      I'm a bit skeptical as to if the G Pro wireless is a sponsor as most sponsors give leeway for mice. Think of all the players who used to use Zowie mice. But GPW could still be a sponsor. G640 is 100% sponsor, QCK is at least cheap to replace and a much better surface. Shroud is 100% a shill. Razer > Logitech

      In keyboards and mousepad yes. But most of the orgs in FPS games don't force their players to use their mouse. Take TenZ for example (Cloud 9 Valorant) He's on cloud 9 which is sponsored by Hyper X but he uses g pro wireless / razer viper ultimate / viper mini

    • @nikohippi5363
      @nikohippi5363 4 года назад +13

      @@szymacs7106 of course there are pros that use different mice. but even without sponsor forcing to use their mouse, they literally get unlimited mice from the sponsor, so why would they buy own mice with OWN money, if they can get like 5 logitech mice from logitech if the team is sponsored by logitech?
      And either way g pro wireless is still basically better than most of those "lighter light weight mice" on the spec side. So if u add the sponsor and the quality there just isnt any other reason to use any other mouse yet other than the weight and shape, but usually if u try to find lighter mice, they have wire and too often worse sensor or switches(yes i know the difference isnt big nowadays in sensors for exam. but theyre pros, they recognise it easier.
      And even 60g WIRED mouse feels same weight as g pro WIRELESS while it is 80g.
      Based on my own exp ofc.

    I wanna say sponsorship definitely plays a big role into it. GPW's shape really isn't all too great, it's decent for most people, but probably not the best available. A fresh 640 is real nice, the mousepad makes more sense why they use it! They don't have to worry about durability. In addition, it's probably what pros are used to and they might not be open to change and trying something new.

The Logictech G640 is more of a control mousepad while the SteelSeries QCK is a Speed mousepad. I honestly don’t know which one to use, but I’ve gotten use to the Logictech G640 which is massive and feels nice. My Steel Series Qck is tiny and it feels really nice to. When it comes to mouse 90% of all pros, at least in the CS:GO scene are free to use whatever mouse they prefer but have to use the sponsors keyboard and mousepad. Of course some contracts don't allow this but most do. The G pro is just favoured on most fps games because of the sensor and universal shape. Also as of right now with the scheduling they are using the players simply do not have time to become inconsistent in the game by trying a new mouse becuase they constantly have tournaments going on.

      I can t agree more. Trying to things new weight new shape require time. After this time maybe you ll become better but in e sport tournament and big match are so frequent you have no time and when there is time those player use it to rest. There are a significant amount of burnout case in esport already.

      @@BTaesthetics But searching the best gears is very long for a very minor improvement like a little more accuracy .assuming most pros are already freaking beast in individual skill it s just suranalysing at this level. They spend days scrimming and training as a team and days working on a lot of more important detail like communication positionning team play strategies this is a work a real work. Most of them can t allow them to list time finding the right mouse because there is a time to adapt and during this time they risk to perform bad. The same goes with lightweight mice. Playing a semi final in a major tournament involve a lot of stress and sometimes shaking in those case heavy mouse reduce the impact of shaking.

    I can call myself an oldskool FPS gamer and after having tested so many different gaming peripherals in the past 20 years, mousepads are indeed one of the most inconsistent peripherals, they just wear over time and the glide is not consistent, until I found the Aorus AMP 500. This is a half-hybrid mousepad and the glide is so consistent, it's absolutely amazing. Atm I got an MM710, GPW and Glorious Model O- at home and the MM710/GMO- are my 2 favorites, glides so well too on the AMP. Lightweight is the bomb. My dream mouse would be a +- 45-50 gram lightweight ambidextrous wireless mouse, I'd pay big money for that if the finished product is of high quality.

    I too have the GPW+G640 and it extends a little bit past just sponsorships, TSM just won the November major for Rainbow 6 and every player has the exact same peripherals with very slight inconsistency in the monitors. Not only are they paid to use it but just the fact that they are good with it gives people like me the vision of if he's good with it I could be good with it and since it a well-rounded mouse I do good with it. This happens to a lot of people and it gets to the point where people now think that they need a mouse or a certain peripheral. But what a lot of people don't see is the pros can probably be good with any mouse/keyboard/mousepad that's decent. But mostly it just comes down to the fact they are paid to use a good product.

I like the fact that it uses regular batteries instead of an internal rechargeable one, if it's low you just change it. No need for an extra cable (and btw my keyboard, the G413, has a passthrough where I put the dongle, so there's no need for that ugly USB extender cable), remembering to charge it every night and the hassle of opening it up to change the battery when it goes bad, that is, IF you can find its battery model when the time comes. And it's quite cheap, too, unlike the G PRO Wireless.

I've been the most accurate on the G pro wireless and G pro wireless superlight x mice with tracking. Mouse pad ive had zowie GSR, Artisan Zero, cooler master mp510, and currently on the logitech G840 a 640 XXL size(8 months). Ive switch back and forth between all of them artisan was not a game changer(meh), Zowie GSR is a great mouse pad u have alot of control some would say that muddy feeling, rocketninja review of the mp510 was rated very high but i didnt do great on it switching sensitivity in game to hone in my accuracy (apex legends), rough on ur mouse feet u can feel that friction. the 640 and 850 has been the best mouse pad that i have used with tracking players. Might buy that newer artisan ninja fx hayati outsu its just a bit pricy for something that u might be dissapointed in. G pro superlight x seems to be my end game mice

    The big thing for me is that yes, there are a lot of new mice out that are amazing, but there really isn't that many options for wireless mice. I have firmly moved into the "once you go wireless, you can't go back" camp. That really only leaves us with a few competitors in the space. I'm still holding out hope that logitech releases a wireless g303 as that is the ultimate fingertip mouse for me but the wire was always so stiff. To me, the g pro wireless and the viper ultimate are the top two wireless mice and until something else comes along, that's what we will be stuck with. I've tried other wireless mice like the pwnage ultra custom, and it is a great mouse in all aspects except I couldn't stand the clicks on it, so im back with my g pro wireless.
    Also, I dont know if you know, but logitech released a firmware update that seems to have fixed the double click issue on the g pro wireless. My g pro wireless had that issue since release (although it wasn't super noticeable) but after the firmware update, it seems to be gone entirely. So that's good news!

    As a competitor in csgo, I can say this: "You'll only be as good as you are at the game"
    What I mean is, after you go beyond a certain point, the gears you use will have a very limited impact on your skill. It will make playing more comfortable and probably last longer, but it will not improve your skills instantly.
    I've seen people at tournaments using a G102 on a beaten up knockoff razer goliathus mouspad, and still manage to kick some ass.
    Practice and good habits will have way more positive impact than switching from a good mouse to a great one.

      A mouse plays a big role in my gaming as I have carpal tunnel syndrome (8+ hours of using a mouse during work + 3-4 hours of gaming every day does that to you), so picking out the perfect mouse for me is crucial. I used to use a Steelseries Sensei Ten (awesome mouse, no doubt about that), but the shape and the cable drag (even with a bungee) hindered my performance and caused me pain after a longer session (2+ hours). Ever since I switched to the G703 (wireless, ergo, better balanced - once you remove the weight holder, better quality - subjective, I feel like it's a better quality mouse overall) my performance has skyrocketed, and I can hold on to longer sessions without pain.
      I know my case is a rare one, but regarding pros - why play on an old mouse or mousepad when you can afford the best in class? It's the same for me as a software engineer - I could code on a $400 laptop no problem, but why risk hindering my performance for which I get paid for when I can afford a great workstation?

    • @dwirandypradhika6752
      @dwirandypradhika6752 4 года назад

      @@krypton9808 For pros, it's also a matter of priority. "If the current setup works why spend the time researching and getting used to new stuff, when I can use that time practicing and studying the game?" Of course, when a big enough upgrade becomes available this priority shifts around, but in the end of the day the player is the main factor.
      And it's gonna be a similar thing even for you, once you find that the G703 works for you, I doubt getting a supposedly better G703-like mouse will improve your performance in-game, the G703 is "that certain point" for you.

    As much as I can understand not liking the idea of replacing a mat every so often, this is hardly a situation that is specific to gaming and gaming gear. In an sport like skateboarding, for example, your "gear" gets worn out and/or broken, and needs to be replaced. This is applicable to all parts but very specifically the deck that is ridden can break at any moment. A lot of times you'll see pros in videos go into a warehouse and just grab stacks of boards, never really worrying about how long they will last because they can just grab a new one.
    When it comes to cloth pads, I'm well aware of fabrics not staying 100%^ the same through their lifespan. I go into it knowing I'll probably end up replacing a pad roughly every 6 months or so.

One of the side buttons crapped out and then I switched to the Razer Viper Ultimate. Other than that another mouse that I and a lot of other people really like is the G502 but at 115 grams (for the updated wireless version) it's not quite competitive. If they make that at a sub 80 gram weight, that would be my go to mouse.

I have cleaned it over 15 times I'd say and for about 4 days to a week it would be fine, then out of nowhere (not eating or getting anything on my mousepad in these times) the spots would reappear. You cant see it on the mousepad itself, but the mouse censor just loves to not pick up on these spots. Like I said, if i clean it it's fine for a little, then they come back. I'm not fond of having to clean a mousepad every week. Happend on all my mice so it has to be a mousepad issue.

    you said the mouse pad was hard to explain I still think you did well
    also do you think the model o can compare to the g pro wireless?

    The G pro is probably the smoothest mouse I’ve gamed with, but it’s not the most reliable nor comfortable for me personally. I know use the razer basilisk v2, it’s a little heavy but it’s my favorite hands down.

    People need to realize that lighter mice doesn’t essientially mean better. 70-85 grams is a good middle ground for low to high sens. Ultra light mice should only be used in very low sens cases as its hard to be precise with ultra light mice with middle to high sens as less force is needed to move the mouse therefore less room for precision

    Largely sponsorships, partly familiarity and availability. If something goes wrong with a GPW, you can replace it faster than pretty much any non-big named company. Literally run over to best buy real quick and pick up a replacement if you need to. As far as the mousepad goes, the newer "blue" 640's are pretty nice and don't have the raised logo. The regular black ones are cheap like the QCK's and get muddy real quick. I also think Shroud's has a similar surface to the blue version and has no raised art. They even seem to have a more even X,Y resistance which surprised me. I do hope Esports tiger gets more popular though so they make more pads, I LOVE their designs.
