Those Takara reissues are spot-on G1 clones. I have reissues of Jazz, Rodimus Prime, Optimus Prime, Skids, the Predacons gift pack, and I think one more figure. You put these next to their G1 counterparts, and you'd be hard-pressed to see any difference. Also, those Galvatron voices were cool. He sounds like an angry samurai warrior! LOL!
Alumlovescake at least takara still puts quality into their toys, but Hasbro has kind of cheaped out in some lines, particularly the movie and cartoon lines. Now, generations and platinum are fine, but they aren't really enough to save Hasbro's reputation.
Love the review! Really like the purple Galvatron. It's funny how he always says that Rodimus is his archnemesis though in the show and in the comics he goes into battle most with Ultra Magnus XD.
I just got the complete original G1 Galvatron in the mail. Some sticker wear. But what do you expect from a toy that’s over 30 years old. He’s still in great condition. What ever kid had him before took good care of him. I like this re-issue Galvatron. I like the coloration.
When you played that second sound effect...the Transformation clip. I got weak in the knees, I still love that sound. Never had a Galvatron as a kid, but might rectify that as an adult.......nice review!
I have this figure and LOVE it! It actually scales perfectly with Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. I have the 2 standing next to each other on my shelf and they look great in robot mode. Great review on a great figure!

I know to of the voice things. 1 of them is decepticons attack and the other is decepticons transform. I think you should take the matrix and put it on your transformers animated wing blade Optimus to complete his look
I love this version - I passed this up in a comic shop and regret it. The matrix is not the dead matrix - it's the actual matrix on a chain like he had in the 1986 movie when he tried to use it against Unicron... I had the original G1 figure in the 80s and the sound effects were just 3 different laser sounds - this is MUCH cooler!

Galvatron will always be my favorite over Megs just for the fact he had to go to an Insane Asylum planet and beat up his therapist and ripped out of his strait jacket.

When I was little I had a chance to get Galvatron but I got Wrekgar instead.
I also had Galvatron, If only they could have hid the head a lot better on this figure I would have loved it.
