I am not sure about the rule for the players standing on the sides but i would assume they can’t cross over either right? They all moved before the ball left his hands it wasn’t like spida was the only offender in that play
No, that's not the rule. The shooter is the only one who has to wait til the ball makes contact with the rim/backboard. Everyone else can take off when it leaves his hands and they simply have it perfectly timed.

Spider man was always nice
i knew he was capable of this ever since thunder series against westbrook and pg13
@@amonpancakes77777 I knew Donovan could score but at the level I didn't think so.
Just glad that the highest post-Kobe81 scoring game is Spida instead of Devin Jenner's now
Donovan Became an All Time Great!
he could’ve scored like 85 maybe 90 if he actually did something in the first half
@2:24 how do you guard that.... look how quick he picks up the ball and puts up a shot off the step back.... DEADLY.
what a performance! all those free throws made for such an entertaining experience....
How much free throws did this man shoot
@@EazyTheRecon 22 free throws. Klay Thompson just got like 56 on 2 FTs
There was like a straight minute of freethrows in a row
Hater
@@arthurmorganx9465 Klay just hit a bunch of 3s and jumpers. Spider was doing a lot of his work down in the paint this game, big difference
if he was hitting his shots at the start of the game, he could have passed Kobe's 81
Say what you will about the free throws but I’ve seen plenty of guys get more in a game and not even drop close to 71
It's amazing performance. 71 pts/ 8 rebounds/ 11 assists and FG 65%. He was just 2 rebounds shy of another historic triple double this season.
Edit: 71/8/11, not 71/11/10 as i wrote initially. Anyway, he made one of the best performance ever. It's amazing to see these unexpected performances, it was similar to the one Doncic did a few days ago. Same situation: rebound after missing a free throw and he scores to tie the game and force overtime.
Totally cooked that FT line
Free throws in a game are so important lol dude made so many to contribute to his 71
Really looking at it if you want to call lane violation on spida wouldn’t you also have to call it on vuc because they were in the lane before the hall even left his hands. I am not sure about the rule for the players standing on the sides but i would assume they can’t cross over either right? They all moved before the ball left his hands it wasn’t like spida was the only offender in that play
You’d have to call it on every free throw in every game. No one follows that rule
No, that's not the rule. The shooter is the only one who has to wait til the ball makes contact with the rim/backboard. Everyone else can take off when it leaves his hands and they simply have it perfectly timed.
@@andrewluce5264, no, you don't understand the rule. Everyone can leave when it leaves the shooter's hands except the shooter, who can't leave until it makes contact with the rim or board. In fact, Alex Caruso got called for two lane violations in this game. So it does get called. The rule absolutely gets followed.
@Andrew Luce NBA L2M, as expected, rules that Jarrett Allen should've been called for a travel with 12.1 seconds left in regulation and that Donovan Mitchell committed a lane violation on his putback that forced OT. Also a travel 🤷♂️ 2nd game in a row refs screw out the Bulls.
@@Frank_Cohen reread my OG comment my good sir🙏🏾 I mentioned this because if you pause it on just before the release there were bulls players in the lane before spida let go of the ball. If the rule is that they have to stay behind the line before he shoots then there is clearly a violation on the side players first and then Donovan’s violation is afterwards. So how could the refs in good standing, call his violation but not the others?
16 points in first half... 55 in 2nd half/1OT 🥶
No more denying after this, this guy a superstar.
Let’s Gooooo!!
WHOLE INDUSTRY is afraid of bro🙌🏾💯

Donovan free throw Mitchell is killing it on the Cavs!
Dicksucker, appreciate greatness when you witness it
@@Yoodoooo you want to suck my dick?? Just kidding I have your mom for that!
25FT's, insane amount.
71 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists... My guy just put up 2K numbers.
