    What do you think? Does price matter? Let me know below! (I'm more likely to reply if you leave a comment rather than reply to this one!)

      Yes when buying a cube I would say to buy the more expensive cubes. For example you can get a rsm2020 for under $10 which has great performance for its price but has a very low quality on the plastic.and also feel better overtime but if you get a better quality cube you will get more experience and more adjustments

    I would separate pricing into 2 categories. 1) GAN Pricing 2) Rest of the cubes pricing.
    So non GAN flagships are usually topping around 40$ while GAN is as we know topping around 70-80$
    The problem is if you like the GAN feel you don't really get that with anything else. It is literally the same as iOS on apple.
    If you are not keen on the GAN experience and you want to find a great performing cube I would say you will get away with a Moyu flagship or a Tornado.
    I would say flagships are usually really better then non flagships with some exceptions.
    I didn't really the original RS3M 2020. The magnets were weak. However the RS3M V5 UV version is a flagship level performing cube. But that is like already 25$ish so we are getting close to Moyu flagship pricing with that one.
    The Guhong feels significantly cheaper in quality compared to an RS3M V5 I would say. But they feel extremely different. I am getting some Zanchi vibes with the Guhong and eventhough I think I like the guhong the least of my main 3x3s it is a really good cube for the price.
    Tornado V3: Absolute top notch quality. It feels just as premium as a GAN but in a different way. I would say it is one of the best price/performance flagships right now.
    Gan: I loved gan cubes since the Air SM. I had an Air SM, then I had a Gan 11M pro which I have to this day and it is still a really solid puzzle.
    Gan 12: This is my most favorite of all the cubes I mentioned before. The Gan 12 Maglev UV has so vivid colors a typical GAN feel but much better than the 11M Pro.
    I bought the 12 because the internet had really mixed feelings about the 13 and about the 14. AFter solving on a 12 I can't really imagine that any of the 13 or 14 could be better than this cube.
    The GAN 12 is really the most successful GAN cube ever made in my opinion and it being like 3 yrs old now you don't have to pay 80$ for it.
    I am planning on getting a Moyu Weilong WRM V10 once it's released because the Cubicle mentioned that cube is the most GAN like experience Moyu has ever made. This got me into it instantly.
    So although I am a GAN fan kindof I like trying all puzzles and I can definitely tell that except for the GAN feel a V3 or a Moyu cube can perform same or even bettern than a GAN.
    I would also recommend the GAN 12 over anything from GAN which invalidates the 80$ prices.
    So does price matter?
    If you are getting a flagship for 40$ or 80$ I would say expect that they both will perform 99% the same. So I would say the price there is making less than 5% of difference.
    If you are on the bugdet side so 10$-35$ for example I would say you will se so much more of a difference. Like RS3M 2020 vs V3 Flagship. Come on it's like getting a Nokia 3310 vs getting a recent Samsung flagship that is not the MAX PRO ULTRA ++ version.
    TL:DR
    So in the range of 40$-80$+ you are getting almost nothing for your extra money except for the feel differences different companies offer
    1$-40$ range oh boi you can go from hell to heaven of vice versa

    I don't think that price matters. My 356 maglev is worse than my ys3m, in my opinion. The ys3m costs less, too. As soon as I felt the ys3m, I knew it was going to be my main. I mean sure, my QiYi Warrior is collecting dust right now, but that's because it's a really low price. My rs3m 2020 was my main for about 3-4 months until Christmas. I thought it was really good. So yeah, that's why I don't really think price matters.
    P.S. Sorry for the almost paragraph

    • @inseminggd9435
      @inseminggd9435 2 месяца назад

      i agree to some extent, but thats not the best example, cause if we talked about that, we could say that performance downgrades with the price, cause something like the ms3r (or the peak cube for a more extreme example) probably performs way worse than your ys3m
      but i do agree, since there are many cubes that are affordable and i like more than more expensive ones (ex: v5-tv3, i had both cubes and i like the v5 better, even though its cheaper than the tv3)

    Well for me it really depends on what you spend it on you can get a better cube for cheaper while performing better and the opposite. Most cubes now days are pretty similar in performance but spending an extra can kinda be better in some cases. But it really depends on what cube you get. Thats my opinion Thanks for another banger of a video

    i think theres a sweet spot for difference in price and performance, which is completely up to the person (for some it could be like $10, while some may say $40)
    to me that sweet spot is arould $20-$30, most cubes downwards give me worse times (ex: meilong m, rs3m 2020), and most cubes upwards have little to no difference in my eyes (ex: wrm v9, gan 12)

    Hey my comment was in there! I still stand by what I said too. Generally it's a lot less the cube and a lot more the person using it. The guy with the Gan 14 that solves in 30 seconds is still slower than the guy with the RS3M 2020 who solves in sub-10 even if they used the same cube. A lot more of what goes into a time is skill, rather than hardware.

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, completely agree. Most of the time skill is the driving factor for times. It's only when you get really good that slightly more expensive cubes can help to extract tenths of a second from each solve.

    Honestly i agree with some of the other people in the comments. Spending more then $45 in a 3×3 dosn't realy make sense to me. I dont think companide can justify cubes being much over that price. More expensive cubes also makes it harder for people in countries with weaker currency to acess some of the "top level" cubes.

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, fully agree. And realistically, you don't need to spend much to get a good cube!

    • @UK_Cuber

  • @solver5k
    @solver5k 2 месяца назад

    I'm not very willing to pay more than $45 for a 3x3 even though I could afford a $99 cube. Perhaps some companies are using the "decoy effect" to influence our buying decisions.

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  2 месяца назад

      That's reasonable. I think you can definitely get great cubes for that price and realistically, there isn't too much at higher prices.

      every so often I think "I'm gonna buy an expensive pair of shoes" or "I'm gonna pay for this videogame instead of piratying it". Not being a cheap fuck never pays off, which is definitely a market design flaw because the risk is higher. I gues people really like to brag about money with what they consume
