Kind of odd that over half the game isn't even based on the movie but whatever. -

The character sprites are pretty good and don't look as overmuscled as the SNES versions. The girls actually look like girls and not just palette swaps of the male characters. It's a great job here.
Marc Quill that game is still way better tho
When they’re wearing their power suits, that is. Before morphing time, they look just fine.
Kimberly has that girly skirt not like snes color swamo
@@adrenalinex4That's very debatable.
This game is still friggin awesome. Busted it out the other day fully expecting the nostalgia to wear thin after a few minutes, but I ended up playing it all the way to the end. Still remembered all the little tricks and hidden paths.
And the music, my days the music. Every main theme from the show was lovingly recreated. Fight, We Need a Hero, White Tiger Power etc
One of the great games for the Mega Drive just awesome love everything as a kid and the music just gets u all worked up takes u back to full Nostalgia blast processing power
Yeah the music on this game is great
17:37 In memory of Jason David Frank (1973-2022)
REST IN PEACE
You didn't often see the Power Rangers use their weapons in the show. They were usually punching and kicking. And now, we see Zac/the Black Ranger busting out the heavy artillery here!
+Centipede You play as Adam too.
Back then when my friends and I played this game we would never pick Rocky,Adam, or Aisha. We liked Zack, Trini and Jason more.
I played this game a lot when I was a proud child of the 1990s.
I feel you man only a 90s kid can appreciate this now I am gonna be 33 in April lol
The power rangers was one of the best things on tv back in the 90s, it was almost like a realistic take on super heroes
@@supertorin4532 I wouldn't put Power Rangers as realistic.
Me neither, but is was just an exaggeration
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY played this as a 90's/Generation Z kid along with his older brother after coming home from school and did his homework!
this soundchip is really amazing
On real hardware it is. But in this video the emulator is totally butchering the sound. Emulators suck.
you have 22hz or 44hz option. so i'm sure if you tweak those you will get original sound
Here, they really How to use the Genesis soundchip.
@@rootykazooty351 not all emulators suck
Wow... Ron Wasserman's music from the show is in this game......
This alone is what makes it the best Power Rangers game in the 90's.
I grew up on the genesis version. I've always loved how it follows the 1995 movie while taking you through some of the episodes from season 2. Specifically the "The Power Transfer" miniseries being my favorite level. I also love how it includes Ron Wasserman's musical scores from the show.
Yea it looks like a great game
Never been a fan on power rangers, but this is a good game :)
I finally dug this game out of the basement...it's really dusty, and hey? I'm going to pop it in and play it...sadly the rest of my "Adult" friends think I'm a kid trapped in an Adult body, but what's wrong with being a kid again playing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? :)
Nothing's wrong. That proves you are who you are: A Power Rangers Fan.
I loved playing this game, You're never too old to play. This is the greatest game ever, I am also a power ranger weeb and I love it.
U never too old for games
The best Power Rangers game of all time and it never has been topped.
I never played this one before .. i have the other power rangers game .. that one is also fun but is more of a versus game
I really liked the detail in the end of the Forbidden Planet stage, of having Serpentera in the background...really added depth to the entire thing, as simple as it was. Also final game boss Ivan is what we should have gotten in the movie.
Yea i agree 😃👍🏿🔥
This game brings back memories. I still got this game on my Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear.
17:56 Perfect!!!!! Excellent choice for the story!!!!!
It's fun seeing Kimberly throw around Goldar. The only closest thing like this is in the Season 2 episode where she impersonates Rita to iritate him.
THIS MUSIC IS PHENOMENAL
MORE like "MORPHINENOMINAL"!
R.I.P. James David Frank (Green Ranger)
You mean jason
The music and sounds are so freaking dynamic
The music at first stage.... is it "Fight" from the Power Rangers TV series?!
SonicTheHedgehog17 It is!!!! I love THAT song.
This game was awesome. I played this thing forever
The music is sick! lol!
MuayThaiMmaXboxGeek teu cuuuu
Word that's why i loved it
MuayThaiMmaXboxGeek 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Yup, a faithful adaptation of the TV soundtrack. This actually put most of the other Power Rangers games to shame.
Ahh the memories of me and my little brother playing this game...it was so much fun back then because we were hardcore power ranger fans.
It mixes the show canon and the non-canon first movie. Weird.
When they run it’s reminiscent of running back for your bike in Road Rash...
Lol 😂
once again genesis does what nintendont
While that is a funny saying, if you don't keep your eyes open you might miss out on a game that was better on the other console and vice versa.
This actually does seem like a much better game than its Nintendo counterpart. Except for the music. The SNES soundtrack puts this to utter shame.
WTF? At least this game used the music from the TV series.
lmao, funny thing, it was better on the snes
Also the sound quality... omg... so rubbish
the SNES OST had better quality and better compositions
The only good point on the genesis was the fighting mechanics and the fact that u could run
They had to after the first MMPR game was garbage on the Genesis compared to the SNES version.
Ha, nice touch of adding Bulk & Skull's theme music as well :D
Nonamearisto The game was released the same month as the movie (June 1995), so they went about it that way to avoid spoiling said movie.
bad move. then it ain't much of a power rangers movie game does it.... sigh
At least it was a faithful Power Rangers game adaptation.
I consider this as one of the most easiest Power Rangers beat em up games on the Genesis. Even on hard mode, it wasn't tough to beat.
Still was fun
Yup. Fun factor >>>>>> Challenge for me.
I loved this game and it had plenty to do with power rangers
33:12
Goldar: You may have won the battle Power Rangers, but next time I will have my triumph!!!!!!!!!! 😠😠😠
Torey White in the tv show I love and i got goosebumps when Lord Zedd gave Goldar his wings back and i was like "Oh shit, power rangers in serious trouble now" Lol
Man, this game brought back memories.
Now this version of The Movie is way better than the SNES version because it follows the plot of the movie (for the most part).
And the actual TV show, in a beat-em-up setting instead of being a generic side-scroller or Street Fighter clone.
26:47 knowing exactly where lord zed (or whatever his name was,) was hiding.
And the first time I saw him I shat brix. I thought the game broke or something.
I had thought this game was a dream until I found out it was just really really underrated.
during the scenes with Adam speaking I kept hearing how he sounds now as Ichigo in my head.
This and the SNES one were good. I liked how this one had the megazord battles and such.
I never knew this game had a Japanese development team. It's interesting that they worked on a Power Rangers game instead of a Super Sentai game :)
All the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers games for the Mega Drive and the Game Gear were Japanese developments, mostly by SIMS (although the first MMPR game for the Mega Drive was developed by a company called Nova and it evidences the difference). I believe it's also the situation with the SNES and Game Boy games, at all the SNES games seem to have been developed by Natsume (including the Power Rangers Zeo racing game). Regarding the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series at least, I think only the Mega CD version is a western development. Later incarnations of the Power Rangers for subsequent platforms tended to be tasked to western developers instead and so the gap of quality fell down because of that.
The Megazord was doing Ryu's Tatsumaki Senpūkyaku from Street fighter!
Aí, a versão do Super ficou aquela coisa totalmente diferente. E outra, trocaram o combo dos personagens e tudo mais por aquela mudança de plano estilo shinobi.
O jooj de super ficou feito nas coxas, mas ainda é bom pra caralho. O Mega então nem se fala.
"hardware melhor"
Na Verdade Mega Drive Tem Um Hardware Melhor.
Aqui Está:
SNES:Melhores Cores E Som Melhor
MD:Melhor CPU,etc.
A versão do Mega é boa mesmo.
O mega drive e tipo o ps1 e o pilar dos games depois deles só decaiu.
I copletely agree with you, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are the best among all power rangers series
This game blew me away at the time.... Amazing game indeed!
Way better than the snes version.
Lol yea it looks really fun
i had this game. it was pretty easy, but fun!!
Damm trhe sound ship here nail! So good.
Sound ship??
@@SuperKillersz yes yamaha fm
🎶FIGHT!!! FIGHT!!! FIGHT!!!!!!!🎶
This looks way better than the SNES version, I would have played the shit out of this as a kid!
"You ooze, you lose!"
-Billy/Blue Ranger
Oh man the nostalgia of this game! 90's kid here! Born in 1990!
I love that it’s the real helmets of each and every one of them unlike the snes version. The five of them are all red rangers but just changed their colors
My favourite part of this game is how it skips 95% of the plot of the movie in order to take us on a Season 2 flashback trip, and give us all 9 original cast members in one game.
AlphaBlast The SNES VERSION was wack as HELL. Collecting lightning bolts to morph was retarded and tedious, the putties were weak and frail and you couldn't pilot any of the Zords. What's a POWER RANGERS game without piloting ZORDS?? That's just WACK!!
Let's not forget the SNES game as a whole didn't feel like a Power Rangers game at all. MMPR The Movie for Genesis was the most faithful for the franchise back in the 1990s. Gotta give the Genesis devs props for making the game actually fucking fun.
GabeShadow666
That was SIMS Co., Ltd. They were the ones who developed this game for the Genesis.
Omg I was re-living my childhood game I actually thought I was playing it again omg I love dis
When my brother and I played this game together, we'd always argue who would play which ranger and which megazord. Sweet memories...
The Super Nintendo version of power rangers the movie hardly had anything to do with the show and movie
+John Lomuscio (Jowill) True--this one also had music from the tv show!!! But I REALLY liked the music in the SNES version. Especially the Hangar one and the Energy Lab one!!
+John Lomuscio (Jowill) but this game also has hardly had anything to do with movie :D
tantrumania This is true. They literally summarize the movie after the first stage and then flashback to how Rocky, Aisha, and Adam joined.
Darkstar Darin the snes version should not even be named after the movie it's an insult
Darkstar Darin At least this game bothered to remember the plot and gave context to fighting Zedd enemies.
What I liked about this one was it was far better than it's predecessor and combined elements from the movie and television show👍🏾❤👊🏾
Power Rangers: Space Destiny
Year: 2023
Hasbro
Cast:
Sora - Red Galaxy Ranger, Flames Lion
Riku - Blue Galaxy Ranger, Oceaner Shark
Kairi - Pink Galaxy Ranger, Skyer Pheonix
Aqua - Black Galaxy Ranger, Snake Geragus
Terra - Yellow Galaxy Ranger, Buffalo Ram
Roxas - Green Galaxy Ranger, Golden Dragon
Galaxyzord (Lion, Shark, Pheonix, Snake, Buffalo)
Dragon Galaxyzord (Golden Dragon)
Maximum Galaxyzord (Lion, Shark, Pheonix, Snake, Buffalo, Dragon)
That enemies getting tall is very scary and the music.
I love how they skip levels concerning the majority of the film's plot to instead focus on flashback levels.
I'd say that was for the better. The "We don't have powers" segment just sucked. Making a game adaptation out of this would probably have resulted in a lot of game recalls.
Probably because they had to do totally new character sprites, animations and movesets for those parts and they weren't really worth it.
It's way better than the SNES version is because it completely follows the movie itself perfectly and it mixes both mighty morphin power rangers seasons 2 and 3 + with the movie and it turns it into a great game based on a great 1995 movie😀👍🏼🎮
I still think that this is the best Power Rangers game released. Yeah, not saying much with their games, but it was still really good.
This beat'em up is not bad, but it does have two very, very major flaws: 1) Characters fighting style is way too similar between each ranger 2) There is simply not enough enemy variety. Budget issues at their best...
Wow, I wasn't aware until now that this game existed, it's pretty cool (although incredibly repetitive). The first SNES game and this one actually make the Power Rangers seem like the best concept ever made. :)
I don't think the show was that awful (it was a kids show afterall) but it was just so cheesy and corny that I couldn't help but feel embarrased if someone walked on by while I was watching it, so I had to quickly change the channel and act like if I was searching for another program. :D
LaVey Charkus Veros the American versions were kids show.If you watched the Japanese version you would have a chnsge of mind
It's amazing how the Power Rangers games actually made them seem cool hahah.
Good example of use of Mega Drive soundchip here.
Lol 😂😂
The Ninja Megazord's head icon looks just like the one in MMPR:TFE!
12:58 I think putting the game level at "Hard" is a bead idea. Not only it gives you less time, it can also deplete your life energy when you're running out of time!
Sega might've had it's weaknesses. But man those Games had quite advanced Graphics for its time
Definitely did ... still have a blast playing them till this day 😃
THIS was The "IT FACTOR" of games :)
One of the best games on the genesis.
I slept on this game as a kid, this is pretty damn good
miss that times...
Fight!!!
Go White Ranger Go!!!
White Ranger Tiger Power!!!
We Need A Hero!!!!
5-4-1!!!!!!
Combat!!!!
Greatest Battle Songs EVER!!!!!!!
I played it today. Its challenging but a satisfying well made beat em up.I LIKE IT even though Goldar get the best of me in the falling fire debris level 5 , which was hard. I enjoyed it still.
It borrows from the best beat em up of all time imo: Streets of Rage.
I don't remember the lord Zedd part was that hidden?
Adam Lennard Yup, he's just sitting there as a hidden boss. It's creepy as hell and you don't get anything but points but I never beat this game without it.
Mech fights were so sick on this game.
Would've been great if the final battle on the comet was done with the full Ninja Falcon Megazord.
Also I still want the Lord Zedd theme as a ringtone.
playing as the falcon zord? omg i missed out!!!
haha tell me about it. games like these were what my saturday nights were all about
Another better MD version than SNES version.
Havent seen that version but i wouldnt be surprised 😂
@@CageVsCage trust me... SNES version is crap with all the rangers being a uniform design... Then there's the fact the SNES version never has anything related to the movie happen
@@Omnishredder lmao 😂😂 i never really seen the snes version much either (other then the gameplay here) but i can see what u mean lol ... i have the sega version which doesnt have much of a story and is mainly just a versus game ... we played it for an episode on our channel .. check it out when you can 😃
17:06 Ladies and gentlemen, the flashback episodes of MMPR: Season 2.
-White Light
-The Ninja Encounter
-The Power Transfer
LOL at 4:23 I half expected ivan ooze to say WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM
Man, I hate stage 5!!!!!!!! However, I passed the level.
Music in this game is great
42:22 *scoff* Good luck with that, bud. Only the "worthy ones with strong courage and a sense of justice" can become the chosen Power Ranger. That is what a great ranger once said.
4:30 damn that's a lot of exposition
+tightlypackedcoil Yeah lol!! The majority of the entire plot happens between Stage 1 and 2!!! LOL!!!!!
+tightlypackedcoil At least the music is good behind it though. :)
They missed out on some awesome gameplay opportunities in that exposition
They probably had to save on assets as much as possible. This short game is packed with detail for the time. It probably saved them alot of money and time to not have the sequence and it makes sense from a gameplay perspective aswell.
This game is better than the snes version. This game is based in the film, and in the tv series. That´s curious, and very good for the kid i was, hehe.
It is.
What bothers me most though are the cutscenes. Is it me or there's no cohesion at all betwen them?
The music that played in the first level was actually the music that often played when the putties attacked here.
what an intro!
What the hell does ''Vertigo TSD'' mean?
Indeed. Kids should have more respect for what the games used to be (they were really cool already), since the present day games evolved from them.
the game is not really about the movie but the show itself anyway O_o because only two levels are for the movie and the others for flashbacks :P lol..
Is it kinda bad that the ending fight cut scene puts the actual movie ending scene to shame ?
11:08 man the game gods were on your side right there
There was already someone in the U.S. that owned the copyright for Megadrive. I think it was a computer parts manufacturer; I'm not completely certain.
Was this played with a trainer? I see "Vertigo TSD" at the top of the screen during gameplay.
Ohhhh I remember playing this and how Sentinel Ring fight in the megazord was soo frustrating for me I couldn't get past that for sooo longg hahah
I feel it was silly to have a flashback that long during a battle XD
This is weird. They are using the original suits from the show when in the movie their suits looks completly different
Game said "fuck that shit" 😂 lol
@Uganda Knuckles: They probably had a harder time rendering the more detailed models of the suits used in the movie given the graphics. There's also the fact that about half of the entire game took place in episodes from season 2, so if they did decide to use the same suits as the one designed for the movie, it would wind up looking a little bit off, I think.
Also Kinda Surprise they never made a power ranger game for the arcades.
