Thank you so much! It was very helpful. I just have a question, my stabilizer has two sides, one smooth and the other not. Which side should I use on top of the fabric?
Great video,...........Question: I embroider T shirts using water soluble stabilizer for backing stabelizer. I also want to use Tender Touch stabelizer afterwards to prevent skin irritation. Is it ok to tear off the water stabelizer and not worry about dissolving the little bits since I’m ironing on the Tender Touch thereby preventing the little bits from being felt or seen?
Hi, I sketched with permanent marker on the WSS and stitched over it to my clothe. But now I'm afraid the ink will come off once I wash it, is there any way to prevent smugging from happening?
I haven’t tried to wash permanent marker but I would say to toss a color catcher into the laundry with it, that way if the ink does run, the color catcher should get it. If you are not familiar with color catchers you find them in the laundry aisle. I also did a video about color catchers...you can find that here: ruclips.net/video/eLTIPoBQhlU/видео.html I'm also wondering if you should wash the garment with cold water, and have you ironed it to heat set the marker?? Again I'm not sure if that will work since I don't have a lot of experience with permanent markers, but it's worth a try. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out. XOXO - Kat :)
I watched another video where she put a paper towel over top and lightly sprayed it with water ironed it a little bit and the water soluble stabilizer came right off
Hi Teresa, you can buy water soluble stabilizer at your local embroidery dealer, or Joann Fabrics, and I've seen it on Amazon as well. There are lots of different brands..I recommend trying a few and seeing which one you like the best.
The wash away keeps the stitches from sinking into the towel... without it the embroidery will not look as good, as it will be partially hidden by the fibers in the towel..you need to use both the base stabilizer and the topper stabilizer for the best quality stitch out.
Thanks Kat for the great video. Your presetation was awesome.
Thank you Gail! I appreciate the kinds words...they made my day. :)
Thanks! This was excellent!

If it's water soluble stabilizer then it should not make a difference...but check the manufacturer's instructions to make sure.
Good job medam
Thank you very much

Yes that would be fine…as the little bits will just dissolve once it’s washed :)

Is there a top or bottom to the water soluble stabilizer?
No there is not a specific top/bottom to the water solution stabilizer. Good question 😊

Hi, why do we need wash away stabilizer in spite of base stabilizer? Basestavilizer will remain with the towel know? :🤗

Hi @@CalicoCaliDesigns what do I have to use as base stabilizer. And which stabilizers you recommend for base & top.
