    I have the Tornado v3 pioneer and so far its pretty great. Its essentially a combination of the feeling that you get from moyu's rs3m v5 and a gan cube like the 11m pro or Icarry S, which makes it great imo.

    • @JaysonPL
      @JaysonPL 4 месяца назад +2

      Though just like the statements you've made to the tv3, I feel like it can be uncontrollable at times, especially when, for some reason, I cannot turn the cube probably. I have yet to try the wrm v9 and if I were to buy one which one should I get?

      @@JaysonPL If you have the money, the 20-magnet ball core is the best. The ball-core is also great, and if you're on a budget the standard is still a really good cube (avoid the maglev though, it's not worth the extra price). 20-magnet ball core is definitely the best out of them though

    • @UK_Cuber

      Yeah I agree. The Tornado can be slightly uncontrollable but it's still a great cube. And I also think that the 20 magnet ball core is the best WRM V9!

      @@UK_Cuberthe other big downside of the v3 are the magnets. It can sometimes get pushed inside the corner piece and we would need to take the plastic off. It is annoying and something we need to be careful at while doing. I messed up a lot and made the corner piece very loose when I tried to put it back and it made me have to use glue. But it is till a very good cube nonetheless, and probably even better than the gan 14.

    Hey, about that catching of the tornado that you speak, I also had it. The thing is that, (if it is the flagship or pioner version), one of corner magnets, the ones related to the core, may have come off, resulting in that wierd catching. To solve it you just have to open the cube, find the detached magnet, that propably is attached to one core magnet, and stick it with glue to the corner missing it. Hope it helped.

    Both great cubes and I'm not surprised that the battle was so close. I mained the Tornado V3 for a while but switched to the V9 Special Edition when it came out (not a big fan of maglev and prefer springs). I personally don't think the tensioning system from MoYu is a big downside, I'm very used to it and it's simple.

    For me the Tornado Pioneer V3 wins by a fraction because of its overall performance, control and feel even though I have had the same problem with 2 of them. One of the magnets & spring coming off a probably because of week plastic around it catching and breaking. The V9 is very close though, a bit less controllable at times but a great cube. The V5 is also great cube for the price and seems a bit more controllable than the V9. It's not quite as good in other areas but may suit some better. There's something to suit everyone and plenty of choices 👍

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah definitely. Even for me it's really close between these two cubes and either one of them could be better than the other dependent on your preferences. I haven't tried the V5 yet but a lot of people are saying it's really good so that might have to be the next cube I try!

      @@UK_Cuber Yep. You should also check out the DaYan GuHong Pro M (Maglev) sometime. I got the 56mm version and after set up it turns really well, it has a bouncy feel and is smooth turning. It doesn't feel as premium but it's another well performing priced cube 👍

  • @eeaaaeaeae
    @eeaaaeaeae 4 месяца назад

    i think the tensioning system isn't really that important. i usually just change it once or twice and then never think about it again. i really don't mind that the wrm v9 has the old moyu adjustment system with the screw. in fact, i actually like the fact that it has a screw because you can get it to the exact tightness that you want to, not limited to just 5 settings. (also, you can unscrew an entire side to look at the internals lol) it wasn't that hard for me to get even tensions on the cube. it only took me one or two minutes to get the tensions right. just stretch the edges as hard as you can and make sure they are equidistant from the center.
    about popping, i've popped probably around 2 or 3 times on the tv3 over 7000 solves, but i've never had a single pop on the wrm v9 over 2000 solves. i think this is probably because the feet of the edge pieces of the wrm v9 have extra protrusions, which makes it so that the corners must also be spread apart to get the edge out of the cube.
    i also think that the point that you made that the tv3 was much better ootb and required less setup, i also disagree. when i tried my wrm v9 ootb, i actually enjoyed it dry with stock tensions more than my fully set up tv3. but it's probably just my preference since i like very fast cubes, and the tv3 with the yoo setup was extremely sluggish for me (relative to the wrm v9, of course. i felt like i didn't know the definition of speed before i tried it).

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  4 месяца назад +1

      That makes sense. I understand where you are coming from with the tensioning system especially considering how infrequently you will actually adjust them. But I just find it so much nicer to not have to worry about each side being different and I will sacrifice only having 5 settings in order to not have a screw!
      It's interesting that you've experienced pops on the TV3 as this is something I haven't had yet. But it makes sense about the feet on the edge pieces.
      You must really like fast cubes for the V9 to be better out of the box! For me it was wayyyy to uncontrollable but I guess that's just preference.

      @@UK_Cuber It was a shock to me also because there was a time when I would only use Moyu cubes.

      As the Moyu cubes tend to be just over 54mm (Speedcudereview always tests them with digital measuring tools and they are usually 54.4mm) and the GANs are always 56mm.
