      It helped him to his current spot, but solidified? Absolutely not. Lots of talent have won World Titles, only to fall back to the midcard. Del Rio, Swagger, Christian, etc. And you even see it with a lot of recent champions. Priest, Mahal, Lashley, and Big E all lost their momentum the second they lost their title. Cody still has work to do.

    This whole interview has really made me realise why Seth is his generation's Hunter. Never truly the number 1 guy in the company, but held in the highest regard. Could trust him to make anyone and elevate any story he's involved in. And although neither was ever truly the guy, they are forever engrained in the stories of the guys. In Seth's case, Roman and Cody (and potentially Drew), just like Hunter did with Rock, Austin, Orton, Batista and Cena

      I’ve never understood this particular take about Triple H not being “the guy”. I was actually looking at the list of champions on Wikipedia a couple days ago and just checked again to get my numbers straight, he’s a NINE time WWE world champion. He is literally number 3 on total world championship reigns, and at 609 combined days total which is almost twice as long as The Rock who is 4th place at 8 reigns. And that’s WWE champion, not even accounting for world heavyweight championships. The idea that Hunter Hearst Helmsley was never “the guy” is batshit insane. 😂

    The pec injury was a blessing in disguise for Cody. Firstly it endeared him to the crowd as a top babyface which he wasn't able to do at AEW. Secondly he avoided Vince possibly shoving him down people's throat & the people turning on him. By the time he came back Triple H was booking & he booked him perfectly. So even after losing to Roman at WrestleMania 39 the fans didn't give up on him & waited for 1 whole year for him to finish his story, booing even the Rock along the way & rejecting a dream match like Roman vs Rock.

    • @jamelwright3234
      @jamelwright3234 8 часов назад +1

      The reason it didn't work in AEW was Cody's fault. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand and wouldn't have given him crap for beating Jericho. HE BOOKED the idea of never challenging for the world title. That one decision permanently placed him in the mid card.

    • @nsampone3
      @nsampone3 13 часов назад +3

      Yes and no. It IS still fake. They still plan the structure of the match. They still purposefully perform altered versions of the moves because they're trying NOT to hurt their 'opponent ' That's fake. It's fake.
      That doesnt mean it isnt dangerous. Which I think you were trying to say.

    • @nsampone3
      @nsampone3 13 часов назад

      @PlynDoChlodnicy doing something that isnt real and pretending that it is (pretending that it's a real athletic contest, pretending that the moves are serious) is fake.
      Fake isnt a bad thing. Storytelling IS fake. Its fiction. Thats fine.
      But wrestling is dangerous. Its risky. Its physical. There's lots of things you can point to that defend the show/defend the process. But calling it real doesnt help your case - its clearly not

    • @nsampone3
      @nsampone3 10 часов назад

      @PlynDoChlodnicy when they try to hit each other, they purposefully miss. A tombstone piledriver has taker holding you up so high that your head misses the mat by like 4 inches. Speaking of wild misses, a recent guy, Jacob Fatu, mr samoan warewolf misses his headbutts by a fking mile. Wrestlers jump to help theor opponents lift them because a big showy slam from up top is cleaner and safer than a clumsy one where the guy is dead weight.
      I live near NYC. Summerslams. Mania. 3 of the 4 AEW Grand Slams. Takeovers. I enjoy wrestling. But Im not a moron who thinks its all real.
      And speaking of splashes, look at how guys land. They try to cushion tbe blow with their arms and legs hitting the mat / pushing them up. The ones that dont land so safely, like Jeff Hardy's Swantons (or as matt jokes, in their old age, "croutons") are few and far between.
      Doing a move in a way to not hurt your opponent or to reduce the damage to them is FAKE. ITS THE EQUIVALENT OF A STUNT MAN PERFORMING FILM STUNTS

      Because Seth could afford the loss and could redeem it quickly; Cody would have his first real rivalry as a baby face be a loss and then be gone for months would have killed his run before it started

      No we get that its scripted and you have to write a story correctly or it could really ruin them. You dont seem to understand it so maybe this will help if not then youre no better than "those kind of fans" 😂
      Its scripted and yes some kicks and punches are fake yes
      But if you havent been in a wreslting dome then you really have nothing to say. Yes i have and yes i got to live my dream. I can talk. @magoconcancer99

      @ashtonhaggitt216 Plus, they were building Cody up for his WM with Roman, who had beaten everybody, and a win with that kind of injury made people think "Maybe Cody is tough enough and driven enough to finally knock Roman off his throne."
