I've been to Monaco and Cannes before, and it was a great trip to get to know a new city with lots of rich people. The values and qualities are simply higher than in other cities. The area is not just for the rich, but also for tourists. Have fun visiting :)

I live in the south of France not too far from Monaco… Ummmm it’s not that great compared to where I live… I have 1 acre in a forest mountain area with a nice size home and rental property on the land and me and my husband don’t even make 100k per year…. Sooooo yeah

You can enjoy Monaco without being rich. That is the real kicker. When I was starting out, many, many moons ago, as a teenage mom and then RN, I decided the chances of me being rich and traveling the world were not great, but I could choose to live in one of those fabulous playgrounds by the water full time, and so I did. And it was a playground, not just for the rich, but for me too. Climbing the real estate ladder in such a place really does build wealth over time. If you leave, you take that wealth with you and can live large in an affordable place. If you stay, you can live in beauty and comfort, but maybe not opulence, which is overrated, in my experience.

I rented out a bedroom to vacationing windsurfers. My bed and bath was on one side of the house, theirs on the other. They helped pay my mortgage and build equity. I saved money. When I sold and traded up, I continued to rent out a bedroom for several years. After that, I traded up without needing to rent rooms. Having roommates can be fun. They are gone a lot, you are gone a lot, so it is not bad.

in these kind of place…there has to be servers and the people they serve. without the servers, the place will not be beautiful ..someone has to clean, maintain the house and garden..cook and serve food and drinks, make the bed etc. The ones who get served has to compensate the servers so they can make a living. I have been to Monaco on a modest tourist bus. Nevertheless we rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous just by walking around or enjoying a drink in one of the bars, or eating at a restaurant. It was an incredible experience. I absolutely loved it. The highlight was watching the fireworks bursting over the bay while fabulous music was playing. Just magical.

All of the money paid in taxes is generated by private enterprise. So, because so many people made poor choices in their lives and have found themselves homeless those of us who have worked hard on making good decisions for our lives and futures, we should be footing the bill for the poor and homeless. Not a chance !! And I don’t feel one bit bad about that either. I grew up where anyone could have anything they wanted….all they had to do is work for it, which I have. I would agree that there are some very unfortunate circumstances out there but when my son was only 13yo he had a bicycle and started his own car washing business in and around the neighborhood. By the time he was 16yo w all A’s in school and active on the school trap shooting team, he had saved up right at $10k for himself…..didn’t have a drivers license, no car, and no excuses….HE WORKED FOR IT !!! ANYONE w two arms and two legs can work and make money and find ways to support themselves. It pisses me off when people like you make fucktard comments about those who have success and we should be carrying for the homeless. Tell ya what, give up a room in your house. I have been to Monaco on a modest tourist bus. Nevertheless we rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous just by walking around or enjoying a drink in one of the bars, or eating at a restaurant. It was an incredible experience. I absolutely loved it. The highlight was watching the fireworks bursting over the bay while fabulous music was playing. Just magical.
I don't know how I feel about this excessive lifestyle. The outrage expectations and entitlement are just wrong.

Some are going to rise up and some are going to fall down. This will never change and it’s not wrong to be one that rises up it’s just an inevitability. Wealthy people usually put their money to work in private enterprise which produces products and services that people want and creates jobs for everyone else. All of the money paid in taxes is generated by private enterprise. When people engage in private enterprise they learn the financial machinations of life which enables them to expand and keep their wealth. This is not wrong or greed it’s just inevitable.

We once drove through Monaco, to see how it was, but it lacked any kind of atmosphere or cultural heritage. So much more beautiful places along the Cote d'Azur and towards Cinque Terre in Italy. Monaco is just to see and to be seen.. 😘
