Hi there. It sounds like the tent failure was because the pegs pulled out and that put an enormous strain on everything else. Have you considered using descent size screw in ground anchors? I think they would be your best bet.

We have 2 canvas tents that we use outside from spring to fall. We made an outside wooden frame that the tent sits in and is attached to. It is a lot more secure and doesn't flop around so much. You could also put a tent fly on the outside of the frame to protect the tent from moisture. Just an idea that worked for us!!

On the fear of things falling on the rig, that makes perfect sense to me. We're full-time in a fifth wheel in the USA, and we've seen a bit. At our last place, there were lots of big trees, and one night a storm caused a huge branch to fall from fairly high up onto someone else's trailer. It destroyed a covered deck they had next to the trailer, and broke through the trailer roof in multiple places. We were told it was totaled. At another place, a much smaller branch fell from high up and hit our trailer, leaving a couple pieces on the roof, others on the ground. No major damage, but it sure did make some noise. We've been in a wind storm where we felt the need to pull our slides in, and later found a lot of damage in the campground, including street lamps that had their globes blown off and destroyed. Even houses are at risk from serious storms, but RVs are so much more fragile.
It's great that you're getting better equipment for making your videos, but I really haven't had any trouble hearing or understanding you in any of your videos. Your videos don't have high "production value", like a very commercial Hollywood kind of thing would be, but IMO that's more of a benefit than a problem. It makes your videos more "real", and so more interesting.
It's a shame about the tent. I hope you can salvage that. I look forward to further progress. Oh, and the hats are fine. In case you didn't realize it, when you post on RUclips, there are people who will complain about literally *anything* in your videos. It's good to read all the comments, while you still can, but don't take them all to heart. One channel I watch, some viewers were complaining about the presenter's toupee. He doesn't wear one. Others, people complain about them not wearing recommended safety equipment. They do, so now they keep explaining that, again and again.

I love your hats too ! My dad bless him , he died in 2010 , he would always wear hats when he was working , baseball hats back to front , beany hats when it was hot ! and a deerstalker with flaps down in the winter , in his precious shed , where he loved to be , doing diy , and fixing things. Hats give us character , and i think only brave people wear a hat , as silly people love to poke fun at them , but really , they are just jealous they can't carry a hat off . Congrats on the award 100K is a hell of a milestone. The diaster with the tent. Just using the bottom tyedowns is never enough, your not sheltered enough, (its a sail!!) look at caravan storm straps for an awning, also strong guyropes to spresd the load on the framework, dont abandon them, addapt.

I'm so sorry you've had emails hacked, etc. Please remember there's wonderful people out there too,and I hope you don't have to go through that again. One day at a time. You could use a shipping forwarder to get the parts from the USA. The shop sends it to a company who then forwards on to you.
We’ve had many touring caravans over the years. The bed cushions spreading can be sorted with a memory foam mattress topper. It just irons out all the pits 👍

I would recommend anchoring your van chassis solid to the ground - caravans have been blown away in storms - and erecting a secondary roof above the van (even with tent fabric) to protect against rain, sun, dirt & algae. Wish you lots of fun and luck with your plans.
Just a tip on how you can increase your income; Open some area of your land to RV-and van campers. They (we) have all we need onboard the vehicle, just need somewhere to park safely, to empty the toilet and somewhere to get fresh wather (via a hose). If electrisity is awaleble, you can charge far more pr night. Also, a lot of campers are seasonal campers, and are in need of somewhere to park their RV or trailer during of season/ winter. Then you get some of season income. With this kind of campers you get a income with very Little extra work.

Get yourself a memory foam topper to go on your mattress cost you around 60 pound you won't regret it. we bought our caravan new in Canada where we live and the first thing we did before we went away in it was to put the memory foam topper on the bed.

Honestly gutted about the tent 🥲We even went and bought mattresses last week and furniture for it. Fingers crossed we can get all the poles re-welded and the tie downs that ripped off re-attached somehow!

It’s such a shame what happened to the tent😢 When we were doing a road trip in our Motorhome we were always looking for somewhere quiet and not full of vans, just to stop overnight. We didn’t need facilities as we had everything on board. Have a look at Brit Stop. Rent a couple of parking spaces for motor homes to overnight stop might bring in a little cash
Love this, we spent 6 years in our caravan on our 20 acre plot and had the best 6 years ever, we still have the land and livestock, but when I reached 60 we bought a little cottage, that was our biggest mistake……we should have stayed on the land……keep up the great work guys

A top tip I was given when I started as an engineer, is when buying tools, is buy the cheapest you can. If it breaks, or wears out, then buy an expensive one. Yes you can end up buying twice. But sometimes you will be surprised how long a cheap tool will last. And never buy more tools than you need. These tool tart mechanics with car size toolboxes, will only have used 10% of its contents. The rest is just willy waving.
