Man, that's several times now they've been entirely caught off guard by the glider exploding despite it making a noise and flashing green, and flashing faster and faster as it gets closer to dying.
Sometimes I wish I had an eye tracker so I knew what they're looking at that makes them not notice like 40% of the screen flashing green.
I know their setup makes it so part of the bottom of the screen is obscured from their view, but I can't imagine the entire wing being obscured. That would be 1/3 of the screen.
Honestly that was a very dirty trick Ganondorf did because of how he thought the Master Sword was at when in fact it’s *redacted*
...Oh, wow. So there ARE NPCs flat-out telling you the Lost Woods are impossible and hinting at how you bypass them...which I assume appear only after Mineru tells you to go there.
A part of me now feels pretty stupid for spending, like, an hour trying to figure out these woods, not knowing there was no solution in the first place. But then again, another feels just as proud for eventually finding the actual solution and reaching Korok Forest before the Spirit Temple anyway :V
No I'm pretty sure the dude is there before that. I could be misremembering but I swear I got the sword before mineru, but after seeing the great deku tree
@@mallk238 You probably did. I just had to look this up because I didn't see the NPCs on 1st (and currently 2nd) playthrough and I did take a bit to get there. The trigger is after dealing with the events of "Zelda" at the castle and then talking to Purah/Sages about the Fifth Sage they spawn. Could be possible you got the sword after that and before you found Mineru.
@@tronman64 I definitely got mineru before I did the castle because I remember her being in the castle fight and being amused that she wasn't in the cutscene. But I think you're right because I'm pretty sure that once you finish the castle you have a meeting with purah and they're supposed to task you with two things: get mineru and then get the sword. If you have either of those things then she acts surprised and sends you off to do the other thing. And they told me to go to the forest.
So tldr; I think you are right in that the guy spawns in the woods after you do the zelda castle quest.
I loved everything about Mal using the glider.

At around 17 minutes, I am reminded of the old Daffy Duck cartoon where he says YOIKS AND AWAY and tries to swing from a tree heroically, only to smack into another tree. Then he does it again, and again, and eventually he gets very upset and cuts down all the trees. All of this so he can rob some aristocrat of his coin, and then he misses entirely. But not before smacking his entire body into 75 trees in a row first.

omg- I know right? My thoughts on that saga was less creative- essentially how it was a horrendous test drive and she wasn't getting her license at the end :P
Pro tip. Put a brightbloom on your vehicle (particularly big use out of the giant ones). It has far better range. It even allowed me to map out the remainder of the depths so much quicker (with the right vehicle).
Here's another small football field sized portion of gloom where riding on the robot would actually not be a total waste of time, but once again, we are not doing that, and I am tickled pink.
4:16 I never got that message! I was trying to get inside the forest for _so_ long until I eventually gave up and looked it up online. Does anyone know if you only get this message at _this_ point in the story or something? I believe I got the master sword fairly early on.
I'm looking at the food that was cooked, and....
Glowing stuff, not useful since it looks like they're not going to open up the depths in this playthrough since stephen doesn't like it and they're gearing up to beeline the main quest and be done with the game I think. I see a lot of food designed to make you not cold, which is not useful since they're done with the snow and ice exploration of the game and have cold clothing iirc. Electrical resistance stuff which I've personally never used. Every single one of those got sold or sat alone in my inventory as my one electricity resistance elixir just in case I ever found a use for it, and I never did. Some stamina food, which is okay, but you use like one or two of them if you have 3 stamina wheels for extreme long distance flights or climbs, just not as useful as health recovery.
Health recovery meals- I see a steamed fish, which almost certainly won't recover even a third of their health bar. I see cooked tomatoes and simmered fruits which even if they were min maxed won't recover much health. I see a dubious meal which could be worth a heart, and then another one of those. I see a couple mushroom skewers.
If they ate all the basic health recovery meals at once they might be able to recover one whole time from one quarter heart, maybe. I'd bet half of their ability to recover is tied up in their glowing meals made out of glow fish and glow mushrooms, which destroys any other benefits from other meals.
So I predict this batch of meals will be used up in the next difficult battle they face, along with possibly being forced to scarf down glow meals which destroy their attack up if they remember to eat any attack up stuff before the battle. I think almost none of those elixirs will ever be used at all.
I also see no gloom recovery meals, at all, not a one. So they are super dee duper not ready to face off against big bad man or gloom hands or phantom ganon or trapse through the depths at all.
Stephen does have a point with the Depths having nothing interesting to find. It's too big for how little there is to do down there.
