I'm so glad my mother homeschooled me. I was so lost, so far away from the Lord. I'm 16 now, and I'm so glad God guided me on the straight and narrow path. My Mother was 30 when she properly found Jesus, and I'm so GRATEFUL the Father has caught me at such a young age 🥺

I am a second generation homeschooler. It was such a gift to not only be taught and shown the ways of the Lord within our home, but the gift of the time we got with each other as siblings was something I will forever hold dear to my heart. We were all given the gift of being together and learning together, and it’s a gift that I am giving to my little ones as well. Such a wonderful journey! ❤❤

How much of this so-called socializing do kids in school really get ? You sit behind a desk for hours most of the time in silence, you walk to a class in between, maybe in P.e. and lunch you talk to people. And even those people you get to socialize with during that time, they might not be your best people around. I'm just saying ...

I just wanted to write a little comment as an encouragement. I feel like Milena has a lot of wisdom to share but she's often getting interrupted and then it starts to feel a little disjointed like she isn't able to finish her thought and share from her heart with us. Finding a smoother way to transition between both of your your talking points would be much better from a listener perspective.

I love love loved this episode so much! I was that snarky intellectually dishonest atheist for the majority of my life and made it my personality to go on about how God doesn’t exist. And obviously I did a 180 thanks to God’s love and grace. While I became an atheist due to my home country’s communist upbringing, I know so many Christians, my husband included who were raised with the right kind of intentions but not enough heart about the Bible. So when they left for college, they embraced the indoctrination of atheism. Thankfully he found God again, but I know so many who haven’t. The systems of the world view God as very dangerous to their own agendas and have it to a T to disprove his existence and brainwash children out of the truth. Which is why we need to not be casual/ only cultural about our faith like so many families have been in the 90s and early 2000. You guys are doing a great job!

We are praying over schooling our children currently. We live overseas due to my husband being in military. My heart breaks for the education system in America… I am praying that I am good enough to teach my own children. I feel so inadequate because I’m somewhat new to faith. I wish I was raised in the church more so I could teach them so much more, but I know my testimony is meant to glorify God. I am learning so much over the past few years. I would love a wonderful homeschool community or even a private school when we move back. There is a GREAT homeschooling community on our base here and I just feel so nervous to go back to America. Please pray for me & my husband as we navigate educating our children!

It was such a blessing this year, and she and I have bonded so much! I highly recommend it. If you do it with the right intentions there is a guarantee of bonding with your child and watching their minds grow and learn by your side (they are blessings from God).

God invented the family to teach socialization. Family ideally is a safe place to learn to love, to share, to communicate, to fail etc You should be included, accepted, believed in, corrected and never be an outcast in spite of your weaknesses and immaturity. My parents divorced when I was 3. My brother and I didn't get along. My mom worked and wasn't home to help us negotiate. Because of these things, I have struggled to communicate and negotiate with my husband and children. I didn't have a healthy intact family, multiple siblings, or a marriage modeled in front of me. Children hating you for every reason and no reason at public school was and is a terrible way to learn to socialize. It's all pecking order, popularity, and rejection. Unless you're 1 of the 3 popular people in class.

I have looked into homeschooling for my kids for since 2020, once I came back to church and started teaching my children i wanted to do homeschooling even more. But in the state I live in, they make it extremely hard for anyone who looks or wants to homeschool. The school my daughter is in is charter but I’ve made it a point to put on the app you guys made, and in the morning on the ride home she reads part of the Bible. And when she has questions like creation etc, I take it to the Bible and I let her know the enemy all he tries is to confuse and distort God truth. At 8 I tell her to pray for discernment due to going to school, so that when something isn’t true or right the Holy Spirit will let her know

Our family is doing the same thing. This year was my first year homeschooling we did (classical conversations) are it was not intimidating or challenging as i excepted it to be my child was 4 now 5 and he is doing amazing. I felt so judged by family and friends by deciding not to participate in Halloween or Christmas and even when we decided to homeschool everyone was like why. Im so at peace with direction God is leading our family and bringing new community to us because YES its so keyy!!!

*I also believe scientisism is a religion.* The etymology of the word _science_ is _know_ or _knowledge._ People worship and give their every thought and lifestyle to what they "know" and or what "experts" know. They put this knowledge above the Creator or all things.

Maybe because we’re training the next generations to step in and do so since they’ll be more equipped than we were ever raised to.
We weren’t raised in todays world, we’re unlearning so many of the worldly ways because that’s what happened. so we teach our kids from the mistakes the last generations implemented on us. And our children will make that change with God as their armor 🕊🤍

Retreating is also a noble and good battle strategy. When the enemy has the upper hand and is taking out your side millions at a time, it is not prudent to keep your remaining people on a lossing battle field. Retreating can give time for rejuvenation, strategy, and rebuilding forces at homebase to regain strength, conviction, and train better not just for battle but the whole war.

We do have different laws around the world regarding attending of school. The bible tells us to listen to the authority of the state. In Germany you have to go to school around 6 years old. School is usually from morning to midday so not the whole day. Before school you can attend kindergarten but you don’t have to send your kids there.
So options vary also where you live in the world.

I've been a believer for as long as i can remember, but I am still working on my first read through the bible. Well a homeschool perk is to focus much more time on child’s interest. Electives, job study, volunteering. If they really know their career path and it happened to require a college degree they should go get that degree . I personally am highly supportive of trades . Hard to find , excellent money, opportunity for entrepreneurship, flexible hours…

    • @tarynthompson4141
      @tarynthompson4141 6 месяцев назад

I would encourage them as long as they wanted a degree that they would put to use. Such as Doctors or nurses, lawyers ect. Otherwise I'd encourage them to go to trade school. But there's some degrees I'd be worried about them going to college for years, getting into huge debt, and it being in something that won't support them or pay the bills. I don't think its wrong to send kids to public school, but we as Christians definitely need to make sure we are prepared to answer tough questions and pour deeply into their lives when they are at home with the Word of God and his truth.

I would be interested to hear your take on the age of the Earth. I recently heard some talks from Frank Turek (a well known apologist) and he has some interesting takes on the earth’s creation and timeline. From what I understand, he said he believes in the ‘big bang’ but that it was God who “banged it”… lol, his words. So he seems to follow what science says, but gives credit to God. Since Genesis starts with ‘in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth’ it leaves room for one to decide how long those were existing before the rest of the 6 day creation. I personally lean towards more of a ‘flat biblical Earth’ of younger age view. But I’d love to hear your thoughts on all of that!

If your health and pregnancy/breastfeeding status allow, fast and pray. Be reading things like Charlotte Mason to prepare in the event he comes around. Social media, transgenderism, smart phones have changed the landscape of public school. Do those issues concern him? Do you have any friends that he respects that homeschool. Anyway, pray more than push. Make your private time with the Lord your #1 priority. You can't give what you haven't got. It's the ultimate "self care" to help you cope.

I'm on the same page with you. Except, when I decided to homeschool our kids I didn't care what my husband's opinion was about it. I just did it. I knew what the Lord was calling me to do as their Mama. I know going against what he wants isn't right, but I already saw where public school was going at the time. And it's only gotten worse. My husband thinks homeschool equals laziness, being antisocial, and non educated. And it doesn't help that his entire family talks horribly about me for homeschooling.

As someone who is maybe a little naive to how an agenda is pusched onto our children - what agenda do you mean?

Jordan, you mentioned kids asking questions about the world or faith or whatever to their Bible teacher and not getting an answer but wouldn’t that happen eventually? Isn’t that how you learn to back up and strengthen your faith?
Idk I just feel like you guys live in a bubble sometimes and that’s fine for you and maybe that’s the ‘goal’ but that isn’t plausible for so many.

Hi Milena, I've been a subscriber for years. I wanted to give you both kuddos for this informative podcast. I really get a lot out of it. So thank you. Just wanted to let you know that at 9:09 time mark you started using a hand gesture that symbolizes something bad. This hand symbol is not of the Lord. I say it respectfully and as a sister in Christ. Iron sharpens iron.

As somebody who is studying to be a teacher, this is so sad, professors don't have time to worry about what their students believe in. Yes, there are issues with public schools but there are also so many issues with what was said here, I would push you both to step outside of the bubble you currently live in cause you just sound naive, especially with the science part. No hate

You guys always act like you are mightier than all. You don’t even have any kids that are of actual “homeschool” age. Please save this for others that have actual experience. What a joke.
