- The North Texas Crime Commission explained why by law it could not give reward money to a husband and wife whose 911 call helped catch a kidnapping and sexual assault suspect.

Fact's...
Kudos to the man who gave them $5,000 of his own money. And to the Company that contributed to this couple. They went far and beyond what an average citizen would do. And All Praises go to this couple. Thank God for People like them in this World. Thank God for the donations. They Absolutely deserve the reward money. For getting a horrific criminal off the Street. Crime Stoppers you should be ashamed of yourself and your policy. Enough said Period!
Calling 911 was the right thing to do in this case to catch the criminal, when you don't have the time to find the tip line and time is of the essence. Rules are made to be broken with exceptions and common sense.

That was a dumb reason to withhold the money from them in the first place. Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I thought the whole point of Crime Stoppers was for citizens to help law enforcement take dangerous fugitives off the street and this couple did exactly that. Now the NTCC can give the generous donor who gave the couple the $5K his money back.

@@facingeast7956 Okay, pay attention. The reward Crime Stoppers offered to help catch the fugitive was $5,000, was it not? I never said anything about (or even remotely close to) the couple only deserved $5K or about the donor not giving it from his heart. I'm sure he did but regardless the issue was, he gave them the money because Crime Stopper unfairly refused to. My point was because Crime Stoppers withheld the money from them when they should not have and the man gave them the money instead they should reimburse the man the $5,000.

I am so happy that these people and companies came together and gave the family this rewards. It is ridiculous crime stoppers did not give them that money. If you read the announcement it says call 911 or crime stoppers. The word or says call or the other. I am very happy they got involved. Those two babies will never be the same especially the baby girl. My heart and prayers go out to them. May God cover and protect them forever.

My thing is crime stoppers will turn the information over to 911 anyway. They have no authority to arrest or investigate. So because they skipped the middle man they don’t get the reward. 🤷♀️🤦♀️

I'm glad that this family was given an altogether $6,000.00 plus kids were able to go to a park with their kids just for doing the right thing. Crime Stopper should be ashamed of themselves however they should be paid more since they were blasted on T.V. You could tell the family really needed the money.

Crime stoppers is a private business. They claim the warrant money and give 1/3 to the callers. It’s for profit. The warrant money should go to the 911 caller if it makes an arrest and conviction
I'm super happy someone in a good position donated them that money. These people did the right thing, and not everyone knows who or where a reward might be posted at. They did the right thing and deserve that reward even though they didnt call the rightnphone number. Silly law.

just my two cents about this. Not offering the reward to the couple doesnt look good for Crime stopper at all. And would discourage some from reporting a crime.
