He is by far the most enthusiastic C Cross 2024 reviewers so far. Anyway, this is a strong upgrade to make C Cross competitive. I do wish they have made more changes to the back but can't ask for everything.
Because it no longer feels too bare bones! I mean, I’m all for norm-core motoring, but at 1.3M for the previous model, I need it to at least have vanity lights!
@@mototelic Right!? I guess the price increase is justified with all the stuff they added. The market is getting pretty hot with the influx of new cars from manufacturers. This hopefully means we will get better and more competitively priced and specced cars here in the Philippines.
Watch out for these Chinese brands, though. They will only get so much better, advanced and more importantly, reliable. For now the Corolla Cross offers one of the best bang for buck offerings
Seems to me the G is priced: 1) to sell, 2) to take back sales from the Chinese brands, whether ICE or electrified, 2a) to eliminate the Kicks from consideration (likely forcing Nissan to a lower price point), 2b) to eat the HR-V’s lunch, 3) encourage hybrid adoption and sell-up to these customers in the future, and 4) to perhaps sway those struggling to justify the CR-V’s price. I reckon there’s plenty more the G will do to the market than I’ve listed here.
Corolla Cross G is a very compelling choice now that i'm about to buy a Nissan Kicks VL. A week ago i was 90% sure to buy the Kicks VL, but now just with this video, it's now 50-50.
If you have time wait for the next generation Kicks. The US version with an IC engine was already released and is a huge improvement over the previous generation
the extra 265k you are paying for the v variant is for the upgraded headlights and tail lights(g variant has a different design than the v and grs), bigger wheels, leather interior, power lift gate, 2nd row usb ports, toyota safety sense, cruise control and a larger digital display cluster (g variant has larger analog and tiny digital display).
Yes! Which I’m sure are very important to most people, and is nice but I’m glad that Toyota has the G here as an option for those looking to keep that 265K 😂
I love this car so much, the most affordable hybrid in the entire Toyota line, but I’m still thinking if I’m gonna get the V, hoping I’m gonna get Corolla Cross next year. Thank you for this amazing review, keep it up.
Ikr? They could have slapped that on the GR-S and charged 2.1m for it and it would be fine. For now, locallly at least the 2 liter hybrid is exclusive to the Zenix Hybrid.
I would personally get this over the top of the line Yaris Cross but I understand that the Yaris Cross has a TON of more featues that some people want!
I can’t get over the bare primer paint of the Yaris Cross’s engine bay (and other unexposed areas). It might be unimportant, true. Other cars have unpainted hidden areas as well, true. But seeing it on a Toyota is jarring because it runs counter to the expectation that more care and attention is given in their production process. It really gives an impression of cheapness that I can’t shake off. Even the sub-800k pesos Changan CS15 is better in this respect.
*correction, all variants have 9 airbags (Driver + Front Passenger + Driver Knee + Driver Side + Passenger Side + Rear Side(2) + Curtain Shield(2)) pre-facelift corolla cross didn't have the 2 rear side airbags. edit: see corolla cross brochure in toyota ph's website for the complete specs. you're welcome!
I haven’t know anyone needing to replace their batteries locally just yet but according to what I’ve researched a complete battery replacement in the US costs around 1000 to 1500 usd or about 55-80k php. And that’s on an ooooold prius! I wouldn’t worry too much about that though as these batteries, especially NiMh which can go up to 20 years.
it has 8 years warranty but toyota said the battery would last the lifetime of the car. Toyota has already perfected the hybrid system, they have been making hybrids since 2001 starting with the hybrid prius.
Considering it’s the same as the previous corolla cross 1.8V I think it can do around 17 km/l mixed but we only had the day to film my first impression but we’ll surely give you all these details after a full evaluation!

No cruise control
Finally, a G variant that isn't skimped on features. I kind of hate how Toyota's recent G variants feel like E variants of the past.
This is the G we deserve. I was just a little taken aback with the price increase but with the improvements, I was all set

Just a few weeks ago, I was planning on getting the base variant HRV, but after seeing this review, I might pick this over the HRV.

ang sarap ng problema mo sir hehe
Can’t go wrong with either! Must be nice to have a problems like yours! 😂
Which of the two has the pricier battery right now? Kicks or Corolla Cross?
I suggest you buy this HEV Corolla cross.

Don't want a turbo

How does acceleration feel on the 1.8L? Does it satisfy you and feel comfortable during takeovers?
Yes I like it, syempre naman. 😊 cheaper than Yaris wow!
And bigger! It feels and drives that way, too!
I'd vote this as the car of the year.
Wish they gave us the option of having an M20A-FXS powertrain option at a higher trim level.

Why skimp on the battery?
The Yaris cross uses lithium while Corolla still uses the much heavier NiMh.
Cant wait for mine…fingers crossed
It has low power output for a 1.8 liter engine. Toyota Philippines opted for a nickel metal hydrite battery instead of lithium ion.
If only this fits my garage, this would have been my choice.
Im already eyeing yaris cross V. but i keep seeing comments to go for corolla cross G instead. Pls help
I know there’s a price difference, but would you pick this over the HRV base variant?
Did not close up the cargo space at the rear, camera man sleeping?
Sorry about that! We’ll make sure to cover every little detail on the full review! 🙏🏼
Is all corolla cross 2023/2024 manufactured in Thailand?
I really like this car

Yes, I prefer getting more "metal" than features for my money. Plus the corolla cross passes the iihs tests. Dont knkw about the asean yaris cross.
The competition is getting tougher. Toyota got no choice but to up their game. Still feel the car is sluggish and definitely underpowered.
Na try nyo na po ba mag apply ng SANGLA ORCR sa Global Dominion Financing, Inc.?
What is the fuel economy for city?
This would probably net the same as the earlier version. The Cross GR-S got 18km/l city in our review back then!
@@ZigWheelsPhilippineswhat this guy said 😂
Sad there is no panoramic camera on the V Variant. I am super blessed driving the Yaris Cross V at this time. All complete except the Hybrid.
This or BRV Vx?
4:05 Why is the camera so far?
how many airbags?
It has 7 airbags!
is the hybrid battry lithium ion? or nickel? anyone knows?
It uses a NiMH or Nickel-Metal Hydride battery. As far as I know, only the Yaris Cross Hybrid uses Lithium Ion.

I would trade in cruise control for the full size spare tire which this has over the donut found in the V and GR-S! 😂
