I don't believe the 20cm/8in height alligations for one bit; Kirby has been around actual cars and Adeline, a human character! Just by those two examples, I refuse to accept that he's small as descriptions claim him to be.
Mario and Samus also make cameos in older Kirby games and they aren't humongous or anything. I know cameos aren't the best thing to go off of but combined with his size comparison to human measurements, it doesn't seem unreasonable for him to be taller.
Kirby actually has two canon heights and changes between them when the context of the game he’s in calls for it. In forgotten land he’s the height of a small child give or take but in Dream Buffet Kirby is around 8-9 strawberries tall in the opening cutscene and strawberries are roughly an inch big meaning Kirby is 8-9 inches tall. Kirby is generally not 8-9 inches tall, but there are occasions where he is, and that’s weird.
Honestly a diamond sword fully upgraded is really useful all things considered. - Near unbreakable with Unbreaking and Mending - Can catch enemies on fire with Fire Aspect - deal more damage and a spread out slash with Sharpness and Sweeping Edge and for more optional enchantments - increased damage to specific mobs: (Smite and Bane of arthropods) - increased specific rare items (Looting) - increased Knockback, which for Smash bros would be REALLY op (Knockback) Maybe it's why it's higher but the master sword should've been higher, not much higher but still
@@rosheafanWhile it probably has some of the worst gameplay of the series, it more than makes up for it with its plot. Imo it would be better if it were a unique IP.
While I can see the case for not taking lore and backstory into account when it comes to rating, I think specifically for the designs it should be looked at nonetheless. The Master Sword is improved immensely by the iconography worked into it for example, and Pyra's sword having a flaming blade is a very neat way to alude to other things in the series, namely the similarities between Aegises and Monados as well as her fire ultimately just being the residual energy from Mythras light. Essentially what I'm saying is, especially when it comes to symbols and the like, the background is what makes that design or detail cool, because it gives it meaning. The dragon insignia is cool because it resembles a dragon and dragons are cool. But if you don't know what a dragon is, that symbol can look like just a bunch of lines. The same applies to the Triforce.

Link is just Hawkeye change my mind…can handle a sword, EXTREMLY great with a bow, uses explosives and isn’t afraid to combine his bow with his bombs…Boomeranges cool too, but the grappling hook, last I checked Hawkeye had something similar with a grappling hook in endgame…
Ness and Lucas being able to talk to animals is pretty neat. Mythra at full power can rewrite the laws of physics, a bit much for a hero. Kirby being able to copy his enemies would be funny for a superhero. Luigi having power over Fire and Lightning is pretty cool. Joker basically is a super hero Same with Samus
The reason why the Ragnell sword looks like that is because it's meant to be heavy, it also has a twin sword that looks the same except that one is silver. I thought it would go in A tier at least.
I dunno if Kirby’s Final Cutter even counts as a sword - in the original games, the Cutter ability is primarily a ranged boomerang weapon, and the melee capabilities aren’t always present with the ability.
The Final Cutter sword is NOT EVEN CANON, it's completely made up for smash, WHY? Could they not just have used the regular ass Cutter blade? Why make up an entirely new unrelated weapon for a single move that already had a canonical weapon it came from?
Notable swords from other franchises: Mario: In Mario RPG, Exor is a giant, living sword. It's not one that Mario necessarily wields, but it's a sword in a Mario game, at least. Pit/Dark Pit: They're more _blades_ than _swords,_ but their bows are still notable. Snake: He didn't wield it himself, but Raiden has the HF Blade/Murasama. Pokemon Trainer: Depends on if you want to count other Pokemon. Sonic: I'm not joking, and some of you may remember, but Sonic and the Black Knight was a thing. Also, Sonic Frontiers. Caliburn/Excalibur is a sword with a face that later loses it and gets a godly aura that's *also* a sword around it. Not a bad sword. Villager: Can technically own the Master Sword, but it's already listed several times already, sooooooo Mega Man: You can't *not* mention the Z-Saber. While you might say "Hey, that's Zero's sword!" and be technically right, it's worth noting that Mega Man X has wielded it as well, and he is essentially just an upgraded Mega Man. Greninja: how did you miss him he literally uses water swords Palutena: It's worth noting that Kid Icarus has other weapons that are very sword-like, but aren't as notable due to there being too many to consider. Bayonetta: A similar case to Kid Icarus, where she definitely has some swords and sword-like weapons, but are moreso for quantity than quality. Inkling: There's actually a weapon called the "Splatana", which is fairly self explanatory. Simon/Richter: The Valmanway, wielded by Alucard, is a notable weapon, being the best out of many in their series. Isabelle: More on Animal Crossing, there's actually a few sword furniture items available, and even one equippable for the player, being the sword in a scabbard. So it's surprisingly not off the table for Animal Crossing characters to be wielding a sword. Just hope that you don't find Isabelle with one. Joker: "Lemme see what you have!" "A knife!" "NO!" Banjo & Kazooie: The series was originally going to be "Dream: Land of Giants", featuring Edson, who wielded a sword. Sora: There are several different keyblades available to Sora, though they all go along similar, *goofy* lines, plus occasionally being a little over the top. Aside from a few other things like other equippable swords in other games (Zelda's Fierce Deity Sword, Minecraft's Netherite Sword plus enchantments, Fire Emblem and other franchises' different equippable swords), there isn't much else to say. Definitely some notable ones here that could've been mentioned, though. _..seriously though, how did you miss greninja? he was literally designed for smash, and had swords/kunais in his design, and they're even counted as swords in smash's damage types, and yet you leave him out like he's just a wet shiek. you will regret this day, TCNick3._
As someone who got into the Xenoblade series this year, I appreciate your rankings Nick on Shulk’s Monado and Pyra and Mythra’s Aegis Swords. Also Sword of The Creator will always be awesome!
I have to add that Kirbys Up B is not a Sword ability (except in Amazing Mirror, where he uses his usual sword for it) but a Cutter Ability (his boomerang hat). That is, why it has this curved form.
I agree that the diamond sword is tacky and goofy af, but A: it's funny and B: you can't deny that it's probably the most or second most iconic sword in all of gaming after the master sword, so I agree with nick's ranking of it
Nah the swords are goofy I agree with the editor. Based off the criteria it’s not a cool sword. It would not make you look cool. But it’s iconic for sure
1:46 "we're ignoring lore here. I know this is one of the most hype swords in all of gaming... BUT..." no come on don't do me like this "... it's for a reason" ok good. Why did you phrase it like that? You gave me a mini heart attack for no reason
Honestly he's right that you don't really cut things with the keyblade but anything it does cut like buildings and luxord in kh2 probably uses magic. After all the keyblade is basically just magical if you think about it.
Definitely agree with editor Tam here, judging by look and coolness, holding a bright blocky blue sword doesn't seem at all cool and all the other Minecraft ones are the exact same tier for me, which is D Also, "I'm sorry for what I have to do to the Master Sword" *puts it in S*
I'm curious if TCNIck has even *played* Xenoblade for his massive bias for it. I'm not even too mad; my Keyblade got nerfed to the ground for "not actually being a sword", but the Buster Sword, Fusion Swords, and Masamune made SS Tier, so fair.
As a HUGE Kingsom Hearts fan, I’ve gotta say, I am COMPLETELY disappointed…that you’re exactly right about the keyblade 😭 there’s a reason in the games I switch as soon as I get a new keyblade 😂
I'm a massive KH fan and I 100% agree. I love using the kingdom keyblade but yeah I also switch it up the moment I get a new keyblade. Also it looks extremely goofy compared to actual swords
It doesn't matter whether it's a regular video or a tier list for something completely random, Nick's videos just never fail to be extremely entertaining
Love seeing more unique stuff from Nick. I know he's done tier lists in the past but not like one where he just says, I like this one because I just do. W
Nick talking about how Meta Knights sword is massive, then says that Kirby's Sword (FS Sword) is Massive show that this man must have played brawl. We even have video evidence.
Finally. A tier list I've actually been wanting to see. The Key Blade is not a sword. That is an _axe!_ Similarly, Pyra's sword isn't really a sword either. It's a vaguely sword-shaped flamethrower.
I'd call it a wand or staff sooner then a sword or an axe. Think about it: it's a big blunt stick that you can cast magic from, that's obviously a wand or staff.
The keyblade is not an axe, how did you come to that conclusion? It's a sword that cuts what it wants to. It functions as a sword, you fight with it as a sword, the only thing that it doesn't have that a sword does is the physical appearance.
"I would look stupid holding [the keyblade] as a soldier in an army." >Puts a pixel sword in S tier >Puts the goofy-ass-looking Monado ABOVE THE BUSTER SWORD
Mythra's sword not being activated robs it of half of its coolness. Look at it with the blade turned on and tell me that isn't epic. Also, look at the Monado's second form. That thing SLAPS.
I'd like to see Shadiversity's take, even though he's talked about a few of these individually. So many of these aren't "clean", but are in fact mall ninja weapons. I bet Marth's sword and the DQ8 sword would rank toward the very top since they have a lot of practicality and subtle style. Mythra's sword would be impossible to swing around without poking yourself with it. Shulk's may stay up there due to being a lightsaber, depending how heavy the big red frame is. Byleth's sword would be really great if it didn't turn into a whip, there's no way anyone could actually swing it around without killing themselves. Plus if you actually did hit someone with it, the whole thing would tangle up on itself and be totally useless. IDK what the appeal is on any of the minecraft weapons, but they're just basic short swords with a swapped palette. Plus you'd look like a goofy kid holding up a pixelated sword. Easy F tier, right next to the Keyblade, Kirby's swords, and young Link's swords.
For Kirby the round part in the middle is a reference to the cutter ability because is his home series and specifically in forgotten land when he has the cutter ability if he’s close to an apponent and mashes the attack button he will perform the move final cutter which is what you see in Kirby’s up B (Also the key blade is cool as heck how dare u put it in d)
the Ganondorf sword is from the Darknuts, first use was in a trailer for a darker themed LOZ after the OOT then MM but then came Wind Waker, now to keep their word, they made Twilight Princess and gave these big heavy swords to Darknuts, they even hold them in 1 hand
The fact that he did Kirby's up b is hilarious to me because it's actually not a sword at all, it's a boomerang blade that detaches from a hat. Also I know lore isn't talked about in the tier list, but the Ultra Sword also grows with power so the more strength you use, the bigger and more powerful the sword gets.
Byleth's sword is easily the best one in my opinion. Whips are already much cooler then swords imo even though swords are very cool so combining the two is just perfection.
i think the master sword is absolutely perfect. it looks strong, but not in like a huge and obvious and obnoxious way like the buster sword, fusion sword, and masamune. it's elegant, beautiful, and a perfect blend between magical and realistic. it's great for a medieval army general to wield as he leads his soldiers into battle, whether it's against an enemy kingdom or a legion of evil monsters. if you see someone with this sword, you dont wannt mess with them because they will likely fuck you up. it's not too fancy to where it's silly, and the wielder wont look like they have it just because it's expensive. it looks like something an actual sword master would use. im not just saying this as a zelda fan, or as a gamer in general, but rather as a writer and director.
If you'd like to see why Nick is wrong on all accounts, check out literally any SwordTuber. Personally like Skallagrim, who does a lot of overanalyzing media and sword designs for how useful they'd be.
@@minasthirith6314 Usefulness is what makes it cool, look a things like the dragon quest sword that was last on the list, you can't tell me the sword wouldn't look just as bad ass if you kept everything the same but didn't have the silly hooks that would completely stop it from actually cutting through everything. @@Zer0billion my point is that it doesn't need to be practical. Hell, the most well known swords are incredibly impractical. Cloud's Buster Sword is just a giant slab of steel. Mario and Samus also make cameos in older Kirby games and they aren't humongous or anything. I know cameos aren't the best thing to go off of but combined with his size comparison to human measurements, it doesn't seem unreasonable for him to be taller.
@@Magic_Ice Smash Bros when it spreads misinformation 🤭
Kirby actually has two canon heights and changes between them when the context of the game he’s in calls for it. In forgotten land he’s the height of a small child give or take but in Dream Buffet Kirby is around 8-9 strawberries tall in the opening cutscene and strawberries are roughly an inch big meaning Kirby is 8-9 inches tall. Kirby is generally not 8-9 inches tall, but there are occasions where he is, and that’s weird.
"Wrong but ok" editor Tam funniest editor
Honestly, can't believe master sword lost against diamond sword
I’m not gonna disrespect the diamond sword it certainly has its own energy it’s just not cool.
Honestly a diamond sword fully upgraded is really useful all things considered.
- Near unbreakable with Unbreaking and Mending
- Can catch enemies on fire with Fire Aspect
- deal more damage and a spread out slash with Sharpness and Sweeping Edge
and for more optional enchantments
- increased damage to specific mobs: (Smite and Bane of arthropods)
- increased specific rare items (Looting)
- increased Knockback, which for Smash bros would be REALLY op (Knockback)
Maybe it's why it's higher but the master sword should've been higher, not much higher but still
@@luigconyoutube7551 and it’s still considered weak compared to the master sword.

As a fire emblem fan, unbased and cringe, 3h is the second worst FE game
@@rosheafanWhile it probably has some of the worst gameplay of the series, it more than makes up for it with its plot. Imo it would be better if it were a unique IP.
@@ie2304 the idea of the story is good but the execution is godawful.
Hot take; Cloud's "Sword" looks more like a sharpened slab of metal than an actual usable blade. And the hilt just makes it look dinky.
Literally Berserk
Cloud’s swords are only cool because he can use them, realistically they’re extremely silly.

I had my mom guess Smash characters and when she saw Cloud she called him the "Guy With The Big Sword" 😂😂
Would be cool to see you rank the abilities and powers of smash fighters in a vacuum, as in how cool they would be if slapped on to a superhero
Shulk is just Vision if you gave him a sword that could manipulate reality and murder God.

Kirby being able to copy his enemies would be funny for a superhero.
Luigi having power over Fire and Lightning is pretty cool.
Joker basically is a super hero
Same with Samus
The reason why the Ragnell sword looks like that is because it's meant to be heavy, it also has a twin sword that looks the same except that one is silver. I thought it would go in A tier at least.

I dunno if Kirby’s Final Cutter even counts as a sword - in the original games, the Cutter ability is primarily a ranged boomerang weapon, and the melee capabilities aren’t always present with the ability.
Should've been ultra sword
It’s also what happens when you get up close to a enemy and start attacking it will do the move
The Final Cutter sword is NOT EVEN CANON, it's completely made up for smash, WHY? Could they not just have used the regular ass Cutter blade? Why make up an entirely new unrelated weapon for a single move that already had a canonical weapon it came from?
@@Cri_Jackal false, it came from super star
@@randompersonroamingtheinternet In Super Star he just uses the Cutter blade to do it, _there is no sword,_ there never has been.
Notable swords from other franchises:
Mario: In Mario RPG, Exor is a giant, living sword.
Villager: Can technically own the Master Sword, but it's already listed several times already, sooooooo
Mega Man: You can't *not* mention the Z-Saber. While you might say "Hey, that's Zero's sword!" and be technically right, it's worth noting that Mega Man X has wielded it as well, and he is essentially just an upgraded Mega Man.
Greninja: how did you miss him he literally uses water swords
Palutena: It's worth noting that Kid Icarus has other weapons that are very sword-like, but aren't as notable due to there being too many to consider.
Joker: "Lemme see what you have!" "A knife!" "NO!"
Banjo & Kazooie: The series was originally going to be "Dream: Land of Giants", featuring Edson, who wielded a sword.

The manado has a secret art called “expand”

Monado at the top is the only correct answer
Nick talking about how Meta Knights sword is massive, then says that Kirby's Sword (FS Sword) is Massive show that this man must have played brawl. We even have video evidence.
The editor represented all of us with your opinions on the Minecraft swords.
2:14 I am dying, bro things cutter is a sword, that's a boomerang blade
"thats every sword ranked from sex to D tier"
not a line i was expecting to hear today but sure
"I would look stupid holding [the keyblade] as a soldier in an army."
>Puts a pixel sword in S tier
>Puts the goofy-ass-looking Monado ABOVE THE BUSTER SWORD
Love how he forgot that Kirby’s sword is a real ass thing. An Egyptian sword lol
I love sword tier
That last one and byleth are sex, the dragon design, and the whip sword is too quirky, they have me
Mythra's sword not being activated robs it of half of its coolness. Look at it with the blade turned on and tell me that isn't epic.
Also, look at the Monado's second form. That thing SLAPS.
Ranking every character PLEASE MAKE THIS TIER LIST
Nick always hits with the W uploads
Hot Take: If Toon Links Kokiri Sword which is a Dagger counted, then Joker's knife should count as well
I'd like to see Shadiversity's take, even though he's talked about a few of these individually.
Ain't no way he put Kirby's rocket ship sword so high, that thing looks goofy
You should do a tier list on the assist trophies
For Kirby the round part in the middle is a reference to the cutter ability because is his home series and specifically in forgotten land when he has the cutter ability if he’s close to an apponent and mashes the attack button he will perform the move final cutter which is what you see in Kirby’s up B
(Also the key blade is cool as heck how dare u put it in d)
😬 Kirby is my second most played game, how did i not know this???
0:03 pit & dark pit:
@powerguy3976 that counts more as two spears that connect to make a double-sided spear / bow (like darth maul's lightsaber in Star War)
Zenithian sword is second to only shulks and you can’t change my mind. Triple S for sure
10:58 Well Pyra and mythra are swords
the Ganondorf sword is from the Darknuts, first use was in a trailer for a darker themed LOZ after the OOT then MM but then came Wind Waker, now to keep their word, they made Twilight Princess and gave these big heavy swords to Darknuts, they even hold them in 1 hand
the editor does not understand how cool things made of cubes are
The fact that he did Kirby's up b is hilarious to me because it's actually not a sword at all, it's a boomerang blade that detaches from a hat.
I'd give it 2nd place after the Monodo but I agree it's super underrated
i think the master sword is absolutely perfect. it looks strong, but not in like a huge and obvious and obnoxious way like the buster sword, fusion sword, and masamune. it's elegant, beautiful, and a perfect blend between magical and realistic. it's great for a medieval army general to wield as he leads his soldiers into battle, whether it's against an enemy kingdom or a legion of evil monsters. if you see someone with this sword, you dont wannt mess with them because they will likely fuck you up. it's not too fancy to where it's silly, and the wielder wont look like they have it just because it's expensive. it looks like something an actual sword master would use. im not just saying this as a zelda fan, or as a gamer in general, but rather as a writer and director.
If you'd like to see why Nick is wrong on all accounts, check out literally any SwordTuber. Personally like Skallagrim, who does a lot of overanalyzing media and sword designs for how useful they'd be.
we're not ranking by usefulness (half of these weapons are magical ffs) but by coolness.
@@minasthirith6314 Usefulness is what makes it cool, look a things like the dragon quest sword that was last on the list, you can't tell me the sword wouldn't look just as bad ass if you kept everything the same but didn't have the silly hooks that would completely stop it from actually cutting through everything.
Swords can look cool and still be practical.
@@Zer0billion it's a holy magic sword forged in the heart of a volcano out of the remains of a slightly less holy magic sword and three chunks of mithril and a reckless use of a high level thunder spell. this sword doesn't 'completely stop from actually cutting through everything', _it is magically made_ to cut through everything. You completely missed the entire point if your explanation is just going to be "but it's magic"
You can make something cool and still look like something that could be real and functional, you don't have to, but practically makes the design cooler in my and many other people's opinions.
@@Zer0billion my point is that it doesn't need to be practical. Hell, the most well known swords are incredibly impractical.
Cloud's Buster Sword is just a giant slab of steel. Sephiroth's Masamune would break if it met anything but air. Do you know how flimsy a wooden sword would be? how about the Levin Sword?
they're not trying to make swords that look 'real' they're trying to make iconic swords.
Just because it's not practical for our world's logic doesn't mean it's not practical for theirs. Arbitrarily saying 'TCNick3 Is wrong, these swords all suck' simply because they're not 'practical' is just your opinion.
Note that I'm not saying your opinion is wrong. But don't declare it as the be all end all of sword debates.
