I am just moving from tropical fish to having a reef tank. Watched loads of videos so far. I came across your series whilst researching the eco reef. How are you getting on with it now you have had it a few years?
Thank you so much for watching the channel. If you are moving from Freshwater you will be incredible. I had never had a fish tank before setting up this saltwater nano. It's all about taking your time. I've just posted a video of the tank last week on the channel. I have a tank on order the aqua marin 900 but it can take upto 12 weeks for delivery 😔 not sure about documenting the progress if do I will probably start a different channel and probably only Instagram if anything.
Well done on the scape! Killer rock!I just went with the Marco Rocks Reef Saver Dry rock. I have to wait for the Coraline algae to grow but i did save some cash. I spent 120 US on about 40-50 lbs. I will be using some epoxy and glue to create some nice swim throughs and hideouts! New sub here! I will follow along! Cool video man!

Awesome set up, I have the same equipments more or less, just an Aqua Medic dosing pump and Hydra 26. I don't have the 3D basket, don't mind to clean the sock every few days. But I highly recommend the 3D ware and to had an extra silencer for the skimmer. Really like your rocks, but I would go a bit higher. Have fun with the nano.
I was thinking exactly that about the aquascape when I was looking at it again 😂. Might need to add another plating rock or something. Will have another go at the weekend. I heard the skimmer is noisy! I'm adding the water at the weekend, so hopefully it's ok, but if not I'm going to add a silencer too. Really appreciate the advice and support. For me the skimmer was a bit noisy at the beginning but then it got quieter over time. Glued the impellors to the rotors on both pumps did make a difference with the noise to. And the 3D ware did stop the trikeling noise of water.
Love the scape mate, the tank is also amazing how much have you spent on it so far? It’s also good to see that a beginner is considering where the corals are going to be placed from the start, I’ll take the blame, I didn’t consider where I was going to put my corals before I set up my scape lol
Cheers mate. Just trying my best to get it right to find out how hard it is to run a reef tank. I was worried the aquascape was abit low, but we will see. It's all learning at the moment. @@jaysrealreefuk it’s no where near as hard as people say it is fella, just time consuming, the aquascape looks beautiful, I’d say you have no problem with it however I didn’t see how close the rocks are to the side of the tank, you want at least 2 inches away from the glass just so that you can place corals where ever you want you have added a lot of aquascape, in mine I have 1 kg of rocks but mine is only 57 litres
I bought the Red Max Nano all in one system which comes with the Reef Led 50. I wanted the Radions from the start so I bought the Radions and sold the Reef Led so it was only a 150 to 200 upgrade for the best light possible. hi mate! may I check which brand/product of bio media cup are you using? can the red sea media cup fit in?
I've reverted back to using the standard Red Sea Max Nano filter sock. It works well for me :)
How far is your heater sticking out of the water? I bought the same heater but mine wont sit all the way down to its desired line
