Unfortunately, most women‘s watches are not very appealing to me and finding a great watch that is on the smaller side has been difficult! I must say I am very pleased with my Sinn 556i and Stowa marine Classic. $1,000 to say $3,000 is really my sweet spot and the German options have been ticking all the boxes for me.

But they never do. I bought a TUTIMA back in 2002 and I love it. The Flieger Chronograph FX. Just wanted to point you towards it, just in case you like it.
Top content! When it comes to complications the Junghans Meister Series has some really interesting models, too. For example the Meister Kalender or Meister Agenda.
Spot on about GO and your analogy to JLC - I say the exact same thing when talking with friends. GO is criminally underrated in the watch game and I think represent some incredible value at the price point. Is the SeaQ a Submariner "killer"? No. It's a nice watch, but I think the two are very different in their overall design language. My next watch will likely be the GO Panoreserve or Panomaticlunar, the nicest dress watches at that price point! The date wheel execution is better on the GO than the Lange, let that sink in. Lange is nice, but I'm not a precious metals guy so why pay extra for the material that means nothing to me?
Congratulations- very well done. The only watch I really missed is the Lange Zeitwerk Date. It is - at least for me - the most exceptional German timepiece. And sooooo beautiful
Sinn, Nomos and Stowa are great value pieces and I love their designs. Would like to have a Damasko and a Mühle too. Look at Dornblüth & Sohn, very cool watches.
Thanks for doing a video on German watches. Great watches. To touch on a few, some tough tool watches from guys like Sinn and Damasko. And great selection from guys like Nomos. Love the Bauhaus design of German watches epitomized by Junghans Max Bill designs. But would have liked to have coverage of Glashutte Original which I think is highly underrated, and they have a great tool watch like the SeaQ, and one of the best alarm watches in the Senator Diary where you can set the alarm for any time and day in a month, and to some beautiful dress watches. And of course the grail watches of ALS (Lange) of which there are too many awesome and amazing watches to list. You could do a video of each brand, let alone a video on specific watches within a brand. Thanks for touching on German watches and hopefully it gets others to see the great offering there is. Edit: wanted to include a shout-out to Stowa with a great selection of watches from Diver's as shown, to classic Pilot's watches, to Bauhaus design, and other styles. Also in the edit, want to mention other higher-end watches that seem to be slowly becoming more well known and popular such as Moritz Grossmann, and Stefan Kudoke, and others, but now this is getting too long lol.
good design for sure but quality is sadly very lacking - I can only speak for the Max Bill Quartz. 425 euro for a mis-printed dial and no customer care - quite the opposite. Avoid - automatic/mechanical may be better.

I'd like to add some other good German brands: Meistersinger, Moritz Grossmann, Union Glashütte, Wempe, Tourby, Rainer Brand, Lehmann, Dornblüth & Sohn, Archimede and on the more affordable side Lilienthal Berlin (Zeitgeist), Nivrel and Junkers (which is now in the hands of Hugo Junker's granddaughter again and does not belong to POINTtec anymore). But POINTtec owns other nice affordable brands (Zeppelin, Iron Annie and Bauhaus (yeah, the name of the brand)). Best wishes
I have fallen in love with German watches this past year. Over the last 10 months, I have added: Nomos Club, Laco Bremerhaven, Junghans Form A, Stowa Marine Roman, and a Muhle Panova Blau. They are the ones I go to week in and week out, even more than my swiss pieces. I am hoping to add a Junghans Meister Chronoscope to the collection this year. Thanks for the video Teddy
I was hoping to see steinhart there. I think they offer great value for the cost. You can easily get a titanium, sapphire fliegel for 600€ with an eta movement. Honestly I like them a lot.
15:58 If you want a German Quartz watch, get a Junghans Mega instead. Junghans is mostly known for two things: It's Max Bill watch and it's radio controlled watches. They invented the technology 30 years ago and still produce the most advanced radio controlled watches in the world. They have the "MEGA" addition to the name.
Had the opportunity to visit the Sinn storefront in Frankfurt recently. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the whole presentation was well done. Looking forward to getting a Model 104 or 144.
I have a couple of German watches: my wife has a Nomos Club Campus with their awesome Alpha manual and I have a Stowa Ikarus flieger that for the price is absolutely amazing. I really wanted a non-UTC Sinn 105 for Christmas but they weren't available via their US distributor in time. I will get one in a few months as it really, really speaks to me and I really, really want a Sinn in my collection. Great vid, Teddy!

I own a Nomos Ahoi Date Atlantic as an everyday piece (it’s a stunner), a Tangente as a dresser and the Form C as a beater Chrono. I can absolutely recommend Nomos and Junghans as well. While i first thought they might „get boring“ quickly with their minimal designs if you actually own them, it’s quite the opposite. Good watchmaking and design is just something you learn to admire with time passing by.

My Nomos Tangente is one of my favorites. One that you didn’t mention was Junkers ... very affordable entries into German watches. Have you ever taken a look at Zeppelin watches before? It's a rather unknown (internationally, that is) German watchmaking company producing in eastern Germany. They might be worth a closer look at a price around US$250-400.

Hey Teddy! My German grail is the Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar...stunning! As for Sinn, I think they have decidedly crossed into the overpriced zone for what they offer. Unjustified price increases IMHO for the specs. Cheers!
German fan here. I have a Sinn 556A and a Damasko DC80 which is a great center chrono. I have owned the Sinn U1 and U50. I liked the U1 better and would still own if i didnt get the DC80. The U50 dimensions just seemed off next to the U1. Been checking out Nomos Club in a 38 to take the place of the 556A for a everyday watch.

At the end you mainly confirmed my own taste. So far I have only a Sinn U2. Byte the war the New Sinn 105 Looks great. But from tonight there will be included also the NOMOS Orion. Great vid Ted... There is a new Glashutte Original SeaQ in blue which doesn't have the fake patina and is just stunning. I really do think it's a great rival to the Sub, although it is much more "out there".. The sub is classic and a "safe bet" in many way...
Nice overview. How about the GO Panomatic Reserve - better proportions than a Lange 1? In general though the design of German watches is not for me. GO is no GS or JLC, Sinn no Seiko or Longines. Hanhart good, with genuine heritage. Junghans classy and doing something original with design, not just Bauhaus Lite hype like Nomos. If you want iPhone minimalist, save a packet and buy a Braun. Also, while Swiss, IWC and Moser are effectively German in their design. Can't argue with Lange 1815s though. Up there with the best. That was too many ads.
Glad Damasko made your list more than once. I’ve been wearing a Damasko DA34 for a year. It’s bulletproof, super legible, and incredibly accurate. Everything you could want. It’s no exaggeration to think of it as a Rolex Explorer beater.

You should take a look at Lang&Heyne. It’s another high luxury German brand with beautiful movements. I particularly like their square watches with squared movements and show of bridges.
Glashutte original sixties blue version probably my all time favorite watch. Just incredible. Too bad it didn't make the list... Great overview, however!

We have very similar taste Teddy. I had the Sinn 556A (now own the 556i), Sinn 103, and Sinn 104. I do think that Damasko will take over the entry-level market now that the Sinn prices have increase. I like that all Damask watches have the ice-hardened case. Cheers
I have a Stowa Marine Classic with Roman Numerals and I think Stowa is underrated! I'm definitely biased but I think they have an incredible history and have great value
Guys, if you want a German Watch please take a look at D. Dornblüth & Sohn, they're an independent watch brand where everything is done by hand in the traditional sense. Since they're small, they can make any watch you want and there's a lot of customization options. They're relatively affordable when you factor in what you get for the price and they only make 120-180 watches/year. I placed my order back in October for their in house movement AUF & AB (power reserve) movement and I cant wait until it arrives sometime next year.
@@Chris09978 I own an Archimede Outdoor Antimagnetic in Titan, and it is a stunning watch with decent wrist presence and finshing. Lightweight and comfortable on the wrist, top legibility and still a rugged toolwatch. Highly commendable.
Should’ve added a Stowa Antea for an in-between the Max Bill and Nomos. I think they are the best value of the three, and have a nice salmon dial 35mm version now
How has it treated you? I'm shocked there's basically zero youtibe content (especially from Teddy) about the Antea line! It looks like a Nomos Orion but literally 1k instead of 2500 and uses a drop in movement rather than in house. To me, since the movement still looks near as good as the Nomos one (amazingly), I'm having a tough time choosing Sternglas to scratch my itch at $270. And, if Stowa, I can't decide on Automatic or Manual! Both swiss movements, but this would be my first mechanical watch at all so I'm tempted by getting the auto at the same price - but that sacrifices the view of the movement!
Taking design, quality and value for money into account I consider the Junghans Max Bill to be the best watch I ever bought. Ticks all the boxes and looks superb.

I’ve own a Nomos Tangente and I own a Max Bill Junghans with the anthracite dial, both are incredibly good pieces for the money.

Hey Teddy! My German grail is the Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar...stunning! As for Sinn, I think they have decidedly crossed into the overpriced zone for what they offer. Unjustified price increases IMHO for the specs. Cheers!
German fan here. I have a Sinn 556A and a Damasko DC80 which is a great center chrono. I have owned the Sinn U1 and U50. I liked the U1 better and would still own if i didnt get the DC80. The U50 dimensions just seemed off next to the U1. Been checking out Nomos Club in a 38 to take the place of the 556A for a everyday watch.

As German Watch enthusiast its funny that a American convinces me from German watches. At the end you mainly confirmed my own taste. So far I have only a Sinn U2. Byte the war the New Sinn 105 Looks great. But from tonight there will be included also the NOMOS Orion. All the best and merry Christmas.
I also watch out for a Junghans meister chronometer that has a similar look like the max bill automatic. I don’t know which of them to choose

Great vid Ted... There is a new Glashutte Original SeaQ in blue which doesn't have the fake patina and is just stunning. I really do think it's a great rival to the Sub, although it is much more "out there".. The sub is classic and a "safe bet" in many way...
Nice overview. How about the GO Panomatic Reserve - better proportions than a Lange 1? In general though the design of German watches is not for me. GO is no GS or JLC, Sinn no Seiko or Longines. Hanhart good, with genuine heritage. Junghans classy and doing something original with design, not just Bauhaus Lite hype like Nomos. If you want iPhone minimalist, save a packet and buy a Braun. Also, while Swiss, IWC and Moser are effectively German in their design. Can't argue with Lange 1815s though. Up there with the best. That was too many ads.
Glad Damasko made your list more than once. I’ve been wearing a Damasko DA34 for a year. It’s bulletproof, super legible, and incredibly accurate. Everything you could want. It’s no exaggeration to think of it as a Rolex Explorer beater.

You should take a look at Lang&Heyne. It’s another high luxury German brand with beautiful movements. I particularly like their square watches with squared movements and show of bridges.
I bought my Sinn 556 S/H here in Australia and got it for $850 AUD in perfect condition. The only thing it's a bit small on my big 8.5in wrist...

Glashutte original sixties blue version probably my all time favorite watch. Just incredible. Too bad it didn't make the list... Great overview, however!

We have very similar taste Teddy. I had the Sinn 556A (now own the 556i), Sinn 103, and Sinn 104. I do think that Damasko will take over the entry-level market now that the Sinn prices have increase. I like that all Damask watches have the ice-hardened case. Cheers

Damasko prices are on the rise now too with their new in-house movements. They seem to be moving away from ETA.

I have a Stowa Marine Classic with Roman Numerals and I think Stowa is underrated! I'm definitely biased but I think they have an incredible history and have great value

Guys, if you want a German Watch please take a look at D. Dornblüth & Sohn, they're an independent watch brand where everything is done by hand in the traditional sense. Since they're small, they can make any watch you want and there's a lot of customization options. They're relatively affordable when you factor in what you get for the price and they only make 120-180 watches/year. I placed my order back in October for their in house movement AUF & AB (power reserve) movement and I cant wait until it arrives sometime next year.
Some other German brands that I think people should be aware of are: Union Glashütte, Archimede, D. Dornblüth & Sohn and Wempe.

@@Chris09978 I own an Archimede Outdoor Antimagnetic in Titan, and it is a stunning watch with decent wrist presence and finshing. Lightweight and comfortable on the wrist, top legibility and still a rugged toolwatch. Highly commendable.

Should’ve added a Stowa Antea for an in-between the Max Bill and Nomos. I think they are the best value of the three, and have a nice salmon dial 35mm version now
How has it treated you? I'm shocked there's basically zero youtibe content (especially from Teddy) about the Antea line! It looks like a Nomos Orion but literally 1k instead of 2500 and uses a drop in movement rather than in house.
To me, since the movement still looks near as good as the Nomos one (amazingly), I'm having a tough time choosing Sternglas to scratch my itch at $270.
And, if Stowa, I can't decide on Automatic or Manual! Both swiss movements, but this would be my first mechanical watch at all so I'm tempted by getting the auto at the same price - but that sacrifices the view of the movement!
Happy to see the Laco Augsburg in there among the heavyweights.
Love my Nomos Tangent, if you like small watches. Also thin and hand wound.

Taking design, quality and value for money into account I consider the Junghans Max Bill to be the best watch I ever bought. Ticks all the boxes and looks superb.
