To prevent a lot of brake fluid from leaking out of the line, i take off the brake fluid cap, put a foil (bag) on the opening and srew the cap back on. Normally nothing more comed out or it drips very slowly. If it can't get air, it can't flow out of the pipe. Love the mindset on the brake update!
Love the way you give full details on every step you do this makes your content worth watching over other channels alone I learn so much I'm thinking of getting a vw T5-6 myself you inspire me with your confidence keep up the good work
Great job as usual. Good to see the impact getting some good use 👍 I heard that by keeping the brake pedal depressed, no brake fluid is lost. Great to see other subscribers supporting your good work. 👍
Hi Been watching your videos for a while now and love the work you done to the vans especially the nil budget build. I have recently purchased a mk4 caddy and want to change the 15” alloys to maybe 17” . Do you have any idea what vw/audi/seat etc wheels that would be a straight swap ?
Thank you Peter it’s surprising how many different Vw models have the same bolt pattern in a lot of areas so a lot of parts from different vehicles are Interchangeable 👍
I did this to my Q3 and A3 a few years back, I used the newer mk7 Golf R 340mm fronts and 310 rears, very good upgrade however one thing that lets them down is you really need the larger master cylinder to match it all, using the standard master cylinder makes them “grabby” in my opinion.
Hey that sick.well am planning to do the same thing just trying to figure out if i need a bigger master cylinder since the bigger piston diameter on the new calipers! Does the pedal feels spongy with the stock pump!?
Iv just managed to get together front/rear s3 calipers/hangers 2x,rear dust shields, and the following brand new- 2x front dust shields 4x goodridge braided lines,4x drilled and grooved discs , front/rear trw ceramic pads total £517, just need to paint blue and the discs gloss black to match wheels, ah ye 👌
Hi Nathan I’ve got T5 transporter my son has MK3 caddy have done quite a bit of work on the T5 and bits on the caddy.I am so loving your channel buddy keep up the good work mate
New subscriber here, found you by accident looking for ideas for Caddy mods. I've spent a good few hours today watching your content as it's such an easy watch. Keep up the good work! Planing on getting a caddy in the new year as a project van, and will definitely be using your channel for inspiration. Thanks!
they look great an all that a nice job but the s3 single pots and discs have a big prob there massively heavy unsprung weight an you do notice it !! ive used 6 pot q7 calipers with only a 330mm disc went back to 4 pot boxster brakes and 2 pieace discs at 312mm an the difference is really noticeable .
It just blows me away how many parts are interchangeable with brands within the VW group. You'll be able to bang a few heads on the windscreen now with those brakes👌🇦🇺❤️
Brake upgrades look the dogs, wee update on the performance difference might get you some more views. Done my own brakes for 30 years and always used cooper grease so you get my vote on using it, never had any issues using it so will continue to do it. Iove the content as I’ve got a caddy and had 4 x T5.1’s wish I had one just now but still going too strong for my liking, even got my next seat of recovered front seats n rock n roll bed in GTI grey tartan. Looking forward to see what type of conversion you go for. I like the side kitchen n 3/4 rock n roll bed. Keep up the great work and content 👍👍
Hey Martin thank you that’s a good shout about how well they work 👍👍, cor you’ve had a few T5’s then I’m enjoying mine. Oh mate very nice the Vw tartan is very pretty, very nice 👌
Hey Christopher you are right 👍 I’ve used it a couple of times in the past but I had rubber abs cable and a wheel arch liner right there I didn’t want to burn but I suppose I could have stripped them out 👍👍
Class vid mate as I'm not mechanically minded learning loads with the down to earth approach keep up the good work fell , also your a bit handy on that bike 😂
Hey bud thank you 👍 glad the videos are useful appreciate the feedback. I used to ride bikes all day everyday but it does take abit more effort nowadays.
Another great vid bud , they look as sweet as . You know your stuff Nathan and what you don’t know you work out . Like you that’s what I try to do . I like the built not bought attitude. Looking forward to t5 on Friday . You asked me to email you about the t5 tailgate which I think I have done to 2 emails but not sure you got them . I know your busy bud , give e a shout if your not getting them as I have started collecting the other bits I need to do the swap . Thanks bud keep up the great work , you definitely put in the hours ..👍🏽🤙🏽
Hey Chris thank you mate 👍 I enjoy working out solutions or how things work it definitely helps when upgrading things or swapping bits. I’m a built not bought guy to 👍 I will check for email abit later mate and reply 👍
I think the feeling around copper grease and brakes is that as they get hot the grease evaporates leaving just the copper behind and the copper filings cause stuff to seize or bind, there is a specific brake grease that is more durable and doesn’t contain copper. Either way I’ve got 1/2 a tin of copper grease that I will still be using. Every time I go to Eurocarparts for pads they try to sell me the specific grease. I’ve heard it from a few places
Hey bud yes your right and funny you mention euros as I had a sales rep come to my workshop from euros and PAGID and he mentioned the proper grease and even said he would rather no grease at all if it wasn’t proper grease.
Very informative video indeed thanks.👍👍................so much so that I'm now looking to do the same with my Caddy. Mine is a Mk4 and I believe yours is a Mk3, do you know if the fitment of front & rear between Mk3 and Mk4 is the same please? 🙏
Put the 340mm fronts and 310mm rears from the S3 on my mark 7 just because the standard brakes looked too small behind the 19" wheels. Great stopping power too.
I bought the same front calipers for my caddy but damn are those things heavy. Decided to fit Porsche boxster Brembo’s instead, they needed an adapter kit to fit but work with the 312mm discs already on the van so the cost difference wasn’t massive and saved loads in unsprung weight
Hey bud your right when I collected them they where loaded into a plastic box and I did struggle lifting them, very nice not seen the Porsche brakes done 👍
The R32/S3 calipers are monsters, look way more impressive than the boxster calipers and fill your 18s out nicely. The boxster calipers are super light being all aluminium, I just have to use a little a spacer for clearance
I’ve done the same calliper conversion on my caddy and I’ve also done the Passat alloy knuckle and alloy lower control arm conversion, do the upgrade !
@@YTDTETV it’s very simple just remember to use Passat B6 calliper hanger bolts as they are longer and for piece of mind use all new components, wheel bearings, bottom ball joint and tie rod and they also need to be Passat B6 ad the nuts have a wide flange on them don’t use standard bolts because of the steel insets in the alloy housing.
Great vid been following the channel for a while now. Will be doing r32 brake upgrade soon. Might come to the next caddy meet aswell. Keep up the good work bud.

We need mugs that say “Good enough for girls we date” best saying ever 😂
Hey Connor I love the saying to but I have to be honest I’ve copied it from Derek at VGG he says lots of similar sayings 👍
Ahhh gutted mate ! Hahaha always makes me laugh
Class video mate learning so much with the down to earth approach keep up.the good word
@@YTDTETV ah I thought it was from AvE's channel but he says " good enough for the girls I go out with" 😂

Hey bud that is a really good top tip 👍 I have used that in the past myself and it definitely stops the fluid draining out 👍
Just put something to hold down the brake pedal in before you do anything and nothing will leak
Love the way you give full details on every step you do this makes your content worth watching over other channels alone I learn so much I'm thinking of getting a vw T5-6 myself you inspire me with your confidence keep up the good work
