Thanks man Just took my car to Ferrari dealer. I paid 1500$ for oil change And they were asking 20000$ for few repairs I just did oil change came home and checked My F1 pump not leaking Engine mount is good no shacking Your video is very helpful I will do it myself or take it to different mechanics not Ferrari Thanks for responding
Good video. I have the same car, and the fluid for the transmission/ differential is together in the rear diff. You can access the dip stick by taking the diffuser off. The F1 fluid is in the rear as well in front of the right tail lights. The brake fluid in the front is not connected to the clutch.
Hey Daniel love the videos man. I just got one and I’m in Austin. The buyers guide helped me a lot. Let’s catch up soon. By the way I’m on 2222 and city park
Keep records on all maintenance, service, and repair. On older exotics, doing most of the service chores yourself isn't going to effect value cause they've already deprecated significantly.
could I ask you two more question? 1) are supercars in general an "oil eaters". I want to say:"is the oil consumption very high in high performance engines?" 2)has F430 a check light on the dashboard that indicate the reaching of minimum oil level? thank you dear friend
F430 2007 30k miles - I am having difficulty checking the engine oil on the dipstick with the engine running & hot - cos its foamy - with air bubbles in it - but nice clean oil slightly above the top mark (seemingly) - no warning lights - I dont remember having this issue before - but only had the car 6 months any ideas? thanks
@@normalguysupercar castrol edge 10/60 "supercar" = recc for some ferraris, but when I look, not specifically for the F430. Just noted - if I let it warm up just a few mins then I can read it (not foamy) at about 70% full - and seen that some of the other subscriber's YT videos also show foamy oil, but they dont comment on it. Any thoughts most welcome though.
Well then you're correct sir... time for a twin turbo kit. www.undergroundracing.com/vehicles/ferrari-f430.html Who needs a retirement fund anyway! Hahaha
447 is a great whp number, what does an F430 weigh? I had a dodge ram srt10 that makes 411 at the wheels but weighs around 5000lbs. You make very good honest videos bud, keep it up!
Daniel Hurlbert quick one on the mini. My partner had the Cooper soft top - same colour scheme, but with auto transmission. If anyone's thinking of doing the same, think twice. Whilst BMW usually does a good auto box, for some reason the Mini auto (that we had) was best described as FUBAR. A decidedly clunky experience.
@@normalguysupercar keep up the good work my friend, love from uk , i love all your videos and it takes great balls and talent to touch a car lik ethat
Appreciate The info and your videos. I just picked up a 2008 F430 with 3000 miles on it so this kind of information definitely helps with routine maintenance. Check out my channel sometime you'll be seeing some of what I do to the Ferrari on there soon
good stuff Daniel, just be careful with the Engine oil, It has to be European Full Syn... Can not be any full syn 5w40, its all about the base oils, I would recommend you the Kendall Euro 5w40 that meets also Ferrari requirements made with PAO and Esther base oils, other 5w40's no Europeans are just Group 3 base oils and you will not get the best for the Ferrari high temp engines...the Red Line oils are also very good.... cheers.
Umm you always want your oil full not on low or half filled , engine oil must always be a maximum level possible. Everyone should know this better then having half or no oil because if it’s low already then something happens your fucked R.I.P engine and good luck buying a new or even second hand engine
Love your videos. Thanks for making these videos and make it clear for the rest of us to see how these machines work!
Always doing a great job with the Ferrari videos! Keep it up!
Daniel Hurlbert can't wait too see your around town!
Love these owner perspective videos on the 430 :D

Very informative, i'm sharing this.
Great value. Thanks.

Normal Guy Supercar absolutely! Just got the coating done today.
Normal Guy Supercar send me you Fb or Instagram.
Daniel hit me up with your Instagram do we can coordinate that beer. Thanks bud!
My FB and IG are in the description. Been on vacation with no internet far the past few weeks...
Thanks, would you mind explain about 458? steering fluid and others if possible? thanks
Ok
Hey looking for some help, you have shown that the service manual says what products to use, what pages are they on as i can’t find them
Thanks
Use the search function. I don't know off the top of my head.
What does doing your own maintenance do for a Ferrari's resale value? Do buyers look for service records from a certified Ferrari mechanic?
Ethan
Sure provided they are not fudged..
These vids are proof

Hi
Transmission oil for check up have dipstick?
Or same with clutch?
Thanks
Trans does have a dipstick but you only really need to check it if you have a leak or just changed the fluid.
Temp of 130 degrees is C or F?..stick with metric..should always put a blanket over fenders when in that fluid box
F
Does this light car really need power steering?
It's still 3000lbs... So it does help.
Normal Guy
Yes it does.. but rear engine..
you should install cold air intake on next video
ok how about exhaust system and delete the cats from underneath
have you had it tuned for the new mods?

You said coolant reservoir. That means you can check it when it’s hot. Reservoirs have little pressure.
Either way I'm not opening it hot. Don't need to risk it.
There is no risk with a reservoir.
