Thank you so much!!! This is BEST, clearest, and most helpful vid on hooping I've ever seen! This is waaaaaay better than embroidery classes I've attended. Hoop star ⭐️!!
TY for this. I am so glad I continued looking for an alternative this morning to purchasing a hoop de doo for my LG hoops. Your tips have just saved me $$$ and hrs of making the other hoop helper. Thanks again.
Wow - thank you for this demonstration. I'm relatively new to machine embroidery and have a problem at times aligning my work. This will be such a big help.
I can definitely see how this method is beneficial and I'm going to give it a try. I have the PAL laser (the small one) from Designs in Machine Embroidery that allows me to "blind align" from the top as well, meaning I don't have to see the marks on the outer hoop to get it right. This method simulates that process manually. Pretty smart!
I would love to see a video of you using this method on embroidering a tee-shirt. Is there one available that you can direct me to? Has anyone in the comments section used this method for tee-shirts? I love your tips and since I am new at all of this I so appreciate all you have shared with us.
Great video. I have been having trouble with puckering. But the puckering only seems to happen as I tighten the hoop screw. Does your method keep this from happening. Tkd
Thank you for sharing. So I’m guessing that those felt type shapes that can be purchased for the individual hoops are designed for that very purpose...right? They never made sense to me before....
Great demonstration. I will try this. I just watched a hooping video that uses the tape. I am trying to learn to use hooping on the new Babylock Destiny II that my hubby bought me. I want
Will this technique work when embroidering t-shirts? I embroider a lot if 12 month size for gifts. Hooping something that size is a real challenge. Thanks for sharing a terrific idea!!
thanks for the video ; but the problem I have is with a ready made sweatshirt or hoodie type garment where I am attempting to put a name on the left/right chest area & getting it hooped correctly and straight. What recommendations do you have for that. thanks! It is very difficult to get that large garment on the hoop first of all & aligning it correctly seems to be quess work most often for me. Any help would be appreciated.
You explained this very well. i feel much more confident about hooping now. Thank you. Are you related to the woman at professorpincushion? You two could be sisters.
Too time consuming!? Maybe but for only the first time! I also use 3M Scotch Brand Removable Double Sided Tape on the bottom side of the inner hoop to temporarily secure everything before the final hooping. I put a bit of tape right where the underside of the centering grid marks would be. Remember! It's removable....
you don't have to hoop the fabric. just hoop the stabilizer and make a basting rectangle before the actual design. the basting holds the fabric in place and can be removed. this is what you MUST do when doing really thick items like coats.
This is so helpful as I am just learning to use my embroidery module on my machine. Thank you so much, Linda Hardesty

What a wonderful practical tutorial. Will be using this trick. I use my cutting table when I hoop so it'll be easy for me to use the edge. Thanks.

Wow, an awesome helpful video even if it is several years old. If still available for answers will this help prevent the fabric from puckering?
Great idea!
Great tip I will follow! So right...hooping is a pain! Thank you!
I use a silicone baking mat to keep that bottom hoop from sliding

Great tutorials. I messed up to child's tee shirts today by not knowing how to hoop and center properly
Thank you. Does fusible stabilizer gunk up the needle at all like spray adhesive does?

Where do you buy the chalk marker?
What kind of Kraft felt did you use for hoop collar please?
Why do you use the felt?
Can you show how to hoop a toddlers back jacket?
I must try this. Hooping is my nemesis and puckering is the bane of my life 😢
Oh my goodness. Can you tell me where you purchased the chalk you are using?
Hi Tanya. It is called Chalk-o-Liner and is made by Clover. Most sewing/fabric/ or quilt shops carry it.

I agree!!!!! So much easier!!
How about making a lab coat.
too time consuming - I use sticky paper templates that can be re-used several times and 95% less effort
