No problem, hope you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! I have a personal goal to attempt every remake or romhack for Friday the 13th that I can find. As soon as I saw this one I knew I had to play it, it just took longer than I thought it would to track it down.
Really awesome to see a rework of this. I remember playing it as a child and giving up. Trying again prior to sending my carts to video game exchange and saying "nope, still sucks". Listening to AVGN and watching the speed runners destroy it. All this time, the programmers had a great idea. They were limited by the hardware and programming of the time. Could have been one of the greats.
It's a great remake, that's for sure. It plays quite a bit differently, but if you're used to the original version it's not too bad to make the adjustment. The speedrun for Friday the 13th is actually one of the reason I do the challenges and romhacks now. I know I can't improve my time in the speedrun but I still enjoy the game a lot, and those things help keep it fresh. I completely agree about the ideas and the limitations. There's a screenshot of some early box art that even showed what looked like an archery range on the bottom left of the map, kind of over by the cave. It would have been awesome to see what ideas they had for that section before it was cut out.
Wow. This is such a bizarre but really cool Romhack. I love the changes they made and it has a freaky ambiance that’s very suspenseful for an NES-inspired game. Good job on the playthrough and great content!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! They did so many great things with the jumpscares and the atmosphere, it's alot more tense than the vanilla game, and that had a lot of tension itself.
I agree completely! I prefer to play on original hardware if at all possible. I have a USB SNES controller that I used because you need 4 buttons, but even that feels wrong. If I’m playing something that looks like it was on NES, I want to use my Dogbone controller!
This is amazing. If anyone does a reboot or romhack I hope it's for a Monster Party 2. That would be epic!
They guy that made this has redone several other NES games in a similar style, so it's a definite possibility!
Interesting version! Good game
Thanks! It looks a lot like the original, but it plays nothing like it. Still takes me time to get used to how much slower you move.
Thanks for playing and uploading this. It's great to see the game in a more extended setting.

So glad I found your channel! Great video; relaxing to watch .. despite the Jason jumpscares haha
Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying it! We have a lot of fun with the jump scares, I’m looking forward to when one really gets me!
Too bad this doesnt work on real hardware. The romhack Friday the 13th GOLD is probably the best version of the romhacks.
