Why dont we have Artist that can sing like this anymore. If I could go back in time for just a little while I would. Just to hear all the good music from back in the day. Wow.
Great southern rock band from the 70's. They had some great songs such as "Imaginary Lover", "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight", "So Into You", "Large Time" (tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd), "Do It Or Die" & "Spooky".
I come here for the music...I stay for the love. These songs that allow us to see the love between you two is really beautiful. Please remember to show your love and appreciation for each other often.
Growing up this song was the coolest, driving with the windows down DAM! memories...you also have to try - Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter #23 same downbeat they both came out in 1977
Such an underrated group with all their epic tracks. I've seen them live 6 of 7 times since 1972. Some early bangers are Champaign Jam, I'm not Gonna Let It Bother me Tonight, Spooky and Imaginary Lover...
As a 70's child I can say we loved, laughed, cried, fought deeply about everything we did, with all we had and it came out in the music of the day.. Love it what we chased everyday...
This was a jamming song. Other great songs from them " spooky"" imaginary lover" I'm not going to let it bother me tonight" also Check out the group " Exile" kiss you all over.
Once again, there's nothing like the 70s. I've always wondered who was the group but at the sametime I heard this song alot. Definitely rock/soul combination 👍🏾✊🏾
Yes, definitely. I was a kid when this came out. I heard this song on Rock radio. Strangely, lived around the corner from a Black radio station. I asked a DJ if they had this song. He initially said no, but they actually did. The label sent it in a plain white sleeve and white label. I told him to check it out and play it. He did, and locally it became very popular on Black radio. The same would happen with Pablo Cruise "Whatcha Gonna Do?" Great music knows no boundaries!!
Hey guys, love this reaction. Had my first date with my future wife (44 yrs together, 40 years married) on New Year’s Eve, 1977/78 at an Atlanta Rhythm Section concert. Still going strong, y’all!,
I saw them in Palm Beach for their New Years Eve Champagne Jam, with The Guess Who opening. That was great fun~ They also played my Grad Night at Disney World.
Loved this and danced with the man who would be my husband! I was 14 and he was 20! NO LOL MINDS IN GUTTER! BUT THIS FELT GOOD AND STILL DOES ONLY I DANCE ALONE AS HE WENT ON HOME AND IS WAITING !! THANKS GUYS!! I AM 65!!
I'm from Macon, GA, and I saw them many, many times. The lead singer, Ronnie Hammond, married one of my friends. "Imaginary Lover" {never lets you down} is one of their greatest.
That was beautiful guys. I have heard that song million times on the radio when I was younger. But listening to it now, slowing it down a little and paying attention to the lyrics has really helped me to appreciate this song even more. Wow, that took me to another world for a minute. :)
A Great Southern Rock/R & B band who are the most underrated group in music history. Definitely one of my favorite bands. This was a treat watching you guys react to this song.
Mel I swear to God we are music twins!!. I love how you catch and appreciate the "little" things. Much Love to the both of you... My favorite reactors hands down!
Being born, raised and still living in Georgia, we’re proud of our Georgia boys. Love me some ARS. Ronnie Hammond’s voice was SO awesome. R. I. P. Ronnie.
This song was THE slow jam at high school dances in the mid-late 70s!...ARS has a string of bangers and slow jams: "Stormy (as Classics IV)" "Spooky (as Classics IV and ARS)" "Imaginary Lover" "Champagne Jam" "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" "Do It Or Die" "Alien"
ARS has some great songs. Their cover of "Spooky" (Classics IV) is fantastic. "Imaginary Lover" and "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" are also fire.
@@sparky6086 Good to know. But I think if it's a much better version even though I like the original as well. The band I was in during the 80s did a cover of the ARS version. It was lots of fun!
YES YES YES. I have been requesting this song for a year now with the reactors I follow and finally its gets played. Such a great vibe. My all time favorite. Thank you guys so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it too. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
This song brings back so many memories growing up in the 70s I love Atlanta Rythm Section, still listening today. Love the music yall react to., so glad I found you guys🎧🎸🙂
1972 was a very great year. ✌🤘💞💞 So into you was the song the boys were singing to the girls in the smoke section of the school yard. Yes we were allowed to smoke at school.
Aw yes! This is me and my guys song from when we met 26 years ago! It was immediate! Played it over and over- love the song AND the lyrics fit us PERFECTLY!!! And it was on baby!! Another great by them is “Imaginary Lover!”
Oh the memories, high school, mad crush on a certain guy, dancing in my room at night while hugging my pillow to this song, imagining fevered teenage hormone things going on with this fantasy guy and me...ha!! He never knew I existed, sigh, but strangely it's still a great memory cause Lord, what a good song.
Ronnie Hammond was a great singer. Macon, Georgia has produced some great musicians. This song is 🔥!! Love that such songs are part of the soundtrack of my life.
Yes yes yes! Great one from the 70’s!!! ❤️ Imaginary Lover next 😊 By the way, THIS is how you get a girl; not with what the music industry puts out today.
Shawn, it's so sweet that you find this song is one you would sing to Mel. You will find a lot of the older music speaks volumes as if you wrote it yourself. I know a lot of songs have lyrics that I relate to, would say to someone, etc.... to the point I have sent songs to people to say what I want to say quite a few times in my life. "Music says things that words cannot express"
One of my favorite concerts was ARS with Wet Willie. Saw them together in 1979. They both put on a helluva show. ARS stretched their songs out live, making for some killer jams. "Neon Nights" and "Another Man's Woman" are a couple of my favorites.
This song always gives me goose bumps,it was written by Robert Nix(the drummer for ARS)about Leslie Hawkins. She was one of the Honkettes,a trio of women who sang for Lynyrd Skynyrd.Nix saw her for the first time just as the song describes and instantly fell in love with Hawkins, who was stunningly beautiful and remains so till this day, well into her 70's.
Yes, it was a good time. Guys weren't afraid to say how much they loved their woman.
Why dont we have Artist that can sing like this anymore. If I could go back in time for just a little while I would. Just to hear all the good music from back in the day. Wow.
A little wine, weed, and this music..I love the 70s!
My Father in Law was the Drummer. RIP Robert
He brought a lot of people happiness!! That band was great!!
I didn't know Nix had passed away. RIP. He was a master of his art.
@@hog7203 Yes Robert passed in a Hospital in Memphis, His Daughter and I saw him a few weeks before he passed
That's great! So awesome bro.
As a drummer , perhaps top 3 drummers ever.. one of the hardest to copy...
Great group along with Ambrosia, Firefall, Player, Orleans, Little River Band and so on
This was a #1 on both R&B and Pop charts. Pretty sweet.
And Doraville, Homesick, and Champagne Jam.
"They just don't make 'em like this anymore." As a 63-year-old guy, you're living in my world. God bless.
I love these sexy, hypnotic songs. "Imaginary Lover" is another one you guys might like.
They will definitely love it!👍
I sure wish I had found someone to cherish me like Shawn cherishes you. At 53, I give up, but it is lovely to see🙂
I come here for the music...I stay for the love. These songs that allow us to see the love between you two is really beautiful. Please remember to show your love and appreciation for each other often.
I always liked their music. Good vocals and harmonies. They had some great songs.
Shawn, you are SO RIGHT, they just can't make music like this anymore. what a shame !
A really cool 70's sound
Growing up this song was the coolest, driving with the windows down DAM! memories...you also have to try - Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter #23 same downbeat they both came out in 1977
i agree
Yes!
Another one from 77 in this style was from The Climax Blues Band called Couldn’t Get It Right.
So into you came out in 72 babe. ✌💞🤘
Yes! Strawberry Letter 23 will be my jam until I leave this earth. I was just listening in the car with the windows down yesterday!
Imaginary Lover by them is 🔥
This is one of my most favorite songs EVER! The vibes are so seductive.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yeah...This was playing on the radio during my childhood! Always amazing vibes. When people still knew how to write songs!
That's an oldie and a goodie. Haven't heard that on in a long time. Thank you!
Such an underrated group with all their epic tracks. I've seen them live 6 of 7 times since 1972. Some early bangers are Champaign Jam, I'm not Gonna Let It Bother me Tonight, Spooky and Imaginary Lover...
I really, really ,miss this stuff❣️
I grew up in the 70s to incredible music like this. Probably the sexiest song ever. If you want the mood at the right time, you play THIS!
wow, this brings back some great memories of days past.
Sometimes just a quiet groove is what is needed.
Once again, there's nothing like the 70s. I've always wondered who was the group but at the sametime I heard this song alot. Definitely rock/soul combination 👍🏾✊🏾

Didnt want that to end! Don't pause, just go straight into Atlanta Rhthym Sections song Spooky.
That was beautiful guys. I have heard that song million times on the radio when I was younger. But listening to it now, slowing it down a little and paying attention to the lyrics has really helped me to appreciate this song even more. Wow, that took me to another world for a minute. :)
First heard this about 43 years ago in Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺 SMOOTH SOUTHERN AMERICAN BLUES, one of my favourite songs.
Thanx for this. I’d forgotten how good this is !
"Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" by ARS should be your next one. Just as relevant today as it was in 1978.
70's have the best. Dive into it
A Great Southern Rock/R & B band who are the most underrated group in music history. Definitely one of my favorite bands. This was a treat watching you guys react to this song.
Similar band is Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds, Fallin In Love--country-soul!
I forgot this song even existed, great choice, ahead of the competition on this one.
Great song, thanks for the flashback.
I was there for for one of their first gigs. I was working in a club in Atlanta and they needed to polish the act in front of folks. It was awesome.
I love this song. I never actually saw who sang it. Wow they’re soooo groovy and soulful!! 👌🏼
Funny that you played this , this is the CD in my car right now ! You guys are the best channel of all the reactors ! Love you
These guys are great, long time no hear
I remember this song. Driving to this on my fm/ am 65 chevy station wagon radio. Lololol🏝😂
Listen to the Atlanta Rhythm Section perform "Spooky".
This one is fire! Good choice guys!

Saw Atlanta Rhythm Section multiple times in person. Amazing!
Thank you for reminding me of this song!
Shawn loves Mel so much
Living in Atlanta, we used to listen to these guys practice in a little town called Doraville. They have a song about it by the same name.
Imaginary Lover is another great song by The Atlanta Rhythm Section.
Spooky! For sure please
ARS has some great songs. Their cover of "Spooky" (Classics IV) is fantastic. "Imaginary Lover" and "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" are also fire.
Some of the Atlanta Rhythm Section were in the Classics IV, so I think of their version of "Spooky" as a "semi-cover".
@@sparky6086 Good to know. But I think if it's a much better version even though I like the original as well. The band I was in during the 80s did a cover of the ARS version. It was lots of fun!

Thanks for the memories kids. Spooky by them is great. R.I.P. Ronnie Hammond-Singer. Paul Goddard-Bass. God Bless.

One of my favorites, they played that song sooooooo much in the 70s on the radio
They do the best version of Spooky I've EVER heard!
That's another one to listen after the kids hit the rack! :)
