Hi Maddie, just leaving a comment to say thanks for this great guide :D for a new podder, was great to see clear showcase on just how to apply a new pod, especially the part about choosing a site and pinching the skin before insertion procedure.
thanks o7
Great demo for new podders. I have my pump choice down to omnipod or Tslim x2.This has been a good peek into the process of insering the pod.:) You could probably get a screen protector for a similar size smartphone for $2-3 bucks on Ebay that would fit your pdm.
Glad this video was helpful! I am currently looking for a pdm screen protector. Hopefully I’ll find one that’s good quality and reasonably priced!! 👍🏻🙌🏻
I'm gonna switch next month to the omnipod dash after 8 years medtronic. I tested it before but then it didn't work. But i'm gonna try again because of the freedom it gives with swimming and taking a shower without disconnecting tubes and having a pump hanging around you. Thanx for the helpful revieuw, it's a good preperation for using te omnipod!
you are most welcome!! Good luck switching over!! :)
Great video! I am thinking about moving to the Dash.
Thank you!!
GOOD JOB KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
Thank you, I learned something new. Stay safe
😊
I have united healthcare and I'm starting the omnipod
Wow you are super well managed I’m still new but you are just amazing
Thank you Rachel! :)
Champagne bubbles! I love that lol
It’s so true!! Lol
Many thanks for the great video! Starting on the Dash on December 3rd myself. X
Thank you Chris for watching best of luck with your transition to the pump! :)
That you for your demo.
My son is waiting for his Omnipod. It should be shipped to him soon. The doctor doesn’t know which Omnipod he will be getting. It will be like Christmas when we get our box.
You’re very welcome!! Enjoy the Podder life!! It’s amazing!!
This was so helpful thank you so much!
You are welcome! Thank you for watching! :)
Maddie you are awesome! I love all the details of your videos. 👍😊🧡
Thank you so much!
Great videos, I also have the Dexcom G6 but still have an old Omnipod, since the Omnipod Dash won't be available in Germany until October ... But I already have information about it. Thank you 🤗
Thank you Marcel for commenting! I hope you are well!
@@MaddieNielsen Yes, everything is fine, I hope with you too. Corona will soon be over, thanks to the vaccine, hold out a little longer. 😉
Hi Maddie. Thanks for this interesting tutorial. I'm thinking about changing from a DanaRS to a Pod. Good to see how that works for you. I just have one question: let's assume you have 20u left in the pod after deactivation - are these 20u lost or can you get them out of the pod again? I know the risks because it may got too warm or so but just want to know if it's possible or not.
All the best!
Marco
Hi Marco! You can certainly take insulin out of a deactivated pod, but you do still run the risk of having warmer insulin or the insulin being older and not as effective as putting new insulin in a new pod.
AUDIO isn't loud enough
Love the video keep up the good work
Thanks Marty. Currently on Tandem t slim x2 but getting ready to start the Omni pod 5. I don't want tubing anymore so we will see how the Omni is for me. Are you still on the Omni pod dash?
I am no longer on the Omnipod DASH but I was on the pump for 1.5 years. If you have any questions feel free to let me know. 😊
does the outer thigh hurt when you sleep i put dex or omni there it hurt
my fav spot is arm lower back and stomach
I’ve never tried my lower back. I don’t find the outer thigh painful, it’s just more annoying for putting on pants. Once I switched to placing pods and sensors more toward the front of my thigh, I noticed it doesn’t get caught on things as much.
I am curious as to why you don't fill the pod all the way. Doesn't it hold 200 units? :)
Hi April! When I was on the Omnipod, I never used 200 units in 3 days so I only filled it for what I needed for 72 hours or 3 days! I hope this makes sense!
Great video
Thanks!
I’m curious why you don’t use a new lancet on every test.
I usually just forget to change it. Plus I don’t finger prick all the time so it doesn’t dull the lancet as quickly. 😊
So what's the advantages of the dash versus the regular omnipod? You mentioned bt and the pdm looks more slicker, but are the pods different?
Good question. I should make a video on this but the main difference is that the pods on the dash communicate via Bluetooth. I will make a video comparing the two systems as the dash was just released in April!! 😊
NOT loud enough
