Just like when side imaging came out, I told a friend that wins a lot of big tournaments in my area. Your screwed, someone sees you fishing a spot, all they have to do is mark a way point where you are and go back and see what you are fishing. No one is going to stop technology. Get used to it.
Great video Mr. Castledine, Why don't they have a FFS division and a non FFS division. If anything we will get more data on fish weight and other data.
Good points. Elites, not an Open, at Smith Lake. My opinion, FFS is the bridge too far in the upper levels of pro bass fishing (Elite, Opens, BPT, Invitationals). Ban it there, and let it run it's course everywhere else.
How does that make sense? You can use something to qualify for the Elite series and then can’t use it on the Elite series when you get there? That’s like saying someone can go out flipping brush piles in the opens and then flipping is banned at the Elite series level. That makes zero sense.
@HawgWyldFishing Well, not exactly. Wooden bats aren't used in amateur ball, but are exclusively used in MLB. I'd guess that the majority of professional sports have unique aspects to their rules, equipment and playing fields. So yeah, it wouldn't be unprecedented to see a ban on FFS just for the Elites but not other levels.
Hey man, whatever it is comes with professional tournament fishing and it is what it is whether you like it or not because it’s not rocket science to deal with a greedy game. Pro tournament fishing is corrupted in many ways. I learn a lot about fishing tournaments professionally and how they are structured to ensure the malfunction of their crafts. I live in a real world of no rules to follow and will never be in my feelings for anyone’s opinion about BASS FISHING but respect it for what it is, not just protection for pro anglers. Bro you agreed to a challenge and have not own up to it til now. It’s all good because I know it as well as you. Keep doing what you’re doing man, this isn’t personal.
The solution is to keep focusing on fishing, and improving the marketability to new people. Expanding the consumer base to new people, by focusing on the positive aspects that we already have, as well as trying to create new ones whenever and wherever possible. We have to find more ways to take the sport of tournament bass fishing at the highest levels, and finding ways to create positive changes through avenues that inspire more people, specifically more younger people, to want to get into the sport and make as many ways that can possibly be made, as accessible as they can possibly be. More poorer people are into or would be more into fishing than people from better backgrounds. But nothing about the sport lends itself to catering to those people. The grassroots of tournament bass fishing are essentially just local jackpot tournaments. Where the rules aren’t very well defined, the people running the show aren’t held to any sort of standards, and it doesn’t actually help anyone move up the ladder to the next level. And the big leagues are so centered around their corporate sponsors that they won’t have anything to do with promoting ways that make it better for the guys trying to build their way up from the bottom, because that means they are probably buying a used boat, and used trolling motor and used graphs, and used rods and reels, and that means they won’t touch anything about it. They only promote the idea that everyone just needs to keep everything they already have, and everyone else just needs to get over themselves and go ahead and buy that sponsors brand new model of boat, with this sponsors brand new model of motor, and this sponsors brand new sonar technology and that sponsors brand new model of trolling motor and matching shallow water anchors. Because going $120,000 in debt before they ever hit the lake is what’s best for the corporate sponsors, and that’s all that matters. All anglers be damned. If they focused more on promoting growth to the system from the ground up, from the grass roots up, then the lawn would be nice and lovely. But trying to grow a nice lawn from the top down is how you end up where bass fishing is today, and in the direction it has been going in for over a decade now. Slowly pushing out the lower end, and trying to starve the roots, to support the rest of the grass. What you end up with a yard full of dried up, nutrient deficient dirt.
I honestly think that most of the people that don’t like FFS do so because of the price point. If the price was lower and easily available for everyone at everyone’s budget then the kickback wouldn’t be as bad. I on the other hand understand that any hobby isn’t cheap.
I agree with you that technology been continue to improve. I agree with you about the direction of our sport and it’s not going technology. Based on the information, the solution is to not allow live scope during term competition days. This is no different than limiting equipment For golf, pros NASCAR drivers, Professional baseball and like.
I think that banning FFS would be detrimental to the sport, if we as specters stop watching pro tournaments, the sport will die, & we would be wishing we could watch a tournament, sometimes it is boring, but I don't see it no different than the pros looking at the other graphs, fishing is boring when the pros are not catching, I personally don't have one, but I would consider it, because it would save time locating fish, & that would make for a more productive day!🎣👍
I think the scarry part is they are setting a presedent that someone else is allowed to tell me how to conume media. It isn't enough that they tune out, they have to insist that I can't watch it either. I personally don't care for "reality tv", but I would never insist that ABC or CBS remove shows like Survivor or Big Brother. Hopefully the 2025 season will help answer the question of what the fans want. If viewership goes up then continue to tighten the regulations of new technology, if it goes down then go back to allowing the anglers to decide.
It's dividing the sport.I agree we're going to see splits in the professional fishing tours over FFS.I also see some states stepping in and banning it.
Due to the drastic decline in crappie somewhere they lowered the creel limit. The state agency was saying they thought it was due to Ffs.This article was shared on a fishing forum I was on.Not sure if it will happen. If I run across it again I ll share it.
@terrymorris7773 I did see that they lowered limits on three lakes. After a survey where they did see anglers with ffs were more efficient at catching limits. However they didn't mention banning it. If a state were to try to ban it the litigation involved would be very costly. While fishery biologist worry about pan fish as most people take them home they don't really worry about bass as the vast majority of people release them. So we will most likely see creel limits drop on some lakes we should keep in mind that they would drop limts before ffs due to fishing pressure. And also they will drop limts not because of fewer fish but because of size quality of them. This just happened at a lake near me. When I looked up creel counts there was more fish in the lake than in 2017 before ffs. But the size of bluegill were on average were smaller so they dropped the pan fish limit to 10 to try to improve the numbers of big bluegill. I think the question moving foward is should we expect our fishery to fill the freezer of a few or allow it let more people to catch fish and take a few home for a meal.
Jesus Christ on a motorbike..😅.. We should all feel blessed beyond measure that this is not the case. My first two bass rods were Ugly Sticks first pistol grip rods. I can’t remember which, but they were either 5’6” or 6’ rods, and I was so excited to have those suckers. Until I really got out there trying to use them. Then I realized that they were not it. They were the polar opposite of “it”. Whatever “it” is, they weren’t related. 😂😂Walmart sold more functional rods for $15 a piece than those damn rods were. Their best function would’ve been taking the reel off and beating someone over the head with that awkward ass handle. 😂😂😂
I think a solution is for it to be limited to a specific time period. 3-4 hours a day. Timer installed in the boat. Find the school, turn it off and fish it to save time. Use it to find structure and get lined up. To your point, I think the small minority is the vocal majority. People like to see people beating the bank or old school ledge fishing. Personally I enjoy watching livescope because I enjoy using it.
I think I would ban it. Then have a few special events that allow it. But I’m not really sure . I’ve argued for both sides. Much of the complaints are not based on reality. But a lot of people don’t like it. That’s a real issue. I don’t like that it’s changed the sport so much . I really liked tournaments pre live scope. Not sure I would be interested in fishing tournament if o was new to the sport now.
What if we just limited number of screens and transducers on the boat and the amount of time you could use forward facing sonar... MLF for example you could only use it one of your three periods 🤷
If scientific evidence convinces state government to ban it. Nobody can use it in regular fishing or tournaments. But in my opinion if it is banned, knowing that there is a forbidden technique that catches more fish will be haunting. It’ll be like prohibition.
@@leojeidy8010just wait until they are out there and the boat starts to leak. You’ll see them popping the graph and sonar box off and getting ready to swim their way to the shore with it if they can’t make it there with the boat first. Damn the rods and tackle. That graph is coming with me safely to dry ground😂😂😂.
They been banning them in local and reservoir tournaments around here cause not everyone can afford it, alot of older fellas just don't want to fool with it. They started having low turnouts last year cause only the few who had that tech was dominating, everyone else just quit entering.
Tod technology never backs up. Most of the complaints I hear are about watching someone looking down at their electronics. Instead of watching someone on TV or on your streaming channel why don’t they go fishing? If you have time to set on your behind you have time to go make a few casts at bass yourself. How many professional anglers are there on TV? There is 98 fishing the Elite on Smith and there is 79 fishing MLF. That is a very minimal number of anglers using FFS that release their catch either upon weighing them at the boat or after the weigh in. It’s the the guys that catch and release their catch in grease they should be concerned about not some tournament fisherman. Those released bass during tournaments are only getting educated, maybe that’s what scares those complaining.
I've always thought splitting half the schedule with ffs and half without was a good idea. After hearing ronnie on your video that idea has some holes in it too. I don't see any good options at the moment unfortunately.
And it is a problem not just a small amount of people talking... If it were States wouldn't be changing their creel limits and blaming it on livescope impact on the lakes
There are a lot more issues than FFS in the industry. I know what solution to the FFS I would prefer. I don't think that alone would keep this industry from going belly up in the next 5-10yrs. I wish these tournament organizations would sit down, take conversation of profit off the table and discuss how to make this a legitimate sport. They do that and the profit will come.
So with your logic, wouldn't it still be the best fisherman anyways. How would banning it show you who the best fisherman is? Aren't they all supposed to be the best of the best?
I've used it a bunch and there is no denying it is different and makes fishing different. Both you guys are right, but @dayv619 has a point if you took it away it would change who we thought was the best fishermen. Most of the guys that are having success would struggle not just a little but a lot.
We are watching who is the best at catching 5 big fish and bringing them to weigh in. The same as we always have. What is the definition for best fisherman? I think it’s the guy that shows up with the biggest bag consistently using all the tools they are allowed to use for their trail. They had a no ffs tournament and the cryers didn’t show up. Can’t take them seriously if they won’t put their money where their mouth is
The only “exciting” watching as it applies to bass fishing tv/tournaments, I think, are topwater blowups. Otherwise, whether or not they are watching FFS is irrelevant - flipping, dragging worms, or even crankbaiting look the same with or without FFS. So what it brings to tv is watching more fish get caught and more understanding of fish habitat and behavior, esp when they show the FFS screen on tv. I say keep it. I think the train has left the station. If hater influence affected total viewership in a negative way, BASS would have already made changes. I think there may be effort to limit number of transducers, but I don’t see that as making significant difference. In my humble opinion.
I watched it all day, and I can honestly say while watching FFS guys fish I was bored as Hell!! And couldn't wait for them to put the camera back on the bank beaters...And I will also say that the bank beaters are doing very well in this turnament so far. Would really love to see Kennedy or Huff pull the win off.
What’s the difference? Both guys are looking away from the camera, casting and casting until the get a bite. It’s the same exact thing. Both are equally boring until a fish gets caught.
@HawgWyldFishing Actually it's not for me, I like looking at the bank compassion and the transitions. I want to see what kind of structure the bites are coming off of, and in watching that there is much more excitement and anticipation.
I have gone back and forth. I don't have a solution, I'd be perfectly okay if it was banned, and I have it and use it. But, here's an idea: Why not BAN it at the Open level to ensure those at the very top made it without a crutch? Then we KNOW they are the best of the best. Then, at the top echelon, allow LS, allow every tool available. Then maybe have the championship (Classic, etc) be LS free.
I've worked in Oil &Gas since 1988..from the drilling rigs, workover rigs, land, offshore, dangerous jobs, with no days off schedule. My escape was fishing. We held huge oilfield bass tournaments on Toledo Bend. Now I went from the rigs to the Board room, filthy hard work to suits, ties and cigars. The one thing I could not stand it bitching and complaining. When it comes to on the water BS " like Chris Zaldain" pulled!! Yeah show up at my work Boy...Please. At our tournaments that was handled in the parking lot. Our world has become so dang whimped out that boys run their mouth and real men are supposed to take it...rise up fellas..and shut them up the old fashioned way...👊
Zaldain not only was wrong in that situation, he doubled down on it afterwards. Like I understand that local fishing was probably a bit of a toolbag if he was really such a fanboy he was streaming bass live while fishing. But as a pro you gotta be better than that.
If FFS, fishing fish with electronics (finding fish without actually fishing) is legal; we should make trolling legal, because that's finding fish by fishing at least.
Limit # of xducers and screens and "no-scope" in the Elites to showcase the anglers knowledge, experience, and ability so that the young anglers have a model to emulate. Fwiw.
A lot of the folks that are best with LiveScope are pretty young, and surely not all of them started with money. I wouldn't be surprised if young Todd wouldn't be out beating people with borrowed 'Scope.
Hey Jody my first new boat was when I was 30 and we won that and it wasnt my first boat to win. Most of my individual wins came after that, all of my other wins came in team stuff where I fished out of others boats. I promise it would have been hard. Plus I didn't get my first boat until I was 26. I had 25 wins by that time out of partners boats.
We are hearing from the vocal minority. The fact that FFS free events aren't popping up everywhere says a lot. Those that whine the most wouldn't have fished anyways. At this point when I head to a regional event, probably 95% of guys have FFS. It's too late to ban it imo. Just look at this event at Smith. Would it really be more entertaining if guys were fishing the same way, just with 2d and catching less fish?
I sat around a hunting camp once and watched grown men trying to start a fire and they couldn’t as they had no clue how to “build” a fire - they were used to using an electric hot iron but hey we lost electricity and they were lost which blew my mind; zero basic skills. I had to show them how to build a fire. If a 19 yr old youngin comes up on FFS yeah he is gonna do good? They know their electronics. Now take that away because that is their crutch, they will have a really tough time competing because they don’t have basic skills they’ve relied on tech to prop them up. Take older school tourney crews and hey they use FFS awesome take advantage of the tech? No issue but the difference being if they all sudden ban FFS the old school crew is going to shine because they fished the timeframes where it didn’t exist, relying on knowledge of fish behavior and such. Will those youngins learn quick? Oh yeah, but it will take time. End f the day I think tourneys without it are more enjoyable, but that’s me and guess what? Just me - you do you fish FFS I wish ya the best still fish with ya if you invite me??
I don't think livescope wrecked anything, what has wrecked tournament fishing if anything is the all day live. But too me a camera in the boat with or without it all day is boring. I watched guys Livestream from that tournament that it was banned and it looked the same. The reason guys hate is either its too much money or they can't figure it out. The one's who can't figure it out don't seem to want to put the work in to get better at it
Watching Bass Live, is just as boring as watching FFS fishing.Watch someone flipping a jig and maybe u see them catch one fish the whole time! Yeah, real exciting, but I don't watch that either! Only highlights! Would much rather watch Alabama waters etc.Best video content if u want to learn!!!
@@bobbythrasher5393 What I've come to dislike on the Live is the constant attention given to just a few fishermen. It's usually those in the top ten and maybe some outside but up in the AOY points. That makes sense. I know they have to limit the number of cameras but I have noticed in the last few tournaments, I just don't watch. I also dislike fishing in summer and that carries over in watching summer fishing on southern lakes. I will watch them stroke small mouth up north though.
The next shoe to drop when the season is finished later this summer will be the tournament lakes, dates and the rules changes if any for 2025. If there are rule changes away from FFS, you know it is closer to 50/50. One thing is for sure, the older dudes ain't getting it done anymore.
This is true, I think something will be there, not sure what. The older dudes not getting it done is weird to me because in some of these place they are going they don’t need FFS
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 I've noticed, the more a pro complains about FFS, the less likely he is to do well in the tournament. Most of those guys are defeated before the derby starts.
the thing that blows my mind is people act like the only ones that are concerned are the old timers ( Randy's of the world) when in reality i have the majority of my middle aged friends 28-35 , many sticks in their own right, that don't want it in our local Wednesday nighters. i mean to be fair the guys that have it right now are mostly the rich 55+ crowd and they still suck with it and honestly would do better taking it off most days lol and we only get the occasional young guy with it that is not that great with it either, but that's the biggest thing, they are NOT good at fishing period, and yet you're still seeing these same guys that couldn't catch a limit, start to cash more than they don't. and not because they now understand a range of new fish behaviors and techniques, making them better quicker. its because they got lucky this week and found a school of suspended fish that happened to want to bite two baits they have on their deck a minnow or jerkbait... I'm not going to make tournaments pay my bills, not in this life time. but i enjoy the getting out there and competing, and I'm just not interested in taking out another mortgage on my home (in this economy especially, sorry to go politics, its just a factor that cant be ignored.) just to be able to compete. which is only going to get worse as it progresses. I'm not saying its not awesome tech, that's teaching us a ton about fish behavior, use it all you want to go understand fish, it just has NO place in tournament angling. End of.
28-35 is now middle aged now? Damn, making me feel old at 34 now. Lol I agree with a lot of what you said. Only guys I know who have livescope are older also and half the time they never use it anyways. Shoot, even if I could afford it I couldn't justify spending the money on it, especially since I don't fish tourneys. Keep it out of tourneys, let us see who the real hammers are.
Yes please don't stop showing the "fish catching stuff", it is the reason I watch your videos. Real life is full of drama, why bring it into fishing? Agree with @David-sb3ny, "no one is going to stop technology". I personally do not want to go back to the days of flashers and paper maps.
The only solution is to have 2 different divisions. One plays with it, one plays without it. Drama will be everyone talking smack to each other from each division. Bassmaster should have banned it a long time ago, let mlf keep it. I have it, I don't fish tournaments, and you will never see me using it heads down staring at the screen 100% of the time out on the water like you see the "pros" doing it. I may glance at it, 10% of the time on the water. Which most recreational fisherman are doing. Just go out and people watch, watch how they are fishing 90% of the people I see just fishing, are still just fishing. The only guys you ever see with the heads down are either in a tournament or practicing for one. The everyday angler is still just fishing even if they has ffs. I think the majority of people still want to just see regular fishing. Could be totally wrong, I think it's way way more than 10% pretty sure is split 50/50, that's why there should be 2 pro level formats one with it and one that keeps the traditional fishing alive...
Okay Todd, I hate to ask for it but dad gum it I need your opinion. How in the world did Trey McKinney miss weigh in by 7 minutes when he was at the ramp? He got a call from family and had to forfeit his entire day….. from 2nd to 93rd. What a bizarre event and drama follows him. If you don’t want to comment I understand but I’ve never fished big tournaments and this just blows my mind, to be that close and miss it by that much.
Yea, I’ll comment eventually but it’s weird how certain things follow certain people. I’ve fished over 500 events and never been late. I’d say there are some things that might be holding him back. Sometimes you don’t realize that certain things in life might hurt you even though you think you’re helping him.
Maybe social media is a bigger problem than F.F.S?? If platforms would de-monitize videos about F.F.S., would influencers still make videos stirring the pot about it?? Would it be as big of an issue that it appears to be?? I don't know. Just something that struck me listening to your video. Would the percentage of people making noise about it, still do it if thier views and likes didn't matter?
How come nobody complains about paying over three thousand for a spot lock trolling motor that may or may not work every time you want to go fishing. If it hasn’t happened to you just wait it’s coming 😂
So basically………. You have to have at least $25, 000 to be competitive! Most fishermen in this shitty economy can’t even afford to pay entry fees in mini boat tournaments!! Unreal! My kids don’t have a chance!😮
Ban it! It’s easy just send a email out after st Lawerence to all bassmaster open and elite competitors that beginning January 1, 2025 ffs will no longer be allowed in tournament competition. Personally, I’m a lifelong bassin fan and I don’t think it has a place in tourneys. Let the googan, guides and weekend anglers eat their heart out tho. Standing on the front deck while your black box x-rays fish isn’t gonna help this become a sport in anyone’s eyes. Instincts are what people want to see, people that have the 6th sense, high tournament iq, perfect strategy, and fished their heart out. Not a continuous cycle of rich kids with daddy’s money and unlimited spare time. It’s a lifetime of dedication, hardwork, and sacrifices that make the anglers elite. Not the size of their daddy’s bank account.
At least ban it at obvious FFS lakes or just pick 2 or 3 tours per year where it's not allowed. Give the guy that spent his entire career studying conditions and tactics a fighting chance. You're forcing guys to use a technique they don't want to, just to compete.
Will banning FFS hurt some and help others? Sure. Will it help the sport? I doubt it. Reason being fishing is one of those sports that is exciting when you watch catches not 8 hours of it with a catch every 10 minutes. If you look at the difference of watching 2 hours of MLF Team Fishing verses 8 hours of live, it is night and day. You get an edited day with the best bits where you can have an engaging product. As far as the cost, well the industry will reset, and prices will adjust. The industry is riding the wave of consumers paying the 100,000 for a boat right now. When that stops, they will adjust or shut their doors.
Banning FFS sonar would be as foolish as banning all forms of modern vehicles in a effort to return to the good ole days of horse and buggy.... better yet go 100% Rickshaws. Fishing tech will never stop evolving. So either embrace it or sit on the bank with your can-o-worms, cane pole and pout. We live in a Free Enterprise system that chases profit margins. Tech is a huge tool to accomplish that goal.... always has been always will be. The Fishing Industry is pretty small in the Fortune 500 world which means the latest and greatest of tech wont show up untill its yesterdays news. Can you imagine how great FFS would be if the fishing industry had bigger market share.... Whoa!!! Bottom line is embrace tech or pout and get left behind.
Unfortunately, people complaining without providing solutions isn’t relegated to fishing alone. It’s pervaded through every part of anything. For me, the worst part is the lack of anything being followed to its logical conclusion. The only thing worse than a first order thinker is anyone that stops between second order and one step before the logical conclusion. Because to them, they’ve figured it out, are unwilling to change their mind, and feel the need to convert others to it.
The whole thing is just stupid. Try it before you hate it. Uninformed opinions are stupid opinions. A complete FFS system can be had for less than the cost of a premium sonar unit. My homeowners insurance went up 44% this year. Everyone should be complaining about that. Could have bought a Livescope for the difference.
You need to say that ,your in favor of ffs or not? Ffs is not fun to watch are learn a new way to fish a bait. A angler uses his knowledge to find the spot where the fish setup.
Watch my videos, check out how I fish, I’ve made tons of videos about it. Over 20 videos I’ve talked about it. I couldn’t be more clearer on what I think about it.
Sometimes I don't get what you don't get; but, it's neither here nor there. My problem with FFS is the influctuation of bass tournament fishermen (who wouldn't have become bass fishermen without FFS including HS and college), saturation of the sport with boats/competition because of FFS and the cost that it brings. I could give 2 shits why ppl do or don't like watching tournament fishing. However, the viewers like to see their "hero"; or at least a name they recognize, in the Top 10 vs. some kid that no one has ever heard of in the Top 10. I like to fish tournaments. Not watch them.
I've said the same thing that most of the new fishermen wouldn't be here without it. Maybe not as loud as I should have, but I have said it. I just hate getting attacked for something that is true. It's not saying that they dont deserve to be here because its within the rules and they did nothing wrong. Two things can be true at the same time, some of these folks that argue one can't seem to wrap their minds around that.
Two things that are always true-Everyone was a nobody at some point and nothing last forever just because you’ve been an elite for 5,10,15 years that doesn’t mean you will always be one.
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 While I don't think these new fisherman would be near as dominant without it, I still think they are outworking the crap out of many of the veterans. These kids aren't leaving the road and are constantly pre-fishing. Livescope or not the results would reflect that.
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 Then there should be FFS and non FFS tournaments. I can't understand why the old guard simply seems unable to compete consistently since they should be using all that gained knowledge and SI/DI to find their spots.
90k bass boats is not marketable lmao
Clark Wendlant explained it best, thanks Clark
I honestly think that most of the people that don’t like FFS do so because of the price point. If the price was lower and easily available for everyone at everyone’s budget then the kickback wouldn’t be as bad. I on the other hand understand that any hobby isn’t cheap.
I agree with you that technology been continue to improve. I agree with you about the direction of our sport and it’s not going technology. Based on the information, the solution is to not allow live scope during term competition days. This is no different than limiting equipment For golf, pros NASCAR drivers, Professional baseball and like.
I think that banning FFS would be detrimental to the sport, if we as specters stop watching pro tournaments, the sport will die, & we would be wishing we could watch a tournament, sometimes it is boring, but I don't see it no different than the pros looking at the other graphs, fishing is boring when the pros are not catching, I personally don't have one, but I would consider it, because it would save time locating fish, & that would make for a more productive day!🎣👍
They sure didn't have a problem banning the Alabama Rig.
@@robertlane370 I don't know why they did
I think the scarry part is they are setting a presedent that someone else is allowed to tell me how to conume media.
What state is banning it?
I quit tournaments, I can’t beat the FFS with the young kids, so I just go fishing, I am 57, and I just go have fun
If it wasn't for tournament fishing we'd still be using pistol grip rods 😅
Great video Todd,
I think I would ban it.
What if you were only able to ffs on practice days in a tournament?
If scientific evidence convinces state government to ban it.
Nobody can use it in regular fishing or tournaments.
But in my opinion if it is banned, knowing that there is a forbidden technique that catches more fish will be haunting. It’ll be like prohibition.
People see guys fishing with a tiller steering and flatbottom boat...ahhh the good ole days...NOPE the good ole days are now
And most of those tiller steer flat bottoms got the latest tech lol I get a kick out guys in a 500 dollar boat with 2,500 dollars of eltronics in it.
Whoop whoop. First to comment and like 😆
When's the Lake Tyler and Toledo Bend videos getting uploaded?
Tyler will be uploaded, Toledo won’t day 2 footage was lost, and day 3 of practice . lBJ is almost done
They been banning them in local and reservoir tournaments around here cause not everyone can afford it, alot of older fellas just don't want to fool with it. They started having low turnouts last year cause only the few who had that tech was dominating, everyone else just quit entering.
One tournament with one without . Cream will rise to the top
I like watching the elites use FFS, because I've been leaning it myself so it's relatable to me.
I think fans just want to know who the best fisherman is and since FFS we no longer know who is.
Can’t take them seriously if they won’t put their money where their mouth is
@@devinwillis7787 I would say the definition of the best fisherman is someone who can catch fish with minimal to 0 computer technology
@@dayv619 what about someone who can do it without a boat? Is that even better?
Bingo.
That’s a new take that’s interesting
Jacob Wheeler won tournaments before it & if they ban it guess what ? He's still going to win tournaments you've either got it or you don't
That’s one person
That's true brother I just hate all the division it's causing
That’s not the new guys everyone is talking about
he is the exception not the rule.
This is exactly the way I feel
I don't think livescope wrecked anything, what has wrecked tournament fishing if anything is the all day live. But too me a camera in the boat with or without it all day is boring. I watched guys Livestream from that tournament that it was banned and it looked the same. The reason guys hate is either its too much money or they can't figure it out. The one's who can't figure it out don't seem to want to put the work in to get better at it
These are all true. I’m glad everyone so far in the comments have been right on point.👍👍
I agree that some of those guys haven’t tried to learn a thing.
There is no solution to make everyone happy. Whether anyone likes it or not technology drives the electronic industry.
A lot of these same fish can be caught with 360. We used to do it before ffs.
the thing that blows my mind is people act like the only ones that are concerned are the old timers ( Randy's of the world) when in reality i have the majority of my middle aged friends 28-35 , many sticks in their own right, that don't want it in our local Wednesday nighters. i mean to be fair the guys that have it right now are mostly the rich 55+ crowd and they still suck with it and honestly would do better taking it off most days lol and we only get the occasional young guy with it that is not that great with it either, but that's the biggest thing, they are NOT good at fishing period, and yet you're still seeing these same guys that couldn't catch a limit, start to cash more than they don't. and not because they now understand a range of new fish behaviors and techniques, making them better quicker. its because they got lucky this week and found a school of suspended fish that happened to want to bite two baits they have on their deck a minnow or jerkbait...
Ban it during tournaments, let them use it in practice. Sam reason professional baseball players can only use wood bats.
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 as a parent I know exactly what you’re talking about. 🚁 👩
I’m glad you read between the lines there.👍
Being fooled the most of us that don’t care don’t say anything just fish
I think they should cut down on the number of ffs units don't need but 1
Maybe social media is a bigger problem than F.F.S?? If platforms would de-monitize videos about F.F.S., would influencers still make videos stirring the pot about it?? Would it be as big of an issue that it appears to be?? I don't know. Just something that struck me listening to your video. Would the percentage of people making noise about it, still do it if thier views and likes didn't matter?
How come nobody complains about paying over three thousand for a spot lock trolling motor that may or may not work every time you want to go fishing. If it hasn’t happened to you just wait it’s coming 😂
Todd you look awfully sleepy. I want what you been smoking 😂
Todd you know that ffs has no place in pro bass fishing , and that should be the end
Just limit the damn thing based off of what the tournament organizers and state departments agree on. Relax fellas is “just fishing”
All I'm trying to solve is the whining and drama daily these days.... think I'll go fishing.
At least ban it at obvious FFS lakes or just pick 2 or 3 tours per year where it's not allowed. Give the guy that spent his entire career studying conditions and tactics a fighting chance. You're forcing guys to use a technique they don't want to, just to compete.
Guys are forced to use techniques they don’t like all the time. Nothing but flipping grass in Florida every yesr
Whoa!!!
Bottom line is embrace tech or pout and get left behind.
vocal minority. a lot of these guys have never even used it. takes a ton of time on the water to learn.
You can't ban FFS.
Where will the You Tubers find the same drama needed to fuel views and likes?
Good point 😂😂
I still make way more money fishing tournaments, RUclips is a hobby
Im jus here to see all the broke people cry about livescope. Show us where forward facing sonar hurt u. Its gonna be ok. Lmao
