I first heard this song while watching the movie "Mr. Brooks", a psychological thriller. It gave me goosebumps it so meshed with what was happening on the screen. So I decided to put my own feminine spin on the song. Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for watching!!!
lYRICS:
I'd pull my weight if it made any difference
he gave his life for the nine million others
but on his graves written here lies Joseph
his country's gun and innocent soldier
fight your way out of this one
he grew a blood red vision for all their good intentions
he made an easy million from a foreign investment
he danced with the devils in beautiful buildings
affirmative action for a useful reunion
he'd change his name if it made any difference
now hes waiting in line for the lasting confession
but on his graves written here lies our son Joseph
his country's gun and innocent soldier
well fight your way out of this one
fight your way out of this one

This song was so perfect for the ending. Really stuck with me over the years.
Amy Barrett same I cant find another movie with this type of impact
My brother had gone to see Mr Brooks with his new gf, and she left like “it was ok.” And he comes to me and says he didn’t have this reaction. And went to see it the next weekend. I shook his hand at the end of the movie. Not a lot of movies you would shake someone’s hand for showing you.
Me too Amy B. Last night for no reason the riff popped into my head, had no idea what it was from. Hours of consideration and i finally found the source! I'm quite impressed with myself lol!
Jerod Ohlsen Isn’t it weird how that happens sometimes? Music has such an effect on our memories and vice versa, like knowing all the words to a song you haven’t heard in years.
Demi Moore great acting too
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change things I can; and wisdom to know the difference”
Amen.
Nice
Haha, just got done watching Mr brooks!
Thanx for reminding me. I sometimes forget.
@@jaredrockman504 same here.
sometimes it's the movies that bring us to the music via the soundtrack.
i had never heard of the Veils until I watched Mr. Brooks
either way, I'm glad you are here
me too..
Me 3
Exactly what hapoened to me! Great music! Great band!
Really underrated movie and a great song.
Rob H - the one with Kevin Costner? I can't think of the name...hes a serial killer. I really liked it...i have no idea why it got bad reviews.
@@jocelynm116 mr.Brooks
Awesome movie and great acting by Demi Moore
I heard this song the first time in Clive Barkers Dread!!
that can not be said enough, like I said up there with Donnie Darko, but not twisted like Clockwork Orange
"Why do you fight it so hard Earl?"
This song is chilling....and that scene in the movie when it plays...oh Boy!
Danielle Panabaker was so cold and chilling during that scene very different to her role in The Flash!
best scene by far...almost orgasmic her reaction
Just watched Mr. Brooks & had to find out who's responsible for this beautifully chilling song ❤️Just WOW!!!
Mr. Brooks is a fantastic movie - this is SO suitable for when she plunges the scissors into his neck - that really was unexpected. i love how she just looked on in awe.
He was having a dream.
It was just a dream.
Mr.Brooks !
Lol, yeees
Yes! that's the reason why i came here
We are all here because of Mr. Brooks
I came home that day drunk, my mom was watching a movie and this song was on. somehow drunk, I sat, silent and listened with my mother. I will always remember that moment. somehow it was warm in the house, as if I had eaten my house and the warmth remained in my stomach
Such an underrated song...went perfect with an underrated movie. Sucks that the drivel they call entertainment makes millions and gems like this go largely unnoticed.
Also heard this 1st on mr brooks. I cant hear this song without thinking of that scene and vice versa. The song and the movie both chilling but irresistible.
Yes you are correct
Eerie song, Costner always plays a better villan than romance movies. Great movie. Would love a sequel.
Would love to see a version with the daughter
If I remember right, they had a sequel in mind with the daughter being a serial killer as a storyline, but the first movie didn't do well critically, so they tanked the idea. Sad...so much shit they call "movies" out there but gems like this are classified as unsuccessful.
Underrated,I would think a song with such beauty would have millions of up votes.
Agreed
@Datsizer It's always ok to speak to yourself, and agree even. The issue is if you answer back.
Amazing reverb, little chords, endless arpeggios, nuclear toms...straight to vacuum. Wavy poetry, again.
The great songs grab you as soon as you hear them. This song is one of them. When I saw Mr. Brooks I left thinking, 'What is this song?' Amazing song. Love it
what ur describing its exactly what happened to me... this end song on the movie marked me for life
A thought provoking movie and closing song. The duality of Man and Woman will never be understood...
This was the perfect song for the ending scene I swear🥳🎉 I love watching it over the years
Music that leaves you with a wave of emotions and still is very thought provoking, outstanding voice..(Class)
Such an Excellent Choice of Song For The Serial Killer Movie. Mr Brooks! That scene is Just intense. Well Done
this song is on repeat its like being high with no drugs
underrated and the movie with saul goodman is incredible
Mr. Brooks brought me here. Seen the movie a hundred times but figured I'll add this song to my playlist
Heard it the first time in Clive Barkers Dread!!
Absolutely amazing!!
know the feeling. the first time i ever watched that movie and this particilar scene came on it gave me some kinda chills down my spine. and this song got etched to my skin ever since. love it, one underrated song and band.
the girl who tosses her hair just fits this song so much. I always come back for the hair toss.
FIGHT YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS ONE....kind of sounds like life sometimes....:)
Mr. Brooks is really a hidden gem of dark movies and classic. Up there with Donnie Darko. I'm not a huge fan of Dan Cook, but Kevin Costner gives it a seal of approval, plus as usual a solid performance.
I LOVE HIS VOICE......I LOVE THE SONG!!
One of my all time favorite songs
*THIS SONG IS VERY FRUSTRATING, IT REMINDS ME WAKING UP ON THE BEST PART OF AN AWESOME DREAM. :-) :-)*

Finn Andrews, lead singer and songwriter of London based band The Veils. His father, Barry Andrews was a member of 80's bands like XTC and Shriekback and later went on to play with David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Robert Fripp. You can find this song on his debut album, The Runaway Found 2004.
