What I really like are those 5 ounce ATBs. Some of the earlier ones I bought for $115 dollars a piece. Keep me in your prayers because I haven't been doing well. I just got out of the hospital last Tuesday. Thanks for the video and keep the faith
Im hoping to get at least a tube each month moving forward for the next 5 years so i get way more excited when the prices are lower. I lost focus and got some pretty high premium collectables but im getting back to focusing towards making Eagles and ten oz bars a serious part of my stack. Just for use case and liquidity, along with the tax freedoms that come with the eagles.
Very interesting overview. The more I get into stacking, the more I am confronted with this question (and I have 10 ounce silver bars): shouldn't one be buying gold instead of silver at or above 10 ounces of silver? I'm beginning to think that I should stack Liberty dollars and fractional Liberty gold coins and, ultimately, gold Buffaloes.
Thanks for this video. My grandfather died 2 years ago he was 72 and he has been collecting coins for over 50 years. We do not know where to started at Trying to figure out the value of these coins. I hope to learn something from your channel😊😊😊
Got great memories of 1986 silver Eagle. Was working in a bank at not even 21. Getting a roll here and there by the bank manager when they came in from customers. They were like new and got me into silver.
Those formulas are used for buying and selling based on spot price, which is normal. But for a barter situation with someone who may not be familiar with this method there's an easier way. $1.40 in constitutional silver equals 1 oz. silver, which most people will understand, and the spot price of silver is readily available to pretty much anyone. 😉
I could care less about bars vs rounds. But 1 oz rounds normally have a lower premium than 1 oz bars. So, I buy rounds over bars. In fact, I've often been able to find better dealsbper ounce on 1 oz rounds vs 10 oz bars.
Great video thanks Brian. Will have to drop by your shop. If you have info any chance of a video for storage pricing and options. Not a lot of info on this option. Thanks. 🦍❤️🥈
That’s a lot of information to digest for beginners. However, I’ll make time to get a better understanding everything you’ve shared. I’ll definitely save this for reference. Best wishes sir.
Very nice video and explainer! Bonus with info about premium info. Libertad is very nice coins. What is the premium on them? Kilocoins from Perth also vrry nice
Great video! I recently started buying Philharmonics as and American and I love em! No milk spots or nothing. I do try to wear gloves when handling them though.
💯 Great 411# It was a vast wide variety of coverage on silver . I'm new to the silver game and thankful that I had crossed your channel and seen this viedo for newbies to the game. Cause there were a few moments when purchasing silver coin or round I felt kinda of taken advantage of do to premiums and they can change as well if your not up to game. Of the premiums. But it has definitely been a learning experience for myself and just like anything else in the learning of life it will cost you a little to learn . 💯 appreciate you for the lesson here today.
Another great video -- I always learn something from listening to you. If I have a chance to travel to Florida again, I would definitely stop in to your shop (I'm the guy from the Northeast who called you about a month ago). Keep up the great work.
Right at the beginning when you explain the way to know what the premium is over spot on a dollar face makes two equations necessary but if you instead use $1.40 face=1 ounce then once you know the spot price it is simple Simon to know what the premiums are. I think your entire point is to make the information more simple so it is easier to figure with 90% constitutional silver coins.
Great points. Here’s my New Year’s dilemma, this week there’s an online dealer sale going on for random quarter ounce gold coins for $540, I was debating on buying now or waiting until the first quarter to see If prices may be lower when Fed doesn’t raise interest rates and buying then. I know the price fluctuates when they increase the interest rate or decrease it, but what happens to Precious Metals prices if they don’t move the interest rate, how does that (non move) effect the price of pm’s?
As far as Sunshine bars go, they also make the 1 oz silver eagles so I would not call them generic. You totally missed out on libertads (a very desirable coin in the US). Stacking 5 oz bars is a good way to go also. I liked your video. I think it was educational.
@@showpro1178 You are right Sunshine Mint just makes the planchets. If it's good enough for the mint, I don't know why the silver would be considered generic. After all, they have a security device on their bars and rounds which, in my view, makes them exceptional.
Got some libertads in silver and a quarter ounce gold proof libertad, just got my first gold ounce libertad and they are my favorite plus limited strike makes the premium worth it but you have to buy new. I got my 1/4 proof for 560 which was a steal to me.
Brian : What is your definition of "generic" ? I've often thought that it meant "any precious metal piece OTHER THAN coins or other examples of currency produced by a SOVEREIGN MINT" . Your thoughts? Thanks
Can understand why Republic Metals isn’t a favorite lol. I’m just getting back into metals recently after a break. The only reason I’ve heard of Republic Metals isn’t for anything good :-/
What is a milky coin? Or milk spots? Also, Should you wear cotton gloves while handling silver? Some say yes and some say no. I'm thinking if you touch a proof you should while constitutional isn't required. What do you say?
I can remember during the 50s when I would trade my lawnmowing money, or other chores for a silver dollar at the bank. I just thought they were cool but now I’m 81. I wish that I had hung on to them but as a kid, I never thought about it lol.
Got a local coin shop that charges more for the half dollar 90% silver than the quarters and dimes. And whithin the halves he charges more for the walkers, then less for the franklins and then less for the Kennedys. And then if he had barber halves im sure those would cost even more than all of them and so on. 😅
So why buy 90% silver when you can buy 100% silver for a few cents give or take? Are constitutional coins mostly bought for collectors looking to fill in their coin books? I'm new to this stacking thing. It seems like I'm a silver junkie and want to buy, buy, buy. But can only do it once a month and what I can afford to buy. I'm just looking to collect as much as I can get before, I croak for the family. And why is the premium so much of a difference between each type of coin and or bars or rounds?
Might use Venezuela or Argentina as an example. How does one live/exist is a hyper inflationary economy? I heard from one Venezuelan who managed to move up here that those with jewelry and metals “managed”. I presumed that managed meant exchanging through dealers for fiat to then buy necessities, but it seems a bit much to think that you would exchange it for fiat that would require a wheelbarrow to buy mere groceries. It’s not efficient.
could you answer my question sir if someone wrote a comment that you really liked and promised to send them something as a thank you would you honour your promise ive been let down big time by a RUclips stacker
Constitutional Math. I find it easier to start with the approximation (allowing for wear) that $1.40 of constitutional equals 1 troy ounce of silver. If the LCS quote is 19x face then do 1.40 x $19; Take 10% and double twice ((2)(2)(10%) = .40) gives $1.90 --> $3.80 --> $7.60 add to the 1.00 x $19 = $19.00 + $7.60 = $26.60. So if spot is $23.30 your premium is $26.60 - $23.30 or $2.30.
For the love of god, take that plastic off those 10oz bars!! That plastic is going to leave an ugly rusty look around the edges if you leave it in the plastic... put them im air tight cases... please and thank you. Yall want to charge crazy premiums but cant seem to take proper care of them for the next owner...
I would never recommend bars or rounds as an investment vehicle. When silver goes up the demand is for silver eagles increases because they are real money and have name recognition. Bars and rounds need verification from a buying dealer. Granted silver eagles are faked but contrary to your opinion there I get more money for eagles and maples when I sell them to dealers and coin shops. Fact are in evidence to that.
So you are saying that high to low or low to high premiums mean, you are drug around by the nose? Hmmmmm? Now tell us all how you predict there will be no confiscation of gold or silver on the horizon…….. Waiting.
Great pricing
That was an awesome video especially for us newbie’s. Thanks!
YES big on saying and ounce of silver is an ounce of silver!! Buy the most you can.
.99999 Fine Content. Liked and Subscribed....Thanks Sir..!!!
😍 wow look at that bar!! Once I visit my buddy in Florida I feel like I got a list of stores to visit !

Be well Sir.
Wishing you the best of health in your future silverliner
That's lucky bro because an atb is like 150 to 200 on eBay rn. 25 dollars an ounce is spot price at the moment
God Bless You
@hellfireredemption777 thank you

This guy has the perfect voice for narration. If he doesn’t work in broadcasting he could.

what company produces the Buffalo 1oz. rounds ??

Isnt there some states the take silver/gold as currency?

Fantastic article, I learned quite a bit about silver and how the system works.
Another excellent presentation.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to explain so much in such an easy to understand manner. Nice silver. 😊

Valuable info here, thanks. Especially the part about expectations in a bubble. Makes perfect sense, but hadn’t really thought of it before.
Great video thanks Brian. Will have to drop by your shop. If you have info any chance of a video for storage pricing and options. Not a lot of info on this option. Thanks. 🦍❤️🥈

I’m happy seeing lower premiums for now

What do you think about 5 once bars

Who's Magic Assistant hands were those? Your Videographer?
Brian ! If I was selling eagles to my LCS what dollar amount should I ask above spot ?

I thought Sunshine Minting supplied the planchets, or "blanks" to the U.S. Mint, and the MINT made the Eagles. I could be wrong.

Hello just subbed
Other than novelty items , I refuse to pay over 3$ over spot for silver. I’ve bought silver leafs for 2.99 , and generics for less

Hello, I collect silver as granules. I have 5 kilos of silver. Do you think it makes sense to collect it like this?
What’s granules
I thought they did $1.40 of junk silver...
could you answer my question sir if someone wrote a comment that you really liked and promised to send them something as a thank you would you honour your promise ive been let down big time by a RUclips stacker

So if spot is $23.30 your premium is $26.60 - $23.30 or $2.30.
Are you capable of buying 1000 kilos of gold?
I like 10 Oz 5oz rounds and Junk silver
I only buy dips not much of a dollar cost averaging guy
Silver buying basics BUY GOLD 😂

It doesn't matter to most people, especially dealers, as it's bullion, not a collectible.
JMHO
