Smash Bros. has swords. A lot of swords. As the franchise has grown and evolved, more and more characters that use swords have been added as playable fighters. There are plenty of other weapon types used as well, but swords are by far the most common. This got me thinking: exactly How many swords are in Smash Ultimate?

It’s still technically correct that Corrin’s f-smash is the only charging sword hitbox that exists, so we can say that instead
@@bluesiriusgaming Mythra's neutral special has a hitbox when charging, but I'm not sure if it would count because it's not a smash attack

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Sheik uses an Eightfold Blade, a Sheikah sword that's used in Breath of the Wild (where her current outfit design comes from).
...Anyway, random proposed future swordies for the roster:
- Alear (Liberation, and whatever swords are granted by Emblems)
- Noah (Veiled Sword/Lucky Seven, maybe also Lanz's Shieldblade)
- Legionis (Sword Legion)
- Travis (Blood Berry)
- Sol Badguy (Fireseal/Junkyard Dog)
steve also has shovels, pickaxes, and axes
Ness also has hit box in charging smash attacks

Can we really count all the Mii Swordfighter costumes?
I mean, technically the monkey costume uses a stick, which looks more like a club than a sword.
The Mii Swordfighter costumes boosted the count to have about as many swords as there are characters, so I don't think we should count them all. In fact, I would want to count sword-users, not individual swords.

@@Kingbee642 long story short, Pyra/Mythra were just one of 3 crystals powering a machine capable of tearing apart and rebuilding reality... their "father" is the guy who decided to activate said machine and play God... Shulk was created to become a vessel of an alternate version of that guy... no, I will not explain anything else, you should really just play the games here... and people try to call Kingdom Hearts complicated when there's this stuff

Not particularly, I just came up with the idea after my counter and reflector shorts. I wanted to cover something that got just as much attention from the developers as counters and reflectors, and swords came to my mind first.
Projectiles are a good idea though, I'll keep that in consideration lol
