Talk about a walk down memory lane. R.I.P. Bobby Hull & Stan Mikita. They were my hockey heros growing up. I remember every time I ever met them (from being 5-6 years old until being close to 50). They were always so nice and made me feel like $1M. I am fortunate enough to own a Northland Mikita and Savard. I will never give those up. Great great video! Thanks
That‘s definitly one of my favorite video from you! I L❤VE to hear pros talking about their twigs… Great insight and nice to see the old models!! Thank you!!!
18:00 The "Soo Dual" curve your Dad is talking about here is actually what Pavel Datsyuk used as well! A fairly straight curve that went ever-so-slightly backwards (RH) before finishing out with a mild curve towards the mid-toe on the LH side.
Always here for u, today is a new day and tomorrow is too! Just all little opportunities for growth no matter how good or bad the situation is, sometimes when it’s a bad week it’s even better than a good week because you learn a lot!!!
Don't care if your dad was playing against kids, averaging nearly 4.5 goals a game is nuts. Hope he is willing to do some more videos, I can tell he has a million great stories from his career.
That Walt curve is the p77 Coffey curve. Being a former pro shop manager and equip manager. .. this video is like hockey porn. That fiberglass on those blades was a bitch when you heated up the blade to manipulate the curve. It would always break the fiberglass seal. Sorry for the long message.. this video really hits home.
@Bubzp11 I also wanted to say that I'm sure you pops is so proud of his kids! Hey on another note..I heard Bruce boudreu talk about when he was coaching they would keep track of guys heart rate in practice through heart rate monitors to see if they were slacking off etc. Have you in your time in the national league ever had an organization track the players like that and if so what was that experience like pal? Keep up the great job and also passing along your view on life I believe you are really helping your viewers! Stay safe and well brother. Dan
Another fascinating video, thanks man! Have you ever considered playing in the KHL? I have been watching a lot of interviews in which former players recount their experiences over there and it seems like it could be quite interesting. You'd probably tear it up, too! Have a great weekend!
when did bauer start getting big into sticks? I noticed not one Bauer.....I was born in 1960 and am from the Soo also (#99 went to my high school one year behind playing with Hounds)...keep up great work
yeah I think for us it was more to keep us low and have the puck out more to help us skating... the higher the lie the more the toe points up when skating full out unless u stand straighter
Thanks; that makes a lot of sense! My buddy Odie plays in the Del, and we always debate lie and stick length because of how dynamic and fluid the game is now.
Yah i know, I didn’t kno you’re still getting paid by a team, or are you looking to play on a team. Sorry don’t watch every vid if it’s been stated. Figured u were retired

Man, really enjoyed this video. I could listen to your dad talk hockey all day. Those type of sticks are what my brothers and I had growing up.
So sick, glad you enjoyed him! ill bring him on more then!
53 year old here...the Sherwood PMP 5030 brings back a lot of memories and in the beer league I play in now, some players still use them.

This week has been brutal. Thanks for coming through, man, I appreciate what you do

I'm a 58 yr old goalie and collect and still use only vintage gear, including wood sticks. Awesome video!
Right on!

Great stuff. I'll see if I can find a stick curve that will help my kid hit the net more. I think Fred would like that too.
Thanks For This Video Brendan !
Your Dad's a good guy and hockey player !!
I definitely like these twig videos , keep'em coming !
Cheers Bud 🍁🏒🥅😎👍🌴☀️
More to come!

Cheers Bud 🍁🏒🥅😎👍🌴☀️
135 goals in a season! Your dad was a beast!
And that was like 4.5 goals a game!
Crazy!!
Excellent video. Those Canadien sticks were a favorite.
The best!

Sure is!
Dad does the back of the hand slap too 7:00
HAHAHAHAHA
Another great video!
Cheeeeers
I was a Montreal stick guy growing up. It’s a shame that the wood sticks aren’t really being made anymore

Good question!
The reason the center line is checkered is because TV was black and white and that is what designated the center line on TV
That striping was to make the stick recognizable. Keep in mind back in the day TV was black and white
Ah yeah was wondering that
Pops was on a heater in 87-88 😮Mario numbers…holy smokes
hahaha crazy!
Tommy L played for the Blackhawks as well
The Louisville will my stick of choice. it was so light and had good flex! sticks now are so boring.
Why does your dad recommend lie 4 or 5? Is it all about skating posture? Retail sticks are mostly lie 6 now 😞

The old sticks look much shorter.
Yeah a lot
Current pro?
Sure am. last 8 years!

@@homemadepecanpie Can't find the information either. Maybe he's talking with clubs in Europe right now.
You boys looking to add a ringer to your beer league roster?🤣
Been saying this haha for a content creator to come play a game on my men’s league team on Long Island
