- Drew visits Britain's biggest private home where he is stumped on negotiations, finds some cool head carvings and discovers the actual tartan of Elvis Presley.
Drew Pritchard, the owner of one of the UK's largest decorative salvage yards, is always on the lookout for new items to replenish his stock, and he has no qualms about scouring the countryside for them. This series follows Drew as he searches for old and lost pieces of history throughout the world, including some opulent estates. But locating them is only half the battle; Drew must persuade the owner of each object to sell it to him for a good price, and then it's off to the scrap yard, where his team restores it to its former glory before selling it for profit.

The three painted wood pieces look amazingly simular to three of the Marx Brothers harpo,Groucho, chico.....and I think you were spot on when you said they were done by recovering soldiers.
Tat
At 24:50 I believe that the three carved heads are The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack... icons of an American Automotive Aftermarket retail chain that was founded in Philadelphia in 1921... They have iconographic images that resemble these carvings.
lol. naw dude.
I binge watch this show so I think maybe I should get on my phone and hit the like button. Not that you folks need it just that I really like the content. You all are amazing from Drew and his wife to the employees to the talent of the people who do the restorations... CHEERS
Why Didn't Drew Take The WWI Hats & Helmet? They Really Made The Trio !
I thought that as well! Didn't like how they just got thrown aside, thought they complemented the heads quite well!
Take a picture and frame it.
No, they're more artistic in their shapes
I loved the haggis story.
The best show on air today! I binge watch theses episodes all of the time Also the people are amazing
I just subscribed to your program. I love all the fabulous estates you visit and treasures you find and restore you & your wife and team off craftsmen to fabulous restoration on pieces that need TLC 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽bravo Tom & Rob
From AU I admire Drew, he is very honest, has respect for peoples attachment to things and as in the example of the sample books he isn't a pillager he has huge respect for history.
I've only met one dealer who came close when I asked the true value of a marble top, walnut chest of drawers from a steam ship, I got a true valuation,
As Drew continues on he will find a ready welcome pretty much anywhere,
Best show ever , please continue uploading, thanks
yes but they are repeats from 5 years ago
I loved the baskets. I have been looking for one for my living room (for extra throw pillows and blankets). They had lots of character and were just the right size.
Great loved it, so interesting. But then I always love your shows. I learn so much from it
Props to Gavin for how nice he made the incubator cabinet look. He should get a raise or promotion, or at least a pint of ale for that.
Love to watch!! Great 👍 finds!
Very beautiful and very wonderful.. my heartfelt greetings.
Greetings. It is with great pleasure that I learned a lot from the information that is presented in all the videos that I follow closely and with unparalleled enthusiasm. I wish you success and progress in your work.
Thanks for the upload of one I have not seen.
Fascinating!
Willow baskets that size usually get turned int fireplace logs!
Wonderful Show!
I'm quite surprised that this show doesn't have more subscribers.
Some stunning tartans in that factory, I'll need to visit
Haggis story. I don't believe Tee didn't know what haggis really is.
Fantastic program!!!
Wow!! What a beautiful home 😳👍
the old record player looked like an old answering machine. thus the phone jack and it stopping when you take off the top. I'm sure if they could play the record it would say something about business hours or the like.
Oh My! I bet it's easy to get lost in it!
I want those battleship doors
If I had stuff in attics, storage etc just sitting there - would love to sell it all. If not on display , what is the point keeping it in storage to degrade?
Drew: My favourite was that statue on the staircase. I've never seen one thàt good!
.
Also Drew: Is that plaster or marble?
The bigger the house, the less there is to buy!
hahahaha mainly farmed for their fur hahahahaha
I thought the hagus only had three legs and was around the mountain clockwise because if he went counterclockwise he fall downhill. At least that’s what my Scotty’s husband always told me.
41:27 I think that machine use to play music or a message about the store on hold when you had someone on hold?
Underestimated the ship hatch doors. Un-restored $175 each full Restoration $600 to $700 each easily.
It's a show mate, don't worry..
20 quid for scrap
Thanks for the upload! x
if i were the owner of Wentworth Woodhouse, i would definitely give the manager a proper dental treatment ;-)
those made pillars in the entrance like the underground cistern in Istanbul
Anyone know why antique and history programs and people refer to these grand houses as piles. If someone said to me, " Hello Sir I must say you have a fine pile here". I'd tell them what to go and do with themselves.
IM WITH T. ON YOUR DINNER‼️
Love your videos. I think you are the luckiest man in the world. I wish I could travel and purchase and sell treasures like you
Too bad these houses have gone down so but lovely to see them. Very good show
14:33 he's owned a few mini's, all of them dogs, but they are the best cars ever made????
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 herd of haggis.
I wonder what Drew would have thought if he had seen Wentworth Woodhouse in 1947 with a hideous, vindictively instigated opencast coal mine (of the most useless brown coal) in the front lawn - absolute cultural and social desecration, absolutely ruined a once prosperous thriving estate and decent employer, From House & Heritage, by David Poole: " There was little doubt that the National Trust proposal had been rejected by Manny Shinwell himself, as he had also rejected a plan by Mr Joseph Hall, president of the Yorkshire Mineworkers’ Association, to obtain the coal by other methods. The miners themselves, conscious of their local inheritance, had pledged themselves, to no avail, to make good the loss if the scheme could be abandoned. Their pleas fell on deaf-ear, but Shinwell was able to appease them by considering a speedy restoration of the land and possible financial assistance..." Right... And they believed a politician. And, aye, don't think it couldn't happen again. How the present owner will ever restore the poor place to its rightful glory I can not imagine - just hope the Restoration Gods are with him...
Добрый день . Вероятно эти головы с разными головными уборами высовывали над окопом, что бы проверить , как стреляет противник.
The record player is an early alarm system. Calling the police upon a breakinn.
those heads are yukky I can't believe anyone would even want them .
The heads are made to stack one on the other.
That JR Bauman form cant Drew's restoration team remove the pencil marks ? I'll give then a tip how to do it with an eraser
Unbelievable!
Haggis herds that look like dachshunds with hedgehog faces, huh. Even this Murrican wouldn't fall for that one. Might even eat it, but not in a posh presentation like that! (Makes me wonder: would stuffing haggis into Cornish pasty pastry count as fusion food? ) My guess on the three heads: Roosevelt, Churchill and..... Stalin?
OF course he was playing with his buddy about the haggis. Silly presentation, but the bits of orange is a good addition. I've had good haggis and can recommend it, but skeptical of the canned stuff.
@@katehenry2718 Canned haggis .. uhmmm no. Things I never wanted to know existed.
Heard of Haggis?
Immer toll,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks like it's a Village.
Was that record player an early answering machine? Hmmmm ~>
Makes sense
Oh yes T haggis is not an animal you know Drew was taking the mick
If he has Elvis' tartan then why not sell swatches at Graceland?
I would have brought those battleship doors for 200.00 $$$ That guy retoreing that hose is a waiste of time and money???
What IS that record player thing???
Is that bloke in Glasgow John Sebastian's love child ???
build a frame and put the ships doors on the incubator and you have a unique piece of furniture that looks industrial and makes an interesting talking piece.
Mini Alex Issıgonis from Izmir Turkey where I now live!
❤❤❤
REAL FANS attention Please, is there any footage of the ship doors on display in the chips shop?
He did
He who has no past has no future
💖💖💖💖💖
Please post new episodes I’m begging you please
Where is T?
Watch the whole show.
3 adds still no show
👁✌️👁
The fact that you fix stuff up and / or make something else out of this junk makes it worth you looking I suppose , but it looks like he wants you to buy his rubbish before he orders a skip bin , I would just say thanks for the tour , seeya later .
This guy is not very smart. You don't buy the ship's doors for 150 and then sell it on for the same amount.
He was proving a point to his wife to get out of the dog house
Sorry, but not correct. There is a building in Vienna, built in the 20s of last century, called the "Karl Marx Hof", with a facade of one kilometer. It is a block of flats.
Sounds like a shithole
I worked in retail and sales. This guy buys way to little to even have a show compared to others that spend up to 30 thousand in one visit in real life. This show is just too boring to watch people who don't want to sell a thing, but just want publicity for their own gain. At least I know where NOT to shop!
Appritantly he has a rather large popular posh shop in London. If you know ao much why don't you have a Show? Must be an American that knows sooooo much about everything.
@@sheilaghbrosky4150 Americans don´t understand sarcasm.
This is an earlier season - you can see his buying style change over the years. Now he is trying not to buy too many things. When he was really just starting out he'd buy way too much junk. He's quite willing to take things and restore them.
In his later shows he's much quicker at buying and he buys several things at a time. He avoids things to restore, which eats all the profit. There is no way he'd have a guy spend a day repolishing an incubator cabinet.
This is a repeat...again
So ...?
