Great information on what is happening with your local LCS. The quality at some of the mints has really declined over the past few years and milk spots is one of the biggest quality killers. Those milk spots should be an easy correction since the problem most likely is coming from the mild acid cleaning and rinsing process of the blanks. They are most likely not rinsing and drying those planchets well enough before minting.
Thanks for the information, I knew people would catch on to the Royal mints poor quality control. I talked about this way back when. 3 years ago in 2020 was the last time I bought anything from the Royal mint.
I disagree with the whole silver is silver argument. Eagles for example are more liquid than Generic rounds so dealers will pay more for govt coins vs rounds just like dealers will pay you a higher premium for 10oz bars vs 100oz bars so that Being said I disagree with the whole all silver is the same
@@MAGASTACKERyou can ask dealers back in the 2011 silver high. Didn’t matter if it was generic or government, they were cashing out the same. When silver gets high it doesn’t matter
Personally I don’t care about milk spotting. I like the security features and would buy them over any others that are easier to fake. Milky brits still sell at a great premium when I’ve sold back to other stackers.
I’m a maple guy bc of the mint shield which stops the milk spotting and the fact that maples have 4 security features and 9999 in my opinion a way better coin
Is there a premium on a buffalo round with a cracked die defect throughout the entire roll of twenty. They all have the same crack running from the nose to the edge and it’s not a scratch and it’s on every coin that I received. So,are there premiums on such defects or are they worthless because they aren’t government minted?
Hmm I would definitely see what mint made your buffalos probably sunshine , silvertowne, highland , cutsaw … there should be a stamp on the round somewhere and once you’ve established the mint I would contact the mint. I highly doubt it’s worth more bc they make millions of buffalos but hey it’s worth looking into
Idk I’ve seen tons of milk spots on rounds especially buffalos , that’s why I don’t stack rounds! I’m a eagle and maple guy for 1oz silver and obviously a sucker for 10oz and kilo bars haha
I get what your saying but again you are paying $3-$4 over spot on average on Brits and once they are milked up that premium goes to spot so your are pretty much losing that premium as soon as you get them . I rather buy maples for the same price and keep some of that premium, that’s just me. To each their own 🍻

I love the Britannia design and security features. But since the pandemic, the quality is really bad. Even the slabbed graded Brit coins have milk spots from PCGS and NGC. So, stick with the Silver Britannia Bars, if you like British Royal Mint products.
From what I have bought in 2023 from online dealers, Kangaroos are by far the worst with milk spots. Philharmonics are not much better. Then come the Brits. Maples and Kruggers seem to be the cleanest at this time. I have not purchased any silver eagles this year; however, my older ones suffer from milk spots also.
@@MAGASTACKER I also should have mentioned that mild spotting is like a disease. It can show up right away or sometimes years later as I mentioned. What I didn't mention is that there is nothing you can do storage wise to prevent the coins from spotting if they have been infected by the disease. Even if you store them in an air tight capsule, the infection will take hold at some point. Now it may be possible that storing in an air tight capsule may delay the onset. On that I am not sure. But the coins have been exposed to oxygen at the mint, so the spotting will happen if infected by the poor cleaning manufacturing processes that have been and still are in some mints in place.

UK here. With Royal Mint silver I don't think they've got it right since 2013 when they changed from 958 (Britannia silver) to 999 (Fine Silver). The problems are the blanks RM uses to create the coins as well as general quality control issues. I'm like you I love the coins but hate the milk spots. In the UK we are stuck with them as they are CGT-free. All legal tender is CGT-free including gold. Only time I can boast about a lack of taxes so I better make the most of it. Maples are fine but they milk too, the MintShield delays the process not eliminates it. Early Maples often milk. IMHO the highest quality general bullion is the Perth Mint. Believe it or not I’ve never had a issue with the maples since the mint shield was introduced in 2018, all my maples are in perfect condition however I do agree, the Perth mint is a outstanding mint with great quality control!
I could never imagine paying a VAT tax. Its just so wrong. Heck I legally dont even have to pay sales tax either for $1500 transactions. Heck with it all.
@@MAGASTACKER UK here. Don't get me wrong I HATE the VAT, I believe it is an illegal tax. Hear me out though Our legal tender gold and silver are CGT-free (Capital Gains Tax). If silver and gold go up in price then in the UK we'll end up paying a lot less tax than y'all in the USA The VAT is set at 20% which is on the current or base price. If silver goes up and you sell it in the USA, by law you have to declare every transaction to the IRS. In turn you will then pay CGT based on your income tax band, meaning not only will you pay a higher nominal rate of tax but you'll be paying that tax on an asset that has appreciated So while the VAT in the UK (and EU) is an illegal abomination it's still preferable to paying CGT in the US. The system in the UK is also a lot less complicated so that's a real-terms $$££ saving when it comes to getting your tax affairs in order
should have made clear the tax paid is capital gains tax so is only on the profit not the total cost of the gold or silver. If silver were to double in price though you'd pay more taxes in the USA than in the UK Also when premiums were spiking in the US on ASEs or whatever it was actually possible to buy them for the same price or less in the UK even with the 20% VAT. The premiums on ASEs have been in excess of 100% at various times
If it’s silver., once silver gets to be even more rare ., it will go back to its non manipulated price., spot or not, non premium or not., 180 ounces of the Britannia for 4k is a great deal. 1/17 ratio is $100 of the toilet paper price and I’m all happy about my Britannia stack.
I personally don't care for anything with a monarch face on it, it's a shame some of those Australian, Canadian, British, have one nice face. I have some Maple leafs, wound up with them in a bulk deal, some Canadian junk going back to what's her face, Victoria??? I want to melt them so bad, my kid won't let me, he likes the old world stuff. I'd rather have generics, Sunshine mint is one of my favorite, you can order them directly from the mint, they have several beautiful designs, and they usually run one special or another, most times I'm in the market they pretty much have the best deal I can find anywhere. Made in Florida, USA. So why would I even consider britanias, even those Australian coins, stunning as they are, only on one side, why would I care to have my silver shipped from the other side of the planet?
99% Stacker! But I disagree on the whole silver is silver argument bc if silver was just silver why are their different premiums on different silver products? Why are 10oz bar premiums cheaper than 1oz coins ? Why are eagles more expensive vs maples? But hey to each their own 🍻

should have made clear the tax paid is capital gains tax so is only on the profit not the total cost of the gold or silver. If silver were to double in price though you'd pay more taxes in the USA than in the UK
Also when premiums were spiking in the US on ASEs or whatever it was actually possible to buy them for the same price or less in the UK even with the 20% VAT.
Milk spots… a 5th security feature 😂 😂😂
🗽 GREETINGS
Hello 👊🏻😎
🗽BUY ONLY IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT -- IT ALL MELTS THE SAME
@@tryagain4469 agreed that's how I ended up with them
I’m with you I really enjoy sunshine and other private mints also I do like some govt backed silver and gold but depends on what it is
Maples or generic only for me
Maples 🍁
generic 10 oz. what more do you need
so what , some Maples have milk spots too. they also don't cost more than a dollar or two over a buffalo
Not at all suprised.
I won't buy them, so I can't expect anyone else to.
A milky round is a melter.
Britannia's and Philharmonic's both.
Exactly! Good to see you Dont ask 👊🏻
🗽MILK SPOTS MELT OFF
Yeah but you can ruin the coin by doing so. Regardless you are screwed.
Silver is still silver. You need to ask yourself if you are a collector or a stacker.
99% Stacker! But I disagree on the whole silver is silver argument bc if silver was just silver why are their different premiums on different silver products? Why are 10oz bar premiums cheaper than 1oz coins ? Why are eagles more expensive vs maples? But hey to each their own 🍻
@@MAGASTACKER Thats mainly the retail side when buying. Selling any of it you will be very lucky if a shop pays you spot for any of it even premium silver.
And in the kind of world I am picturing we will be in the market will be based basically upon silver itself. The same reasons I tend to trade premium silver for bullion silver. Would just rather have more ounces.
If Britanias aren’t selling just sell the 3 types of coins as a collection and focus on selling to coin collectors rather than stackers.
Not many coin collectors collecting bullion coins like Brit’s , Brit’s are made for the stackers so it’s hard when the stacker isn’t buying them and they just sit
Dart?
I like Mexican silver lib only thing they are higher than eagles.

Hello
Hi Bob 👋
Hey Bob 👊🏻🇺🇸
Its my belief that no matter which silver coins you go with they will get milk spots. Could be tomorrow and it could be in 20 years. If you dont want milk spots just buy gold. Problem solved. Lol
Maples 2018 - present do not milk spot, many 10oz , kilo bars don’t milk spot . Yes coins and rounds can milk spot but coins like Brit’s , krugs, Phils, most generic rounds do and for me I will pass unless they are selling at spot . To each their own
First!!!
#1, I order you to take a #2. 💩💩
Always 😎👊🏻🇺🇸
Time to sell some of that stack and buy that microphone. Can't hardly hear you
Got to open your ears man , microphone is fine . It’s on your end or your deaf 🧏♂️
@patrioticstacker
Oh, I am far from death. If you think that thing you call a microphone is working, then rock on, brother.
volume is waaay too low besides you are soft spoken. bye
Your mom was loud spoken
I have about 10 2020 brittanias. They all look clean. The coin I won't buy is the silver Krugerrand. SERIOUS MILKING. I bought a roll in 2020, they looked good. Less than two years later, bad milk spots on ALL twenty. Sold them off.
