Conversely time buys money especially if you didn't have the opportunities that others had starting from third base you have to expend A LOT of time to acquire it at the expense of everything and everyone.
I wanted to cry when I was listening to the guy who invented uggs (I think it was uggs and he was elderly already) and he was married etc. his wife believed in him and his dreams and put her life on the back burner to help him succeed and when he did she finally wanted to enjoy life with him. Instead he said he didn’t want that anymore and left her. They remained friends because they had kids together and she remarried but you can see the pain and regret he has for abandoning his wife. Money makes life more enjoyable but it doesn’t replace love and family.

Besides, there is a difference between working hard or being completely absent. No one wants to be a married single mother especially if they work too. My 20 y.o. invites her mom and I to concerts and movies all the time. It feels so awesome when she walks in and asks to watch tv with us. She and her little sister are the reason I gave up my business. I do miss my professional success, but I'm succeeding even more by raising them properly.

Hell yeah but it’s easier if you have peace of mind. This is why I advise people to really spend time on themselves. Improving their lives while figuring out what actually makes them happy. When you have peace of mind you tend to attract a partner with it as well.. Or a certain high level of thinking.. So it’s more of y’all coming to an agreement if you were to break up and it’s no hard feelings whatsoever. Still hard but not nearly as hard as someone taking the little peace you had with them away. Of course you won't be able to see your family as much when you're traveling and working like that. The world isn't black and white. You can have everything you've ever wanted in the realm of materialism, and still be unhappy. Materialism is nothing. No one will remember you for your cars and mansions when you die. They will remember you based on the time they spent with you. The memories you formed together... if you spend no time with the people in your life, what will they remember you for? Nice cars? A private jet? I doubt anyone wants to just be remembered for that.

I’m a multimillionaire business owner but could have had much more money which I gladly sacrificed the extra money to spend a ton of time raising my daughter. No parent, mother or father, spent more time with their child than I did and because of that we are still extremely close even though she is all grown up with a daughter of her own. She recently told me that I was the perfect man, which I’m not, but I do think I was an awesome father and that means more to me than all the money in world. I don’t care how you rich you are if you aren’t a good parent you are a failure.

@@darkpaw1522 this makes me so frustrated when I think about it. Poverty is a locked cycle and there’s not really any way around it besides shithouse luck. Poor people have so much less time. And that scale is comparable at all levels, poverty to middle class, middle to upper, etc. Someone who can afford a car will have way more time than someone who has to take the bus. Someone with a heated driveway can get an extra hour of sleep over the guy who has to shovel. Someone who can afford regular dental cleanings won’t need to get a root canal. I could go on for days. Money is time. And time is everything

My son will never be 16 years old again, I can never relive today. Money is important to provide for your family, but time is priceless.

You don’t have to be a billionaire to regret working so hard. Plenty of people work too hard and don’t achieve that success. His kids will always be grateful to him in at least some ways for the comfort they will live in. The tragedy is when you worked your ass off and failed, and you didn’t get to see your kids and they didn’t at least get compensated with an above average standard of living, that’s the risk you run.
