When you unravel knits and the yarn is very curly you can try steaming it. It should make the yarn relax and straighten quite a bit. I once unravelled an entire sweater. I just hung the yarn on a clothes peg in big loops (like when you open a new hank (skein). Then I steamed it with a garment steamer. When the hank was dry I wound it all up into a new cake. Also I would like to thank you for the "half twisted rib" tip. I hate my ribbing, so I will definitly start doing it this way.
Honestly, no one will notice a slight difference in the ribbing. It is really beautifully even knitting for the rest of the garment. I am learning not to angst so much about slight errors which no one will notice! Your cardigan is lovely too.
Just discovered your podcast and was so happy to hear that PUES is your LYS. Mine too! Felicia and Karen and everyone there make it feel like home away from home. Hope to see you there one day.
Thanks for your refreshing episodes. I laughed out loud at your description of the ito mohair 'going off' on it's own journey. Your turns of phrase are a joy to listen too. The delight you express in your fo cardigan makes me almost want to knit a Petite Knits pattern. Maybe 1 day.. you never know 😊
I partially unraveled and reknit a sock that had been on my needles for over a decade (yikes). The texture was noticeably different while knitting but it all blocked out. Hope you have the same luck😁
Your Lakes tee is stunning as well! The colour is a perfect choice. I am so glad you explained how you achieve such a lovely finish on your ribbing. I was thinking of trying it on my next project, and now it’s a done deal. Thank you!
Hello my dear, thank you again for your Podcast. A lot of inspiration. But: I love your furniture!! so exquisit and nice. What is it? I wish you nice holydays and a good and healthy time ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I, too, have started doing half-twisted rib every time ribbing is called for. I normally twist the knits - but I am going to try twisting the purls instead and see what happens. Good tip!
You have such beautiful yarns and garments, wau. I will courage you to knit the Cardi Cocoon without the cable needle. I knitted this cardigan a couple years ago and I remember thinking that I can´t do that without the cable needle but as you said it´s just too slow and difficult with it so I tried and realized that it worked just fine. Anyway it´s ment to be a relaxed knitted garment so it´s not so tight it couldn´t be done. It´s going to be lovely. I think it´s my most expensive knitted garment because of the two strands of silkmohair, so a really luxorius garment.
LOL, so funny (sorry, not laughing at you) about what happened with the ribbing on the Lakes Tee. I did the same thing on a sock ribbing and I had to start over. I soaked the yarn to "straighten" it out, and it was fine. I think what happens is that the curls in the yarn means that the stitches are uneven because you can't really make the yarn knit consistent stitches with all the knits, and my concern was that some stitches were loose - which they were.
Great knitting and colours. For the cocoon cardi, there is a way to do a 1x1 cable that's similar to a K2tog, or SSK which makes things super easy. I'd suggest looking up some tutorials. It's one of my favriote techniques.
Your Eva Cardigan is stunning. I have yarn for that pattern. I really need to cast it on. 🧶 Love the color of your Lakes Tee. ❤️ I don't think it's orangey red. 🙅🏾♀️
Would love a yarn store walk through - im in lower westchester but I love visiting Mt. Kisco. Do you recommend pick up every stitch? I've been to Flying Fingers in Tarrytown and Knit Shoppe in Mamaroneck
I LOVE pick up every stitch. It’s not only a beautiful store, but Karen and Felicia are so knowledgeable and helpful. I was just in there yesterday but next time I’m there I’ll ask their permission to film a walk through
Take back the rib on your red sweater. Use new non knitted yarn. If you dont have enough to do that, unravel the sleeve. Skein it then soak the yarn in warm water for 10mins. After spinning in a top loader only or use a towel to remove excess water. Thwack it. Then hang to dry.
I want to make the Bruno as well so I look forward to seeing how it is knitting up🙌🏻 I’m the same height and also have a long torso, so when I do the math for how many skeins I would need, I always round up or add an extra one just to be safe 🤓🤓
@@easilyknitfluenced also, I just tried your broken rib method and 🤯🤯🤯 I’ve only done full twisted rib, because I didn’t know/realise you can do it this way as well and oh my does it look neat and tidy🙌🏻
I think this has made my decision to choose the Eva cardigan over the champagne cardigan 😮. Does anyone have any experience replacing a rib button band with a double knitting one? I adore the look of double knitting button bands but I don't want to throw the tension off, would be super grateful for any advise!
Hello! I love your Eva Cardigan and the yarn is to die for!!! Would it be possible for you to show the yarn labels? I am not familiar with the Ella Monie??? Yarn and I’m sure I have no idea how to spell it to look it up. I watched your July episode to see if you showed the label but you did not there either. Thanks so much! I love tweed and would love to knit with this yarn.

I love your knitting, very neat and beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
Your tension is so perfect…Great job! Great podcast.

You should! She’s popular for a reason, great pattern writing and very classic, easy wear designs. Thank you for watching 🤩
Thank you for the video. I'm sure your Lakes Tee will be fine after washing! Beautiful colour too❤
I hope so too!
I partially unraveled and reknit a sock that had been on my needles for over a decade (yikes). The texture was noticeably different while knitting but it all blocked out. Hope you have the same luck😁
Your knitting is very clean, I truly enjoy that. Love your yarn choice and color choices as well. Beautiful podcast!
Thank you so much!

Definitely try it! My silly short cut mistake aside, for me it gives a much more even looking finish

❤️❤️❤️
I love the collection of knits you showed.
Thanks for watching!

Just in time to watch in bed! You're quickly becoming one of my favorite knitting podcasters ❤
Wow, thank you! That means so much, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content 🥰
I do my ribbing the same way for neatness. Your projects look great. 🧶
Awesome! Thank you!
You could unravel the ribbing, wrap the yarn around something to let it relax overnight. Then reknit the next day. That collar is perfection.
I may do that. It’s bothering me just looking at it 😖

This is what I get for trying to be smart and do things the “easy” way 🥲😂
Thank you so much fot lor sharing and habe nive vacation 😮🎉❤

Oh let me try that, thank you for the tip! I don’t mind the cable needle but it is incredibly slow 🤣

Yes, thank you! He insists it has a “70s look” 😆
The Eva is great, it’s such a perfect staple piece and classic Petiteknit pattern writing
I don’t see orange in the tee. Lovely color. Beautiful knitting!
Live your projects❤
Thank you!
I use a bamboo DPN instead of a cable needle ( hated any I had but needed something as I don’t like live stitches “ hanging”). Game changer!
Very smart!

Yes!! It’s a little more fiddly but it’s the best!
I agree, the red is not an orange red. To me, it's a muted red.
I agree!

Oh yes that’s a great suggestion for next video. The brand name is Illimani, and the yarn name is Santi Tweed. They have a beautiful color selection

Thank you! The spelling made me laugh at how off I was in my spelling. Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Enjoy!
