    You're taking all of these empty promises way too seriously.

    The Cybertruck and these "robo" cars are what happens when Elon has waaay too much say in the designs. Not only will these not sell, they can't sell in most states. And FSD is getting much better, but it isn't nearly good enough to have absolutely no ability to take over. These will just be another Tesla semi or Roadster 2.0. All talk, but no product 8 years later.

    RoboCab will be entirely dependent upon quality of the people and community in which they operate. Will they contribute to that quality or contribute to their decline?

      Exactly. He's just reinventing busses. As someone who had to ride the public transportation all through college in the US, you can either have wide availability of use, or you can have clean, safe, pleasant transportation. You can't have both. That's where I think it will fail. It'll either become another "bus", or it'll be a transport toy for the wealthy.

    Not family-friendly
    not handicap friendly
    not bike friendly
    not luggage friendly
    Just as I predicted - used left over parts from crash dummy tests of the Cybertruck
    total failure.

    Back in the summer of 2018 my son was between jobs and started retrieving and charging Lime scooters. I had just gotten a Honda Ridgeline and in solidarity with him, so we could talk about it, I started finding, retrieving, charging and deploying these electric scooters. It was a lot of fun but basically for $600 that month. In return I lost sleep because all of that scooter stuff had to happen in the late night and early morning hours. I picture owning a bus or a taxi much the same experience but with the added stress that you had to sign up for an expensive lease or purchase agreement. All I had to do with the scooters was get some free chargers in the mail, download the app and clear out a space in my garage to charge scooters. Literally nothing about this robohype makes sense but at least Elon is kind of admitting that buses and public transit are a public good, so if it costs a few tens of billions of development dollars for Elon to almost admit this I think we can all sleep a little better each night.

    I have the exact same concerns. I am way less enthusiastic about steering wheel-less vehicles than others are. For something that is supposed to replace cabs... having a small, 2 door vehicle with much less utility than a Model Y is ridiculous to me. Plus, He's just reinventing busses. As someone who had to ride the public transportation all through college in the US, you can either have wide availability of use, or you can have clean, safe, pleasant transportation. You can't have both. That's where I think it will fail. It'll either become another "bus", or it'll be a transport toy for the wealthy.

    This things do not look capable in any states that have unideal weather. I dont know how current Teslas work in snow where there are no road indicators, but I assume these things would be much worse or not able to drive so it wouldn't even be full year of running. Im sure it will be able to in just a "few years"

    Maybe this works over a 50-year span of time. I love EVs, but there are two EVs on my entire street. American resistance is going to take time and advancements in battery tech to fade. I don't know that there is any amount of confidence you could build in the next 10 years for people to get into driverless cars in mass.

    I like Uber so while a ride in a robocab could be an interesting novelty experience I can’t quite understand the business model. Is there really that much money to be made in cabs? I’ve never had a bad experience in an Uber and I usually enjoy talking to the human behind the wheel., This seems like a lot of effort to get the human out of there and I like the human interaction. And on top of all that it’s gotta work and I can’t see that happening any time soon based on what I hear about fool self driving. Is there something else going on here? Is this for real? Any mention of the Model Y Juniper. Thanks for spilling your guts Adam. Thoughtful and engaging viewing.

    • @Aslash304
      @Aslash304  33 минуты назад

      @@Molishious Uber is definitely better than this experience, but it is also not profitable. At the end of the day transport isn’t profitable, it’s just necessary. The Real point here is for people to look at Tesla as an artificial intelligence and computing company, because those companies have higher profit margins, and essentially the entire charade is an excuse to get people to buy stock. In my humble opinion, emphasis on humble.

    AI is a bubble, and this demonstrates that.
    I wouldn't scrap the cab, but add controls, NACS, and rename it the Model 2; congrats, you have a $30k hot hatchback. That can sell. A 2 seat cab will not.

  • @davedempster7658
    @davedempster7658 3 часа назад +1

    These AI vehicles will never work in practice and I will explain why.
    In a lot of run down areas in the UK, the kids rule the streets. Their idea of fun is playing chicken with road traffic everyday. They run out in the roads and force cars, buses and trucks to stop. Then they chant abuse and various insulting signs. Much the same as most poorer city areas I guess.
    But like the Stop Oil protestors. They know road users cannot run them over. So they just do what they want as there are no police around to deal with them. Police more interested in cars doing 5mph over the speed limit. Or cars parking on double yellow lines, even when there is no real reason to have the no parking rule.
    My car a few times has slammed on the breaks because the radar thinks i am going to hit something, when I know I am not. Like people standing on the pavement (sidewalk) on a road corner waiting to cross and my car jams on the breaks even though they are not on the road, but in the radar field of vision.
    Get AI taxis, cars and trucks on the road and the kids, protest demos and even terrorists can use this weakness to bring city roads, freeway/motorways to a halt in a few minutes.
    Think about that power Elon will be giving them! But Elon is just counting his billions, not looking at the real picture in a real world.

    • @Aslash304
      @Aslash304  2 часа назад +1

    More question marks than answers but another event to please the share holders !
    Or to make them think twice how long it will go on this way.
    5 years from presentation to delivery for the cybertruck would mean 5 years for a robo taxi, but 5 years would also mean that the competition coulld get close or closer . Chinese are biting marketshare from tesla especially in europe the model 3 is no longer alone nor dominant. MG4 are way cheaper and have a far better useable trunk than model 3 with its outdated design. Model Y is far better, but much more expensive.
    I am sceptical and again Teslas seems to be overpriced. At the end Tesla will end up like all the others cuse Elon gets older and his hair becomes gray - as the hair of his investors and shareholders. Smart was once the brand with the youngest automotive workforce back in 1997 , so young and agile and aged simply like all others. Same will happen to Tesla sooner or later except Elon fires everyone like in that charging business and then hires some back and all other will be new on the job.

    You know, this whole robotaxi deal is essentially Door Dash for a box of human meat. Maybe there’s a cryogenic process involved?(keeping with the sci-fi theme)
    If a company claims so many deliveries, but not sales, there’s a problem.
    You know, I live in a city where public transit becomes a hot-button political issue when it’s not adequately funded. I’ve even had occasion to ride on an electric bus, which I found to be very pleasant, more so than a diesel powered hybrid city bus. Elon(and tech-bro sycophants) look at transit as low hanging fruit with baited breath, just like the automakers looked at light rail electric streetcars in the 1920’s
