Excellent burnout. When you can stripe the road for a good piece you know you've done well. Probably one of the most fuel efficient burnouts Ive ever seen.
That was Great, Both of you ! I had a '72 Duster with 225 Slant 6/ Auto with manual steering/brakes and it would the same you did Tim. It was fun doing a Ferrari disappearing act albeit with one wheel....LOL
With a 3.55 ring gear and a 9 1/4 , it better squeak and peel a little bit. Some 6's had a 150-65 ft/lbs rating , the trans to get is one with a 4spd( lay a stripe all day long as you have a clutch 😅)
I've got a '61 D100 longed with a 4 speed and a '64 D100 shortbed also w/a 4 speed, they will let loose with a spirited clutch dump. My '65 dart with a 170 and 3 on the tree will get the hard bias ply 13 incher on the rear to belch some smoke on a whim. My 1bbl '69 Swinger will squall the tire with help from the front brakes. Thanks for letting the smoke out of you right rear.
Winter is coming soon, so you better enjoy the burnouts while you can. For us down south, hot summer days are going away, so winter is gonna be pleasant for us.

Been in my buddy's 70s scamp at a 110mph with a 225.... It was all the beans it had lol Scary! 😆.... Maybe a turbo and a gear change will hell burn rubber..👍🏁
My dad had a '68 valiant slant 6 when I was a young'n. He topped it out by the speedometer at 112 mph on I-25 (Colo.). My brothers Cougar with a 351W could not get around him top end 😅
Our slants in 🇦🇺 started of with the 145 hp then the 160 hp slant and the VF Valiant 69 Pacer slant at 175 HP 🙀😃. Although me and my brother have had slants with some moods would put most band X to shame . Long story been there many many time 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.
@318willrun Probably a broken drive shaft too. 😆 🤣 When I was a kid, my dad's 69 F250 would do tire melting burnouts if you started in reverse floorboarded and then slammed the automatic into whatever forward gear you hit. Then he put new tires on that didn't spin like the bald Michelins. Blew the Dana 60 trying. 🤣
I bought a brand new 82 Dodge Mizer and I had a 16.5 ft boat with a 85 hp evinrude and really it had a hard time keeping at 55 mph on the hwy so it lasted 2 years and I traded it for a new 84 Silverado and never looked back.
@@318willrun 145 is more pleasing to hear isn't it ? 🙂. I'm in New Zealand, and the only Slant 6 we ever got for our Valiants, and Dodge trucks was the 225 ci version. Mostly single barrel 145 hp , but for the '68 Valiant it was 2 barrel and 160 hp . A while back I was looking around for a replacement Slant for my '65 Australian Valiant, and someone offered one that was still in a 1986 Dodge pickup, and I was researching them and coming up with 95 hp , which didn't sound appealing to me. The Dodge truck was owned by the American government and used in Antarctica. Since then I've found a '65 145hp version motor with only 37000 miles on it.🙂👍
I think what ever it takes. It was impressive. I had a 76 Cadillac with about 150,000 miles a 500 Cid, it had posi and wouldn't spin the tires from a dead stop on pavement. The transmission was slipping bad in 2nd gear, so I started backing up put it in N floored it, let the engine rev for about 4 seconds, then dropped it in 1st. It burned rubber for 25 feet backwards made 2 big loops from. The bottom of the loop till the tires stopped was about 90 feet the engine was making some knocking noise, I drove straight to a salvage yard. I paid $175 for the car, drove it for a year. It had a great heater, no a/c. (Didn't work) was worth the money 😊
@@bertgrau3934 Yeah the 70's was messed up. Cams retarded, too much egr, carbs too lean, converter stall speeds too low, and tall gears to try to get mileage. Sad when 500 CI can't spin tires. You could wake up those 500 caddys though, I think the one that woke up the best was the 455 buick
@@joecummings1260 Yeah, you could do a lot with those 500 Caddy's . For what I paid for it, I got my monies worth. I liked the Buick 455, they had lots of Torque . Today they use EGR on big trucks like Freightliner. It will mess up the engine , and cost big bucks to fix. Just crazy. Have a good weekend sir.
it should turn the tires.my 4.0 ranger will fry the right rear just giving it quick throttle.& its only got 220 lb./ft of torque.& its an automatic.put 500 pounds in the bed & its a different story.
But I did... right in the video! I just held the brakes and mashed the gas like you seen and soon as the tire broke loose, I let off the brake and let it eat!
My 65 D-100 with a "non super" slant 6 with a 4 speed and a sure grip with 3.90 gears tried to burn rubber. With mud & snows on the back all it did was burn the clutch. Nice job!
Look at how much fun you 2 are having my old ap5 slant could burn rubber which is lighter of course
