    Praised for her vocal beauty, seamless technique, and abundant musicality, Nadine Sierra is being hailed as one of the most promising, young talents in opera today. She was named the Richard Tucker Award Winner in 2017 and was awarded the 2018 Beverly Sills Artist Award by the Metropolitan Opera. Having made a string of successful debuts at the Met, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, and Staatsoper Berlin, she has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. On August 24th, 2018, her debut album, There’s a Place for Us, was released under the Deutsche Grammophon/Universal Music labels.

    Pues, de todos los títulos, que son los mismos de siempre, me alegra el de Medea, sin ánimo de ofender no creo que la Radvanovsky de la talla, en uno de los roles más complicados de la ópera , en el cual se necesita aparte de una gran técnica vocálica, unas capacidades representativas encomiables. No obstante, espero todo salga bien y tengan una muy buena temporada. Gracias por compartir.

    Hola les saludo desde México, tierra del maríachi, del tequila , del charro, del folklor, de las chinas poblanas con sus atuendos representativos de la mujer Mexicana. Veo y leo con mucha atención los comentarios tan intensos que aquí los conocedores externan, muy interesantes aprendo de estos y me da una visión panorámica de los sucesos que ocurren. El pueblo de México reprueba contundentemente la acción genocida de Rusia. Con envidia de la buena, desearía conocer más y algún día visitar tan bello recinto cultural, gracias por compartir y poder ver opiniones de muchos que al parecer son expertos, los percibo enojados y descontentos, sus razones deben tener. Mi humilde opinión es: que cuando no tienes oportunidad de estar y asistir a tan bello recinto y ver una producción en la que orquestas, cantantes, compañías de teatro etc, exponen su arte uno añora poder ver expresiones artísticas de tan grande nivel. Envío saludos a todos y gracias por permitirme expresarme y mi gratitud a los que lean está líneas. Los mexicanos sufrimos en este momento un gobierno que destruye a México y luchamos porque la cultura siga vigente aquí en nuestro país. Observamos como nuestro gobierno coquetea con Rusia y a la mayoría de mexicanos no nos parece bueno, no estamos de acuerdo. Aquí a la cultura en general se le ha quitado presupuesto y sufrimos acoso del gobierno, hoy día hacer producción cultural sin suficientes recursos económicos es difícil y aún así luchamos por lograr hacer que prevalezca la cultura en general, por ello envidio lo que ustedes tienen allá en cuanto a Cultura y otros aspectos. Les envío un abrazo a todos y atesoren lo que tienen.

      Pues no tomes muy en serio los comentarios snob de algunas personas. Todo cambia y asi sabemos que estamos vivos, algunas personas se portan como muertos en vida rechazando todo cambio. Ojala puedas venir un dia a ver nuestra maravillosa casa de opera, es de gran calidad, y ademas a disfrutar de esta gran manzana.

      It's common to have an image from an old broadcast. See also Der Rosenkavalier, they use images from the 2017 broadcast.

    So mad they cancelled the HD of Don Carlo. Who gives a damn about Netrebko (it would actually be SO much better without her). I so wanted to see Mattei's Posa. And Rachvelishvili as Eboli! Sad.

    Wow, it’s like a list of today’s squally vocal battle axes: Rodvanovski, Netrebko, Yoncheva, Ghoerke. At least there are some bright spots: Leonard, Martinez, Fleming (? thought she retired from the operatic stage), Didonato. THESE are the types of leading ladies who rise to the legacy of the Met.

    I used to love the metropolitan opera. I now NO LONGER DO. Peter Gelb and the shitty productions herein presented is absolutely RUINING the previously marvelous metropolitan opera.

    I wish they wouldn't modernize so often. It borders on political and propaganda as though the static on the radio is contemporary with time. It just isn't so.

    There was a time when the MET would announce their upcoming season and one would become excited while reading the names on the cast. Now my reaction is, "whatever". Perhaps Plácido Domingo will make an appearance. Just kidding. Then again...

      Should have happened years ago, but certainly not for her politics. The woman is a dreadful singer. The only great decision Gelb has ever made, if only by force. Thank Christmas we’ll be spared that squawking tit parade from defiling anymore of the world’s greatest music. Now she can go sing for Putin all day, be his little nightingale. Ba bye.
