- Legendary. Cult classic. Iconic. Cheap as can be. The watch owned, strangely enough, by both Osama Bin Laden and Barack Obama. There are a lot of different ways to describe the Casio F-91W, but my favourite way is calling it the best selling digital watch of all time.

Wearing the Casio F-91W in 2022 feels delightfully retro, it is the antithesis of a modern smart watch, which is one of my favourite things about it.

It's the perfect example of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Even the most snooty watch collector with watches the price of a car still love this thing and have it in their collections. It's truly one of the best ever made.

I really wanted to get one for myself, but I realized that I needed something with a larger display and font size (I wear corrective glasses), so ended up ordering a W800H. I still bought a F91W for my 10-y/o nephew and he loves it. Great video, thank you for taking the time to produce this awesome content!
Time accuration in f-w91 that I own is about +/- one second per week. Got two in different colors, bought another two today.
I always like to compare this watch with Rolex and functionally, it surpasses the latter. More accurate than Chronometer Certified, come with Day Date function, Daytona Chronograph in the form of stop watch function, added alarm function, can swim with it though is only 30m WR. Arguably the only watch for life one needs. c",)

It's not easy to find these in Belgium but while traveling it's easier. Only now do I see that my preference for this watch, so light that one forgets it, is shared by so many.
Such a great watch
Got the F91W, for it's iconic legend and easiness in wearing and also went for F105W (legendary as well, but not as much), as an evening/night option. Basically same design and minimalism, but definitely better luminescence. Love them both. They still got many years of production ahead.
PS: prices are CRAZY, for the value: 13 USD for F91W and 17 USD for F105W - in Romania.

This was the first watch I ever owned, my dad got it for me for my 7th or 8th birthday. Had a few since and none ever broke even though I surfed regularly with it.

This watch is a bit of a favourite with Police and Paramedics, as it is dirt-cheap, easy to scrub clean (few nooks and crannies) and sterile-gloves slip easily over without snagging.
I love this watch! I just ordered the f84w as well.

The F-91W to me is the quintessential watch all watch lovers and collectors have to have. If you don't know the F-91W then you don't know watches.

F91 Like its chrome twin, the A158 is an outdated model that is procrastinated.
Infinitely better at similar price the W-202 in direct competition to the F91 and even better the minimalist all-black LW-204 which in my opinion represents the culmination of cost/benefits in the Casio digital watch genre, and in fact exceeds in sense and "elegance" also the ultra-thin A700 series and the A1000 series with steel case which improve only some style and backlight. but offer only old F91 module functions under the hood.
The W-202-1AVEF or even better the LW-204-1BEF is very similar in price to F-91W-1YEG but they are better from all substantial points of view in this kind of product:
1 resistance to immersion in water 50 meters 5 bar
2 effective backlight in the dark or dim, the display reads really well
3 countdown function (which the other does not have)
4 improved alarm set function and flashing (I think this days 5 alarms are a standard to have)
5 slightly larger display characters
6 recessed adjust button, it is impossible to lose the setting accidentally
7 larger and more accessible buttons
8 case without sharp edges lozenges and frames = less collection of dirt = less friction and entanglement with hair and clothing sleeves = more comfort in prolonged use.
9 slightly longer strap if needed at large wrists
the W-202-1AVEF is the direct and updated "competitor" of the F91W if you roughly like that style with the freaking colored writing and blue border ... it takes it up a lot, it is similarly more of a daily work watch.
The LW-204-1BEF in this class, is better and particular than the W-202 from which derives for an advanced and clean minimalism of the display (the display is also inverted) and the totally smooth strap. It is a watch that could easily be used with discretion even for more elegant and formal occasions without jarring.
Considerations:
These CASIO Collection product lines, are all made in China, the F91W and its more elegant wearable "steel" twin A158 is an old but extremely effective price watch with minor flaws of youth such as poor backlighting, lack of account backwards, the excessive ease of activation adjust the tearing of the hairs and the scratching of objects and the pulling of threads etc.
New originals to spend less it is difficult to find better, but often F91 and A158 given the numbers are also very counterfeit and it is easy to find yourself with a clone in hand.
In my opinion, in this genre the best cost / benefit alternative since today even microwaves have the clock is the LW-204-1BEF because chromed (A158) or black (F91) we always talk about a digital watch with a resin case that must have functions and be comfortable: 24grams and without thoughts of water etc., the discreet minimalist elegance, but the functionality and practicality that analog watches will never offer, in this genre is more important.

It looks good, although it is 90's design, functional and ligth-weight. Do you really need a lot of distractions ? I have phone and it takes most other functions - not more or less; and you don't feel it most of the time.

I was wearing the f-91w the day I finally decided to kick my grandpa out of my house for good. I remember checking the time right before I got right in his face and started screaming my brains out at him. I remember it was 3:11am and I had finally just had enough of his freeloading ways, he constantly wanted to drink a bottle of water. Ok! If you drink all the damn water what am I supposed to drink? My own piss? And he constantly left cabinets open due to his bad memory (so he claimed) wtf am I supposed to do? Just bust my head open on a cabinet door every time I walk in to the kitchen? Guess I’ll just be thirty and have head injuries everyday.. thanks grandpa! No, this is MY house and it’s beyond time for you to go. Screw him honestly.

1:45 Bullshit. I go swimming routinely with mine. The average swimming pool is 3 meters deep. This is 50m resistant. I never take mine off. My wife keeps one wrapped INSIDE the shower under next to the shower head.
