  • Walt (Bryan Cranston) - an unrepentant 'everyman' who has embraced his kingpin alter ego "Heisenberg" - continues to battle dueling identities: a desperate husband and father trying to provide for his family, and a newly appointed key player in the Albuquerque drug trade. As the danger around him escalates, Walt is now entrenched in the complex worlds of an angst-ridden family on the verge of dissolution, and the ruthless and unrelenting drug cartel.

No one likes Skylar because she is totally irredeemable , she manipulates her husband all the time, belittles him. Always treats her man like shit. She is all what men hates in woman and more . Average housewife is just telling that average house wife is a total tool. The actress is amazing at portraying that.

Because the characters you mention all have something about them that make them interesting and intriguing to watch on what they're going to do next. Skylar literally fill scenes with boring filler most of the time with only a handful of scenes that progresses the plot, her character is not only boring to watch it's obnoxious to sit through. Just because I don't like Skylar as a character doesn't make me believe that I think Walt or anyone else is a good person, it means I like their character's as they INTRIGUE me. But keep missing the point of what makes people like breaking bad so much, and it's definitely not her.

He thought she knew he always had this hidden potential he's wanted to realize, but something always stopped him. Doubt. This is shown when he says he's been scared for 50 years, but ever since his diagnosis, he's never slept better. Since the diagnosis is when he stops giving a fuck and that's when the famous "breaking bad" line came. So basically he knew since day 1 he was the fucking shit, lol. She then suggests cocaine. He's even more surprised she didn't get his 'obvious' response. He's like all right enough of this shit no one disrespects my work and gets away with it; then with conviction corrects her - Methamphetamine. In other words, call it what it is, BITCH! 😡 He doesn't bullshit either with the term "meth.".... he calls it by its proper name, Methamphetamine, again showing he values his knowledge so much; he knows he's a genius realized, basically.

The scene with Saul, the Pinkmans and their lawyer has a whole new meaning now that we have more backstory on Jimmy. He's no longer just the cartoonish infomercial attorney that everyone thinks is a joke. Now it's as if the Pinkman's lawyer knows Saul's reputation and history, and what kind of lawyer he is. He might even know or has heard of Jimmy. He might even have known Chuck. And in this scene it's interesting to think that he sees Saul as that mischievous little brother of Chuck's who always running some scheme or has some unorthodox trick up his sleeve.

@@yiannoscyprus No, I'm just saying that with the addition of more story in Better Call Saul, certain things in Breaking Bad take on greater meaning. In this case, that particular lawyer could, in theory, have knowledge of what Jimmy is all about as well as his conflict with Chuck. This is known as retroactive continuity, where new plot added with a prequel changes the context or understanding of existing scenes.

You guys be a bunch of bitchin complainers. LOL!
I actually like the fact that the blade was never sharpened. They had a chrome finish on even the edge. It actually speaks to how they were built as characters.
They are not dressed to be maximally effective. They aren't armed to be maximally effective. The weapons they DO have aren't even sharpened. All of their preparation seems to be about image. Their gaudy dress, the fact that they don't speak, their flashy boots, their slow movement. Unsharpened but shiny weapons.
They're like this on purpose. They are like the grim reaper. they are legends. Do you think the Grim Reaper sharpens his scythe? Of course not. He's the damn Grim Reaper. What would you think if you ever saw the Grim Reaper sharpening his scythe? "Is he a working stiff like everyone else?". We just don't think of it that way. We don't want to see the Grim Reaper sharpen his blade. He's legendary. Neither living nor dead. The Grim Reaper isn't going for employee of the month. He's inevitable.
That's the image they are going for with the Brothers. They are not there for realism. They are supposed to be like Hit-man demigods.
And it's not by accident. Contrast this to a character like Mike. We see in PAINSTAKING detail what he's up to. We want to see that he's a working stiff. He's not about image. He's about getting the job done, and it doesn't always come effortlessly... and when it does, come effortlessly, we are meant to wonder, "Jesus... this plan was just sitting there in his head? He's done this before, hasn't he?"
Mike is not written to be a Demigod-like character, so we want details. The brothers are Demigods, so we don't want details. We want an air of mystery.
Does THAT satisfy the complainers? LOL!
