was how a mic cable works
Very creative. But you can also use a two way audio splitter that plugs into your head phone jack. Then plug a mic in one jack and headphones in the other jack.
True! Make sure to get the right adapter for the right standard!
Straightforward informative and well made. Very grateful you were willing to take the time to make this :)
Thank you for your kind comment!
Thanks for your Video
but, will there be any decrease in quality of audio if we use a long wire (5 Meter)
Regards
I am more confused 0-0
Thank you for your video, but do you have any idea how it could be done on a trrRs? SonyZ2 does have 5 pins instead of 4. As I only have 4 pins connectors handy, I don't know how I could be doing.
Thanks for your help.
***** if it can be of any use for someone, i did figure out that it worked with a classic trrs on the sony z2.
hi everyone... any tips i need to control the gain of my mic (samson go mic).... would you an apps that offer gain control of the mic ?
Very informative. Thanks
I read somewhere that Android phones made anytime after 2012 use the CTIA Apple plug standard. Thoughts? I have a new Android LG G3 phone and am desperately looking for an external Mic to use for my Ocarina performing. What ever I get must tolerate a wide range of pitch without peaking. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated! :3
Thank you for your help! :) I did actually learn that my phone supports On-The-Go USB so I can use my Blu Snowball mic with the help of a special cable! I'm so happy!
What about using a Jack Adapter converter?
dis is really gud rahul
would you be able to record in mp3 on your smart phone?
what's the design of xiaomi remi phone jack?
Brilliantly put together video. Under 3 minutes. I love it. At 2:43 this doesn’t appear to be an XLR microphone. Please anyone, will this same procedure work with a heavier Pro Grade XLR mic. EG AKG D321S. Thanks in advance for the advice.
Do audio jack 3.5mm to female usb work?..usb microphone is quiet hard for me connecting to phone
i don't know that if my mobile uses omtp or ctia. can i just connect it anyway amd then swap the microphone connections of it didn't work..?? would that harm any of my device..??
Perfect video. However, there are some smartphones that don't work with that. Usually Samsung phones, when you record video from external microphone, it shows on the display "recording from headphones".
Other phones (Xiaomi, Huawei), they continue to record video from the embeded microphone of the phone.
Hello there! I really need your help. I watched the video several times but couldn't figure out one thing. There are 5 type cables inside the trrs 4 pole headphone cable. Which color cable is Ground? which one is for left and right? which one for mic?
I hope you would kindly reply, Thanks in advance. +Doityourself Gadgets
Help me!i got an old aiwa microphone with only one band in its pin,the problem is it is connecting to my phone but not recording on my pc
awesome info!
Excellent. Thank you.
Hi , great video indeed . It is helpful ... may i know if i can connect a microphone to my S6 ? I saw a microphone with 3.5mm jack .... Sony F-V120
Thanks A lot ... So is it mean, with adapter... It can work?
Any idea what lenovo vibe x3 audio jack has? I tried iRig Cast mic, but the quality from that was pathetic and too low. I do not understand why. Tried with lenovo recorder app, iRig app and video mode in camera. That too, in front camera video mode, the iRig mic input was not taken at all.
I did push hard as much as possible. That was not an issue. Finally found, the default app did not allow external microphone selection. Tried with open camera which took up, but only issue, with external mic, the FPS is like 26, and video and audio becomes out of sync. Now have to solve this issue.
Which microphone is the best on samsung note 3?
Excellent! Thank you!
very informative..thank you
I got one of those splitter cables with a mic socket and headphone socket but when I try to record anything my device is still recording with the internal mic,its a kindle fire with recording studio lite I'm stumped
i have done with the both way, OMTP and CTIA and it's work on iphone 4s and lenovo a6000, but it's not work on my lenovo p70, as the information lennovo p70 have 2 microphone hole, the main one is on the botom and the secondary microphone is beside the headset slot, can you please give me an alternative way to resolving my problem? please reply my comment
thanks for reply anyway, my laptop is compitable with the hardware and also some smartphone that work correctly, butu my lenovo p70 still not work on it. i just try another normal microfon (haedset) and that's work prety good, now i don't have any solution yet.
Thanks for sharing.
What if I use a 3.5mm audio splitter and put the external mic's jack into the splitter(microphone) and the splitter's jack into mobile? Will it work? Please reoly
It could work if you use the right splitter (the splitters also have two standards)!
or simply just plug it in and find out.
Sir Squeaks A Lot haa
😆
great video man
Very good video but how can i do if i want to put two mics to one smartphone for binaural stereo recording? Thankyou
That is really interesting. What is the sound quality like if you record audio using a phone like that?
Would this work with a lapel mic for dedicated audio recording? Do you think speakers would have to be plugged in for it to register that the mic is plugged in too?
***** Great. Thank you.
Jayd Lawrence basically it will be defined by the software and hardware you use on your phone how high the bitrate and Hz are set up and how high the Hz can go technically. So if you use a smartphone with some really fancy audio chip it might be as good as a computer in a semi-professional recording studio.
Nice video btw!
***** You're welcome! I really love your Videos a lot of things were very useful! Thank you in return for making such great videos!
got the concept, thankyu
Can i play iRig Pre with Nokia 6 androyd smartphone ??
Thank bro for your help. God bless your
Yeah.. 👍
Thank you Very Much.
You didn great help without wasting any moment
No Problemo
@@Doityourselfgadgets You are welcome☺
How record on phone with 2 mic external? Thanks.
very good information
Does this also work for a camera? Our camera has aux, but the microphone we are willing to buy is USB.
Clear and concise very well done!
Thanks!
@@Doityourselfgadgets i have my multimeter broken, do u remember what color is the mic cable? since i need to swap the ground to mic..
Thanx 4 posting...++
nice info, thanks a lot ya
Wow looks nice
☆ Do you have any idea what could be the issue if my mic connects to phone fine (TRRS adapter) > it is recognized and starts recording.. but then randomly just cuts out completely after a few seconds or a loud noise (and I have to re-plug the adapter) ...Is it some sort of electrical current issue (overloading the TRRS?). Nothing in my android software/settings seems like it would interfere. 🔥 But if you have any ideas to try to troubleshoot/determine this... please let me know!!
Huh never heard of something like that before! Maybe a conductivity issue with the audio jack? Broken cables that short circuit? Sorry I can't help!
Thumbnail easy af
Seeing video I'm not doing
May I know if what's apps that I need to download. Because I used Smart phone device but my Microphone is not working.
aren't there some ready-to-use transition jacks?
so,I'll end up using the mic as mono? I have a sony stereo mic,any ways on using it as stereo.
Well,that sucks.
Is there a video recording app for android that can use an external microphone?
Will this work with MIA1 ?
If i'm getting this right we only have Mono recording on a smartphone, right ?
brilliant thank you
I subscribed u allready
who else thought of jen when they heard the intro?😂
Hers and Pats channel are dead now😂
wow thanks the fucking math equation is awesome tide along with a science project you're such a big help
How to connect to wireless microphone into amplifier using android phone, what can I do for that
could this work with a dual headphone jack(headphone splitter)
Doityourself Gadgets thanks
Sir actually i came here to know that
if i plug a external microphone to my Phone and audio must be come from the phone speaker but sound must be recorded or taken from plugged microphone at simultaneous time
is it possible? if yes then how
i want to make it. Plz reply me
Thanks for the video. What do PC's usually have? CTIA OMTP?
thanks for your concern :)
Hey. I have another question. Will the microphones for PC work on Android (xperia) if we use a device to split microphone and audio on the phone?Like one male and two females.one female for the earphones and the other for the microphone.
Doityourself Gadgets thanks man 😁
Wow!!!Really interested. I think I’ll be your new friend and thanks for your watching my videos.
This is too hard :(
waouhh... the best ideas
nice one
It is the same with Spliter?
Pau TV yes using an audio splitter prevents you from having to do it like it's shown in the video. He basically just made a home made one, but you can buy real nice ones from sweetwater.com for like 5 6 bucks
1:42 why there re 5 cables and 4 metal plates in the head ?
If i remember correctly a GND wire was split? Should be somewhere on the drawing...
Or buy the split cable, pink and green.
So basically I'm learning engineering here. Not my cup of tea.
Is the microphone found worldwide
are these mono or stereo 'sockets?.....
Audio is stereo but microphone is mono!
Thanks
So, that's why most of the headphone do not work with my android. Maybe it has an iphone standard jack.
Thanks for helping me out! 😊
Thanks!!!!
danke so sehr
Does Taizen os support external mics?
It's ok... Thank you... :)
I heard that most mics wont work on Samsung devices as Samasung phones wont recognise it unless it has a very high resistance (more than 1000 ohms or something)
you think they could standardize the standard???
Heh
Man, so easy.
+Doityourself Gadgets Could you please point out which cable is what. I mean what is the green
cable for? and the blue two red and one copper cable for? I really
really need to know this. please please reply.
+Tasnuva Raya i can help
Lot's of additional information haha but honestly there is an easy solution shown in a topicwise similar video from "
TheRenderQ" in which he explains that buying a simple inexpensive Split-Adapter (one that splits the Audio-Mico-Combo on your phone into Audio only and Mic only) will help you out. Simply buy that adapter and plug your microphone into the right plug. Done. Altough seeing this video i think one might also has to buy the right adapter because of stupid differences in company standards...
How about TRRS? That is the only standard I see Android phones going by. Color me confused.
Could you use a OTG cable?
***** Oh okay
Nice
thanks a millions
Can it work on any smartphones sir?
Gosh this guy smart
Ok very interesting, now i get why my classic 3.5 mic doesn't give me any sound on my Samgung Galayxy S4 :)
irlrp Galaxy S4 uses CTIA, not OMTP.
I wanted to do my essays on my phone, not become an electrical engineer
I know right?
Hasil akhir yang bagus
