Probably the most important seminar I’ve heard over the past 5 years.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
If you can't afford the plugs, learn how to make bucktails. Buy a used mold and lead pot off Ebay. Buy good jig hooks, and in the dead of winter, pour jigs, a couple hundred of them, from 3/4 to 3oz. Do a lifetime supply. Then sell the mold and the lead pot for what you paid for them. Then learn how to tie on the deer hair. The final product will be very inexpensive per jig, so you won't mind if you lose one on a rock.
And it’s fun to catch fish on your own home made lures.
Fantastic talk. Ron is an encyclopedia of practical fishing knowledge. I had the pleasure of meeting him in RI recently and he’s even more helpful in person. Thanks Ron!
I agree he’s totally informative

Excellent info, thank you. Also good recommendation on the Fish's Eye book, ordered one already.
How is the book?
@@FishingLongIsland I haven't started it yet, I had started "On the Run" by David DiBenedetto and want to finish that first. So many fishing books, so little time.
Thanks, I was there but couldn’t hear him, much appreciated.
Anytime. I raised his voice in the video. Hope you liked it. I have more on my RUclips page. It’s all fishing
Wow... thank you great video the most educational video about strip bass i have seen... where can i buy his stuff .. i like the plug the black, green . The one he was talking about in tue video 30:06
I believe all his information is in the video
Do you have a website we can visit and order from thanks loved your latest video.
I do not, but what are you looking to order?
if you fish with clips like TA is the split ring on a lead head redundant?
No not at all.
you do not get as many hookups with singles anywhere on the plug. it's basic math and geometry. on erratic plugs like pencils, where the fish will be hitting a moving target with a shifting axis, you might not hook up at all with your single hooks. that's the only time i run 2 trebles anymore, on a pencil popper. otherwise it's crushed treble up front and a crushed single in the rear. you will rarely bury a rear single deep into the gills or throat cavity. if you do single hook a fish in the gills, [or anywhere for that matter] it's easy to remove in the dark and in the waves without rehooking the fish on the way out of the throat. the other major benefit of the rear single hook is this, and this is something i picked up from international guys who have to horse in bigger fish than we do: rear trebles foul and singles don't. they can create a second point of contact for the fish, and if that is high on its head or shoulders or body it's now wearing your plug like a harness. think about it. when was the last time you fouled a fish with a rear single? when you hook a fish with a single it's almost always cleanly, on the side of the mouth or in the lip, and they will not foul. you have less of a chance of making your 15 lbs fish feel like a 40 lb fish because you've hooked him on the head and he's pulling your drag like a dog sled team. this becomes even more of an issue with bluefish who get fouled constantly. utlimately we need to say that we ahve been there and done that if we're guys who are capable of catching dozens of hundreds or thousands of fish in a season, reduce the catch and release mortality which we all contribute to inevitably, and run a rear single.
Thank you Peter, there is a lot of valuable information in what you wrote. I truly appreciate it. Thank you.
Why fling a Yokuzuri or a Hakimori when Bob the Garbageman can soak a chunk for 20 hours and nail them big hogs.
Our grandfathers didn't fight in double u double u 2 so you can throw a yozoori all day and catch nothing
lol. Bob is great. Love his videos
Lol
@@FishingLongIsland he sets his drag by tightening the knob with pliers all the way, "you dont even need the bunka.. Its the anise. The chunkbis just a vessel to deliver the anise" -bob
