Probably nearly 20 years myself of playing these games, built so many habits and weapon combos I forget that others play their own game with their own preferences, that being said AR for the infection forms and shotty for the combat forms is a goated combo for the flood.

Having a tough time listening to the lore while the flood attacks you is the point, Guilty Spark is oblivious to the hell he brought Master Chief into. Hes flying around without too much concern while Chief is fighting for his life, in lore this is the toughest mission Chief had to endure he felt like he wouldn't make it.

Some side lore too the Library that it takes a nerd like me too know is, 343 sent another Human into the Library before the master cheif, who was immune too the flood. His body can be found just before the last elevator with map spawn ammo and weapons, since he was immune the flood couldn't "use" his body and left him there.
She had her first reviver in 343 Guilty Spark… i never really pieced together just how many will revive until seeing the coop GDQ run where Nervy used them to clip through the doors 😂
As for your question as to whether the Flood's victims are still aware, yes, yes they are. Part of the Lore is that the Flood purposely keeps the host conscious through chemicals secreted by the "popcorn" infection forms which both makes the Flood have better control of the body AND allows the Flood to access the knowledge of the victim. The more Flood there are the smarter they are, that is why the first few you encountered in 343 just charged at you, but pretty quickly they started using weapons. All the victims of the Flood feel every bone cracking mutation of their limbs, and every bullet wound but can do nothing about it. There is also a side story of how the infection form that got Pvt Jenkins (the guy whose helmet cam you watched in 343 GS) was somehow damaged with time and unable to exert full control over him. This allowed him at a key moment to reassume control for one action that may have been key to allowing the Chief to do what he needs to do. Pvt Jenkins is an unsung hero in the Halo story.
He’s also in halo: contact harvest, a book about the very beginning of the war. And it’s even sadder when you realize he and Johnson stuck together the whole war only for him to have a gruesome death😢
Flood Lore: those flood like walking combatants are elites and humans, those popcorn thingys can do 2 things 1 go inside a corpse and use it for its own purpose (similar to dead coming a live but entirely controlled by parasite), and 2nd they can enter into a living being body and has full control them while grotesquely changing your body. Meaning you will be conscious while feeling the extreme pain, brones breaking, body changing while Flood parasite has control of you and all you can do is watch. Oh and Flood can take the knowledge of those they infected and grow in knowledge. Its why you see them using guns.
Anniversary made the entire game look brighter and missed the whole mystery/horror feel that Classic brings. I always play Classic everything in HALO: CE and i for one love this mission. Exploration, survival, horror, killing-sprees! Yes please!
Top tip, you have an energy suit that regenerates, the popcorns take small nibbles of energy. You can just let them hit you until you need to regenerate. This is especially useful if it is only popcorns around, saves a lot of ammo!
Oh snap, I just remembered something from 2002. My roomies and I would play co-op, and on flood levels you could shoot the arms of the combat forms off so they couldn’t attack you. It’s very time consuming but it’s one of the only ways to manage them on higher difficulties.

The assault rifle is good for the infection forms (popcorn), and the carrier forms (the ones that carry the infection forms and explode). The handgun is a good all-around weapon and it one-shots hunters (heavily armoured guys with green rocket launchers and large metal shields). Plasma weapons are good for shielded targets. Needler is too slow to be useful. Sniper is only good for covenant targets, it doesn't work on the Flood. Shotgun is good at close range. Rocket launcher can be useful against vehicles if you have good aim or they don't move, also best alternative for dealing with hunters if you don't have a handgun handy.

Enjoying your Halo playthrough! Even though gameplay and the story plot are awesome entirely, this level onwards u notice the mission design and level designs are very long and often reused areas. I watched a Halo CE Speedrun with the original devs providing commentary. They say they were A-tunnel visioned bc they spend 100hrs on a single part of the game they forget to back up and look at how it fits with the whole game. The dev who designed the Library apparently got so good at the level and bored he felt gamers would too and kept adding a floor. By the time they realized it was too much it was too late. B-they actually had to cut entire missions because they were so ambitious. Microsoft had told the world it was a launch title for Xbox. For Halo CE, Bungie consisted of less then 50 people in their 20s attempting to change an industry, so I’m happy with what we got.
Don't know if anyone told you this but there is a trick to kill the Carry Flood forms without having them fall and drop more small Flood spores. If you throw a plasma grenade and stick them than at the same time that it sticks you shoot them with a shotgun. This blows them up without them falling and causing more flood spores to come out. Note that this can be a large blast and you do not want to be close when they blow up. It's not that hard to do as you play a lot but since you are new might take a couple times to make it work. Helps a lot when on higher difficulty's but also just fun to watch them blow up. Oh lastly note that this will only work when one is coming at you at a time and will not work on a whole group, only the one you stick will blow up and toss the others aside and well than they release more Flood spores. Hope that's a fun trick to try, I enjoy watching keep entertaining!
To be honest, they must mean the pistol is the best weapon in the game when it comes to multiplayer. In campaign they actually all have their uses! It's one of the most balanced halo campaigns when it comes to weapons
At around the 17 minute mark your comments about using other weapons besides the pistol is fun just because reminds of a game my brother and I, probably lots of other people too, played after we’d beaten this game multiple times on legendary difficulty. We’d try to go back and redo the whole game using just the assault rifle. Then redo the whole game with just the needler, etc.
I don’t think i ever tried that as a kid, I’d just repeat the game on normal every couple months and play multiplayer with friends the rest of the time
ignore 343 guilty spark ... the shotty adn the pistol are the best combo you can go with versus flood . i think people's point about using the best weapon in game is that , you can carry 2 weapons .. one of them should always be a pistol if possible. though even myself find sections where i'll go rocket launcher sniper rifle . but in general it doesn't hurt to always have a pistol as one of your two weapons. "woah what the fuQ!" - every one the first time a rocket flood sends them flying. "i didn't have time to process my death" that's because in halo spartans never die , they just go MIA . so MC is just going MIA for a split second. "i feel likke i'm going around in circles little robot" that's because you kinda are. the library is cylindrical in shape , think of it as a tower with a central elevator(what you're trying to reach at the top) and smaller elevators at each level. every elevator takes you up a level of the structue and then you have to circle around the structure to get to the next elevator this is repeated several times till you get to the level the central elevator is on , so you can get on it and lower down to the index (which is at the bottom level) kinda silly the forerunners built the thing with no way to just call the central elevator down remotely , but oh well it made for one big ass confusing and crazy level.
@@billyg898 you see here is the issue ... every one thinks they need to go blaster master on the pop corn ... you don't . one shot from the pistol and they chain reaction in groups , and you can mop them up with melee hits. and one or two here you can also melee hit. even on legendary the popcorn flood are sucha low threat you'd do better having the shotty and the pistol for the larger flood and not worry about toting a gun for the popcorn guys. so sorry bro you are wrong. PS. and the AR is next to useless on the larger flood. so not worth taking that slot up just for the popcorn guys.
Don't know why this hasn't been done before, but to put a twist on CoD Zombies, swap out the "zombies" for endless waves of Flood (with Halo weapons, of course). Never ending nightmare fuel. 😬☠

I feel like I jumped out of my skin every time you got hit by a rocket. It scares the bejeezus out of me when I'm the one playing, too. 😂
Really like this series, hope you Will play halo 2 aswell
Thank you, I will!
Your best gun to use against the parasites is the assault rifle, and shotgun against the infected.
"He's got a shotgun!"
"Oh no, I stuck him!"
Yep. Now your Floodin'
Everyone hated on this level but honestly I. Ever had an issue with it....its freaking intense.
34:18 well, imagine now playing in this tiny room on legendary 😢😢😅
You can crouch an look at the wall in one of the corners. They won't notice you an the door opens around 3 mins
I'm so mad the rocket Flood at the end of the level never killed her, it's a nasty surprise the first time
Don't know if anyone told you this but there is a trick to kill the Carry Flood forms without having them fall and drop more small Flood spores.
Thank you so much!
"My health is too low"
"Do you have any potions or food?"
Cookies to anyone who knows the reference.
To be honest, they must mean the pistol is the best weapon in the game when it comes to multiplayer. In campaign they actually all have their uses! It's one of the most balanced halo campaigns when it comes to weapons
So funny when you refer to spark as glyph 😂
18:05 your nemesis, a rocket launcher. 28:40
Sorry Lucy I got carried away with my painting lol! Let’s goo!!!
I don’t think i ever tried that as a kid, I’d just repeat the game on normal every couple months and play multiplayer with friends the rest of the time
Oh damn that would be tough!
@@LUCYJROBYN yeah but it’ll give you more content to upload
ignore 343 guilty spark ... the shotty adn the pistol are the best combo you can go with versus flood .
i think people's point about using the best weapon in game is that , you can carry 2 weapons .. one of them should always be a pistol if possible. though even myself find sections where i'll go rocket launcher sniper rifle . but in general it doesn't hurt to always have a pistol as one of your two weapons.
Neither are good against the popcorn. AR for them, and shotgun for the rest, is far more ideal for the Flood.
29:02
THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT!!
343 Guilty Sark and The Library (and basically every flood level) aren't supposed to be bright and lit up. It ruins the whole atmosphere.
Also, don't let the little ones get on you while your shield is down.
Plasma grenade+flood LOL.
Hey, the best you can hope for is surviving - and you got through The Library still being able to laugh 😸
shout out to u Lucy for taking on the rocket flood in the Library but also Two Betrays
Appreciate it!
the popcorn guys can resurrect the big ones. that's why some are getting back up.
This is wrong, that only happens in the later halos, in this game the combat forms just play dead sometimes
@@EnvoyOfFabulousness its been a few years since i played halo 1, so i could be wrong i just remember watching the popcorns bring back some of the dead ones.
18:05 Que your worst nightmare for the rest of this level and the next one.
Also unless you have an assault rifle on you don't bother with the infection forms unless there is a large group of them or if your shields are down.
31:26 "The installation was specifically built to study and contain the Flood. Their survival as a race was dependent upon it. I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce."
Hmmm, what did he mean with this...
Its funny, on legendary you get so used to having just 1 health block left for most of the game hehe
Tip: The shotgun has 12 rounds. That's all I'm gonna say since you're having a blast 😂
Certain guns or gun combinations are useful on certain enemies. You kind of get a hint when game provides
32:52 glyph lmaooooo I can see the resemblance
Never go through the library without a shotgun
Oh by the way the Flood are programmed to run at you when you stick them. Best to keep a good distance 😅
Maybe you've heard in other videos but I have to say I love your accent
Thanks!
the ammo wasting is next level haha
good job, keep working on your foot work! :]
I've noticed many players feel the need to kill every enemy before triggering the final cutscene. Am I the only one who just booked it to the end when the last door opened?
Halo Franchise and Destiny 1 is pure Love ❤
I have never tried Destiny!
@@LUCYJROBYN but you should be! Only the first Game i loved so much it was a powerful and magical ride the best Scifi Experience i ever have in my Life. And sry for my english im from Germany 😅
@lucyjrobyn The three Bungie shooters, Marathon (1990s), Halo (2000s) and Destiny (2010s) are very related in gameplay and science-fiction vibes. Generally, if you like one, you'll like the other two. But the way Halo immerses you in its world is leagues above Marathon and Destiny. Halo is Bungie's lightning in a bottle! It's definitely the "peak".
They don't respawn infinitely.
Only 3 times each spawner.
24:24 Like I said sometimes they get up again after you put them down the first time.
