Season 2 was 24's best season ever made. Jack and Kate's relationship was one of the highlights. Their story was played absolutely beautifully and very moving. Kate was Jack's redemption, his salvation to get his life back together. Kate was one of the few who truly understood Jack and what he had to do. She saw first hand the horrible things he does and still chose to trust him. Jack definitely fell in love with Kate at first sight, he felt a connection to her instantly. There was something between them since the moment they met. Aside from Chloe, his most mature and committed relationship he's ever had with a woman. I believe Jack was Kate's first serious relationship, first man she's ever been with. During season 2, she was this hard working responsible independent woman whose life was consumed by work with no social life whatsoever also her taking care of her family her whole life. She also had serious trust issues which explained her being careful and wary with Jack at first. She seemed to have major issues with men in general. Something put me off about their last phone call at the beginning of season 3. Like Kate was holding something back from Jack. Hence the jacket which was strange. The only logical explanation that actually makes sense: Kate was pregnant and kept it a secret from Jack. It would make sense. Possible scenario: Kate became pregnant to Jack just before he went undercover with the Salazar brothers. Jack walks out on Kate just before that in order to protect her, to make sure nothing happens to her because of him. His drug use and the danger of his job put some pressure in their relationship. She was scared that his job would eventually kill him like it killed Teri. His job got between him and Teri. Jack's relationship with Kate was far more intimate than anything he's ever had. He's opened up to her in ways he's never been open with anyone else. She is one of the best things that's ever happened to him but he didn't feel he deserved someone like her. So he walked out on her for her own good. But doing so he broke his own heart in the process. It was the hardest thing he's ever had to do ever since losing Teri. So in order to keep her and Jack's child safe, Kate would keep that child's existence secret from Jack. To make sure nothing bad happens to the child. Jack clearly deeply regretted his decision to leave Kate, he's spent his life after that subconsciously pining for her, wanting her back. But he believes she wouldn't want him back after what he put her through. If Jack would find out he has a love child with her, he would do everything in his power to get her back into his life. After Kate, his relationships with women were more like his band-aids for his losses of Teri and Kate. Teri and Kate are the two women in Jack's life whom he's never gotten over from.

I think it is mine too. Jack's emotional journey is the best of the series and Palmer's plot is the one time the Presidential story matched the Bauer thread. I know Kim's story is seen as a weak point and that tends to dominate reviews and such, but Kim is also in the two best scenes of this season: her farewell to her Dad on the plane and when Jack has to tell her to shoot Garry. Season 4 is my other favourite season because every episode is perfect, there are no weak moments, but Season 2 is much more thematically focused so I think you're right, Day 2 is the best!
Cheers. Final Cut X comes with a reasonable library of ambient sound effects, so I use those. For weapons and more obscure stuff, RUclips is pretty good, a search for whatever you want with “sound effect” after it tends to give you some options. The show itself, 24, is often pretty good for effects too, you just need to find scenes where the music is soft, then you can edit the sounds into the bits you want.
@@Vogel99-e1o Yes. A lot of the “thud” effects used when the split screens appear are from the show, and so are many of the “dragging” sounds used when the split screens are shrinking or expanding.
