It's true that Days of Future Past didn't fully erase X-men Origins: Wolverine because certain moments from that movie happened at the same time as both First Class and Days of Future Past. You have the beginning of the movie in 1845 (100 years before First Class) and then it jumps into the Civil War and World War 1. The World War 2 scene in Origins is the D-day invasion which took place in 1944 (same year Magneto discovered his powers in X1 and First Class). The Nagasaki bombing in the Wolverine happened in 1945 right after the D-day invasion. The US troops were drafted into the Vietnam war in 1965 so Wolverine's cameo in First Class is right before he gets drafted. This is where Days of Future Past creates a lot of confusion because I didn't understand how Wolverine could be in New York in 1973 when he was fighting in Vietnam on that same year. Even worse is that Sabertooth is missing and Stryker didn't recognize Wolverine when they were in Paris which doesn't make sense because they had already met each other in Vietnam. Even when the timeline is changed by the end of DOFP, we get confirmation from Apocalypse and Deadpool 2 that X-men Origins: Wolverine still happened. The fact that Wolverine still knows Wade in Deadpool 2 means that he still joined Team X and their mission in Nigeria still happened. When Wolverine shows up in Apocalypse with his metal claws, this lets us know the weapon X experiment still happened along with the events leading up to it (Kayla faking her death). The only thing that is erased is the Wolverine vs. Deadpool fight scene.
@@Jake-dm4rk I forgot to mention that there are a few problems with X-men Origins: Wolverine being set in 1979. Before Stryker killed General Munson, he told him that he was dealing with mutants for 20 years. Then, First Class shows us how the humans in both USA and Russia learn about the existence of mutants for the first time in 1962. If Stryker was dealing with mutants for 20 years, that would put Origins in 1982 which is very close to when Apocalypse took place. Plus, Cyclops's teacher in Apocalypse said that he was 7 years old in 1973 so he would be 13 by 1979 but he looked older than that in Origins.
Bro X men 1 is set in 2003 X2 starts just after X1 ended so they're in the same year of 03 and X men the last stand was three years after in 2006 that's why n sync was in X2 because it was 03 and origins was 73 when victor and Logan were court martialed after victor killing his superior officer and Logan supporting him then from 73 to 82 they worked for Stryker then Logan left in 82 then six years happened the whole origins movie then happened in 88 fifteen years before X1
And you can fix the timeline before X1 by the origins Emma being First Class Emma's daughter and Xavier wasn't remembering properly him meeting Magneto at age 17 probably cause of old age and in origins he was showing an astral projection of himself standing
At the beginning you said that was chronological order. That is not the chronological order. That’s the order in which Logan remembers them, but not based on when they happened. That is the ideal order I’d say, to have least inconsistencies.
i like your idea of last stand still happening in 2006 because that is way more confirmed than 2000 like i get for the first xmen it makes sense dialogue wise but why change the third if there's nothing indicating that it did.
You know what, I just like to simply think of it like this: X-men Origins→X-men First Class→X1→X2→X3→The Wolverine→X4(DOFP)→The ending scene in X4→Logan (in a far future). This is a much linear way for me without thinking too much. As for Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, I like to think they happened in an alternate timeline like this: The changed past in X4→X-men Apocalypse→Dark phoenix→Deadpool and Deadpool 2. I haven't seen The New Mutants, neither do I plan to. For me they never happened, Period.

@@Jake-dm4rk it was designed to be cohesive and enjoyable, streamlined to be a stronger whole. Dropping Origins, Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix cuts out some of the worst movies. I haven't heard much good about The New Mutants, and though I have seen some defenders, it still doesn't cohere within the whole. I also think First Class / The Wolverine / Days of Future Past is a better trilogy than the other options for those movies. And initially I had just Logan as an epilogue, but if I incorporate Deadpool, Logan has to be between Deadpool 1 and 2.

The timeline is simple yes it has issues which franchise doesn’t but it is relatively simple people make it sound like it has complicated timeline which is far from the truth very simple you explained the timeline in 34 seconds

I like how you never bring up how Charles and Mystique are all of a sudden step-siblings when in the original trilogy, they never even acknowledge each other. Also the cure in X3 is a huge deal when Hank already figured it out in DoFP. Charles also says in the first movie, that when Charles and Eric first met, they were 17, when they're clearly not in First Class. The only movies I consider canon is X1, X2, and DoFP Rogue Cut (minus Charles' step-sister reference). You also didn't touch on how the timeline change affected when people are born. How (Arch)Angel is two completely different ages in the '80s completely escapes me.

there is no need to place the original trilogy in 1994 and 2000. Just place them in 2000, 2001 and 2006. Then Origins never states that its 1979 (i know it heavily implies it) so you can ignore it. Then Logan joins Team X and stays with them YEARS (which is more reasonable than just doing a couple of missions) and then 6 years after he left the team the rest of the movie happens: 1973 Victor and Logan fight in Vietnam War and Stryker meets them 1973 Logan works for the mob as seen in DOFP (Stryker didnt form the team immediately) 1974-1979 Team X missions 1985 Rest of the movie 2000 X Men 1 2001 X2 (a couple of months later) 2006 X3 (it was confirmed that the Golden Gate was rebuilt that year) So with those dates in mind the Jean flashback in X3 happens in 1981 (25 years before instead of 20 but come on, its more or less the same. Also 20 years ago and 10 years ago sound incredibly round, i dont think we were meant to take them literally). With those changes in mind, we maintain the ages of Scott and Jean consistent. Scott was 16/17 in 1983 and 18 in 1985 so it makes sense he was in high school. And Jean was 14/15 in 1981 (as the actrees that played her) and 17 in 1983. Bonus: Stryker knows Logan in DOFP he is just surprised to see his claws
