Moash does save Kaladin in WoK. During one of the last bridge runs Dunny dies after taking a bunch of arrows and collapses on the Bridge. Kaladin goes in to help, but it is too late and the army nearly tramples him but Moash pulls him back.
Regarding Moash saving Kaladin's life: it happens in Ch53 of Way of Kings, when Duny dies on a bridge run. Moash prevents Kaladin from getting trampled while trying to retreive the body.
I think the "in the storm I awaken" line is going to be the moment of one of Kaladin's next words and i think it is going to have to do with a confrontation with Moash. Either the grieving is cause the ideal has lead him to strike down someone he did not want to strike down for the sake of protecting the greater whole/good of people, or (while it doesnt quite fit the grieving) perhaps letting himself be struck down to protect someone else from having to do it (not letting Moash strike him down but someone else ergo "saving" him from himself). Definitely stretching but that is what theories are
The ketek referring to "silence above the illuminating storms" has always made me think of Urithiru being above the highstorms, and the dying off of the storm as it rages across Roshar.
Not much else left in WoK - there's Hoid's letter and Jasnah's notes on the Voidbringers, and though I am sure we can talk about those, it's probably not a full episode worth of blab. WoR has Navani's journal (which is not very interesting), the listener songs (which are, but we've talked about them... somewhere, I think), the in-world WoR (which might be interesting), Frost's response to Hoid, and the excerpts from the Diagram. I guess we could cobble together an episode or two...
Why are we assuming that the Stormfather visions is a bonding attempt? I was under the impression it was just the Stormfather showing the visions and that his bonding with Dalinar was not directly related?
the "All is withdrawn for me" one sounds like Moash to me. "All is withdrawn for me" - I'm dead inside. I feel nothing. Nothing is my fault. "I stand against the one who saved my life" - Moash is now opposed to Kaladin, joining the singers. "I protect the one who killed my promises" - Moash has turned against what he was learning to stand for in bridge 4. He promised/swore he would avenge his grandparents and accomplished that by killing the king. And end to a promise (by breaking it or fulfilling it) could be described as killing it, much as death is the end of life. "I Raise my hand. the Storm Responds" - He's been given the windrunner oathblade in service of the singers so has windrunner powers. We saw Kaladin direct the winds in a battle with the fused at one point. Alternatively, this could also be referring to the everstorm working with Moash in battles, not necessarily the high storm(s). OR "I raise my hand" like "I raise my hand in defiance" and "The storm responds" in retribution to his defiance.
I thought it is a reference to Kaladin Vs Moash in the future with the death rattle going to either of the two. For me the "protect the one who killed my promises" doesn't work perfectly for Moash as of yet or even Kaladin for that matter.
Yeah no Moash 100% saved Kaladin's life in the way of Kings during one of the bridge runs, that death rattle is definitely the third ideal Also I'm pretty sure we weren't told that the Stormfather's visions had anything to do with bonding (in fact, he seemed reluctant to bond at all)
Also i DESPERATELY want to see a in depth breakdown/theorizing of the.....finer details of all the magics, especially small things since Brandon started dropping key words for Mistborn magic (capitalized Identity and Connection when referring to the Singers) More depth into the .....inconsistencies of feruchemy (the thought process brought up by the "mystery " individual who talked to Wax about his Steelpush combined with this Feruchemy weight control) and what the implications are.
The in the storm I awaken one makes me think we are being way too lenient with our interpretations of these death rattles, especially last episode. I think if you have to stretch it to fit, then you're probably wrong. I think they'll all be like the ones we know basically for sure. So obvious that it seems ludicrous anything else could fit.
Regarding the Shin deathrattle where he refuses to speak; do we see any other Shin experiencing deathrattles? Could it be that he was able to control his response to the deathrattle because of his ethnicity?
Didn't you guys previously talk about the stormfather sending his visions to multiple people at the same time? I got the impression that he sort of flung it about hoping it would stick somewhere.
I think the black piper one could be "the Thrill" in a pied piper scenario. The Alethi would not crave it if they knew it was an unmade. Also the ketek silence above/below could refer to the end of Kaladins duel with Seth at end of WoR Kal calm above the storm and Szeth dead below (on the ground) the storm. My 2 cents anyways
The “in the storm I awaken, falling, spinning, grieving” is definitely (RoW Spoilers) Kaladin before Swearing the fourth ideal in the air above Urithuru
I can't believe Brandon forshadowed Kal's fourth ideal in Way of Kings. So crazy.
If he gets to the 5th ideal, it's probably hidden in there somewhere too
I'm convinced there's stuff through book 5 in these, if not farther.

And I think the name of the chapter is like...the one who saves.

You were pretty much right! Good job!
Dang this comment aged like a fine wine.
"In the storm I awaken, falling, spinning, grieving" -> Kaladin RoW
Yep!
11:50 Seen it now lol and it was awesome 😎
Lett's see how long it takes Eric to remember to switch the screen layout
11:30 and the fourth death rattle!
The ketek referring to "silence above the illuminating storms" has always made me think of Urithiru being above the highstorms, and the dying off of the storm as it rages across Roshar.
Same.
Very cool to go back and listen to these two podcasts after reading Rhythm of War. Many of the Death Rattles are obvious after book 4.
Please do more episodes about the epigraphs from WOK and WOR! These are my favorites.

yeah, feels like it's from Syl's POV to me
the death rattle is about daylight savings time, and it is useless, because everyone knows that daylight savings time is awful.
I never knew how to clap before....
First one feels like when Kaladin takes the jump in RoW, hindsight 20/20.
I like how obvious it is too. no fancy symbolism. just literally what it says.
@@officiallyaninja same with falling in the storm.

Revisit the deathrattles with RoW knowledge!!!

Well the Shin know the Truth (whatever that is precisely), so i guess a Shin would be likely to know what is going on and hence be uncooperative.

48:00 wasn't there that time that Kaladin makes the windspren slow the winds of a highstorm to save those people?
The “in the storm I awaken, falling, spinning, grieving” is definitely (RoW Spoilers)
Kaladin before Swearing the fourth ideal in the air above Urithuru
Yep, for sure. -Eric
@@17thShard It’s crazy how specific they end up being as time goes on, I wonder how far into the back half they end up coming true
Agreed, I can't wait to see how they will go!
Above a silent land could be that the land has gone silent due to death. Or it could also mean the singers and their rhythms not being present.
I really wonder what the Shin history books are like
yay they read my wtcc!
I honestly think Cenn's death rattle is about Hoid and his scheming
also, I wonder how important ancestry and profession are in these death rattles.
WTCC - 1:22:08
So I know this was a year ago, but isn’t the black piper the name on the cover of the Kaladin soundtrack?
