I just hope Romancing Saga 3 gets the same treatment someday.

Same! I'm hoping RS2 does so well that they feel like they need to do Romancing Saga 3 too.

I pre-ordered this game. I'm really looking forward to it! I didn't play the originals partly because they lack direction and sound tedious in some ways. This version looks like it takes some of that out. I also LOVE the Trials of Mana remake and I can see the similarities with this game. I tried a bit of the demo and it looks great. The story looks cool. This game snuck up on me and it is actually my most anticipated game right now (more than Ys X or Dragon Quest 3 remake even though I'm a big fan of both franchises)! Thanks for the info too.

Yeah totally, after playing the demo I've been really excited for it. I'd love to see them do the same thing for Romancing Saga 3 if this goes well.

Mr.S was a character from SaGa 2 (Final Fantasy Legend II). It looks like he's filling the same role here as Lil' Cactus did in Trials of Mana

I think I've seen that character in sprite form in final fantasy legend 1. I think it was the slime class of monsters

I am assuming the Maze of Memories might not be included since the two new classes (Ninja, Diviner) seem to be located elsewhere in the world. Which is nice in that it integrates them better into the existing story (yes, this isn't a narrative heavy game, but you usually do get story content for each new region and class). The maze was also used to help players with safe ways to do grinding, but with the system rework it may not be needed. There was a tiny little bit of lore added from the maze, but I assume that could also be easily repurposed and put elsewhere in the remake.

The Automaton is a special class. It has the highest LP out of all the classes, but you can only recruit it once. When you transition to the next generation, it will break down and can't be used again. The only way you can make the Automaton the Emperor is to have it in your party when your current Emperor (can't be the final Emperor) dies from running out of LP (having the entire party wipe won't count).

Interesting. I wonder if they made any big changes to it in the remake? Guess we're about to find out.

@@GameClouds It'll probably be easier to get the Automaton Emperor now that they added the option to abdicate in the remake. I was tired of always reloading a save in the remaster to get a specific heir

Growing up in the 90s and As much as I like and love the original pixie art JRPGs I think it would be pretty cool to see if square Enix were to do a remake of Chrono trigger like this I think it would be pretty cool cuz I’ve only played the demo of romancing saga 2 remake and I love it and for 50 dollars price tag it isn’t a bad deal I’m already thinking of buying it lol but i would love to see what square Enix could do if they were to remake chrono trigger in the same way they did romancing saga 2 but that’s just me like the review and comparisons u did with the original and remake by the way keep up the good work

Awesome video, thanks for all of your hard work and thanks for building hype for this new release. I am relatively new to the SaGa franchise, before playing through a bunch of the re-releases on the switch i had only ever played "The final fantasy legend" (saGa game for gameboy) and quite liked it. On a whim i decided to pick up the 2017 game to check out before playing the demo, and then the demo for this game blew me away. What a transformation, and such an awesome premise at that. Thanks so much for your content brother!!

MP and SP in the original are no longer saperated in the remake, instead becoming 'BP'. Since bosses seem to be harder and more complex than the original, resource management will be very troublesome later on because you need to balance out your buffs and attack moves.

Copellia the Automaton was in the original. Talk to that inventor guy. She can become an Emperor as well and if your final Emperor gets LP killed she will sacrifice her life for you.

while its nice to see rocbouquet in 3d like any remake/remaster im worried of nerfs/"balancing" to previous strats/methods like hasten time if there is one thing ive noticed square loves to do with remakes/remasters its needlessly nerf/"re balance" things really the only saving grace is they didnt touch the bloody armor in the remake of so2 so hopefully its the same with the remake of rs2 with hasten time lol

hi, can we main the protagonist only sword and axe, for example, and it will pass to the next generation and so on?
and can we have always the same party members if we want? thanks

    • @GameClouds
      @GameClouds  4 дня назад +1

I'm pretty sure the way inheritance works allows you to keep progress (levels) gained on your weapons. But techs will not completely pass over to your next generation Emperor. You can choose to use whatever you would like, you aren't forced to change if you don't want to.
Party members can be switched out at Taverns in the remake, whereas in the original they had to die in order for you to change them.
But lets say your entire party wipes at a boss fight. All of those characters are now dead, and you have to choose a new successor. If only your Emperor dies you choose a successor from your party.
But there are also points where time passes and you are forced to choose a successor. Your party may disband, but you can find them again in that situation.
I'm not 100% absolutely sure that's the way it works in the remake, as we haven't seen confirmation to my knowledge.
