  • Look, I have to be honest. I cobbled this episode together while away photographing on assignment in Davos, Switzerland. Not quite Europe street photography POV, but you get the idea!
What better place for some street photographer tips than in one of the safest places in the world where there were armed police and snipers all over the rooftops?
In todays episode I show you TWO street photography techniques using light and reflection to make something a little uncanny.
BUT..... this kind of thing is fun, but its early days stuff. Setting a static background and waiting for folk to walk into your frame.... pffff. It's just a little trick. To really nail street photography you have to be grabbing those fleeting moments, so go get 'em!
And don't be all over me on this in the comments for the quality of the street photographs! I literally shot all these snaps in 90 minutes in-between some pretty intense assignment work, but you know what? It was fun! And sometimes having fun with photography is all you really need, right?

Quite right, it doesn't matter if the pics are rubbish if you're having fun. If it's not fun, what's the point?

@@PicturesOnMyMind Yeah. I've played around with reflection shots as well - it's surprising what can appear right in front of you that you could never have envisaged. I don't have one of big giant heads in a car - that shot really jumped out at me. Might try and get my own version. 😄
