I love the leg kick sneeze. My Welsh Terrier becomes psychotic when our family sneezes. We've had to become creative with our sneezing techniques 🤣

That's hilarious !!!! My last dog - an Aussie Poo would attack the cat every time I sneezed. It would be a scramble of dog and cat every single time..... Now I sneeze - and my new dog doesn't flinch and the cat - looks at me knowingly with the Thank God expression....

Oh no your poor cat! We were just on a vacation without the dog and we're so used to disguising our sneezing, that we unknowingly continued on vacation. Gotta love our furry friends. ❤

Erin, I enjoyed this video immensely! You are so-down-to-earth and honest, showing both your successes, as well as the not so wonderful gardening misfortunes. Gardening is an adventure that lasts a lifetime for those of us who are passionate about it. There are always things we wish we had done differently, and Mother Nature's mood swings are beyond our control. Your stock tank water garden is a fun addition to your vegetable garden. I love it! Now I need to get my rear in gear and go plant tulips and daffodils! ~Margie

Urban cucumber! 😆 Seriously, your gardening "fails" are still inspiring because it goes to show us that it can happen to all of us. Life happens. As long as we make the best of it and keep on gardening, it's all good. 💚🌿 I absolutely LOVE your stock tank pond, btw. 🥰

So much I can relate to here! Thanks, Erin, for sharing the real life of your garden. Your garden is so beautiful and you are an inspiration. I sometimes get weary watching others “plant some seeds and look, perfect results!” because it so often doesn’t work that way for me. This is closer to what I experience in my own garden, so I feel like a more resilient gardener when I am reminded that everyone has successes and challenges. It is beautiful and rewarding even when it’s a little neglected or didn’t come together as we’d hoped. Love your content, thanks for continuing to share with us!

I actually gave up my vegetable garden a few years ago, everything ripened at the hottest time of the year, all at the same time, with bugs and rabbits and we just don’t have enough time.......I like vegetable gardens, but now only grow one tomato plant which is more tomatoes than we can eat. To be honest my gardening love is in my flower beds 🌸🌸🌸. Love your videos!!! Even the vegetable garden! 🥰😌😉

Erin, I love how you garden. It's like I would if I had the space and lived in a place with trees and a bit more rain.
I started watching your channel about a year ago. It wasn't your garden that caught my attention, at first, though I love it! It was your accent. My dearest and best friend sounded a lot like you do. We lost her to a stroke almost 4 years ago. She was here in Texas with me 4 years ago today! It was so important for her to get here. See, she was born and raised in Upstate New York in a small town called Phelps. It's just south of Rochester. She got transplanted to Texas because she wanted to go to college some place that had a good music program and was completely different from where she had been living. Well, she found it! I'm in the Texas Panhandle and it's nothing like your beautiful tree filled, crick running, lakes and, well, we're not the same at all! She always kept her accent which she argued, in fun, that we had the accent down here, she didn't have an accent! Haha!!! Anyway, she and her family moved back to NY in the mid to late 90s. I didn't know what I was gonna do without her?! Our lives were very entwined from working a small business together and I helped her home school her daughter and and and.... We could go shop at Wal-Mart and have a blast doing, together. Well, I survived the move because We could still talk on the phone and I was truly happy that she was back home. We made a trip up there in 2008 and spent a week with her. It was perfect and we had such a great time together! Then, after her being here 4 years ago, in early December, she had a stroke and died within hours of it! I was devastated, again by her loss on this earth! I had figured out how to deal with her being up there, but, Heaven is even further away than Upstate NY and even though I know that she's alive and feeling better than best and with our Lord Jesus Christ, I've been pretty changed by her not being here. Erin, your voice and attitude are similar to Anne's and it brings me joy and peace to hear you and see what you're doing in your garden. Anne loved to garden and she she had flowers and veggies and horses, dogs, cats and other critters, too. It warms my heart and brings me joy to see the new postings.
Thank you for being you and sharing you and being real!
Blessings to you from a dry, windy and thirsty land! ❤🙂

I learned that I can't tackle too many areas at one time, I neglected the veggies and they reflected that but I also learned a lot. I'm going to scale back my veggie plans for next year because I will still be working on new gardens and infrastructure. I need to limit variety and focus on what we really eat a lot of. Rabbits? Try beaver... Last year they sawed off a beautiful oak. Wrapping the birch and weeping willow this year with hardware cloth as I guess they are a favorite. I could have cried! Then they didn't even take the damn thing! Love the realness of your gardening. I put rubber snakes by my shrubs as I heard bunnys hate snakes. Even a hunk of covered wire bent can work! Gardening can be a crapshoot but so rewarding if it works! You have so much energy! I could watch you all day. Appreciate the time you take to video for us. Greetings from northwestern Wisconsin. Your garden is wonderful Erin. It's always fun and interesting to see someone else's garden and it's funny how others see past all the crummy stuff we dislike about it isn't it?
Slugs were my #1 nemesis here too. Everyone seemed to be having issues with them. I vote they get pest of 2020!
Your pumpkin was what I experienced with one of my cucumbers this year. It was planted later than my regular cukes and then too it's sweet time and I managed to fett one cucumber off of it just barely and the smoke we had here in Portland took the plants down. Oh well...there's always next year.
Love the Envy Zinnias and sweet peas. That green Love Lies Bleeding is fabulous. Green flowers add so much interest to cut arangements. Youb are right about needing the right color of flowers to use hot biscuits. I was thinking how something the color of or maybe even pumpkins themselves would look work with it. Then the creamy colors...oh gosh, I'm going to think about that one. I bet some perennials out there have leaves and flowers that would work very well as they tend to come in tones more suitable to use with that color.
There is also dying the blooms...tint them with floral spray dye. Love a Good color challenge.
The Belgian fence is looking so good.
That water tank...let the haters hate, what a wonderful idea and having water in the garden like that is really good for pollinators to drink on those hot days too. Beautiful water lily.

I love your veg garden. I also will grow veg this year again in raised beds. The little pont is great and it is good for bees and co. You need to try potatos again. Could be yours did not have enougth water or you did have to much plantfood in the ground. Than they make lots of growth on top but not much potatos. And try different kinds. I am doing at least 10 different ones this year. In the beds and in bags. I really like blue and red potatos. Beans and potatos grow good together. Runter bean " Princess Diana ' is a great one. And a tip for the 🐌 . I use sheepwool. I lay it on the ground just behind the rim. Slugs hate to go over sheepwool and it is a great longtime plantfood and stores water. You can get Sheepwool and sheepwoolpellets online. Or you can put a coperstrip around the top of the beds. They hate to go on metal. It is like burning them. Good luck with your veg this year. I will grow lots of new veg this year and lots of old goodies. 🙂

Oil cure your cherry tomatoes & plum tomatoes. Roast in oven. Cool pack them tight in jars. Add herbs of choice and garlic. Fill entire jar with olive oil. Use a knife around sides to make sure you don't have any air pockets. Oil must complete cover the tomatoes. Put the lid on. Store in the refrigerator. Use all winter long. Make sure they're always covered with the oil so they don't spoil.

How the heck can rabbits get up into your raised beds?!
I'm going to hire someone to install skirting around my low deck and put hardware cloth behind it to keep critters out of there. My neighbor has seen bunnies, cats and I recently saw a mouse scurry under there in the daytime.
I grew that same tower basil, in a large container with parsley and rosemary. I should have cut it way back because it's living up to its name. I love the smell when I brush up against it. It even perfumes the air when I water my garden and the spray hits the foliage.

IDK how much you spent at petco, but you can get whole pannels (16ft for $50) at your local farm supply store and cut them down as needed. Hog panels will have larger grid, but goat/horse panel looks like that, just larger :) Not sure if you need that much, but figured I'd mention it just in case!

You may say you don’t know water gardening but a couple tips I got from you last year are the black pond dye and the solar fountain. The dye was a game changer for hiding the mechanics and the fountain just made me smile. However the deer ate the leaves of the water lily so the are small. I have overwintered hardy water lilies successfully numerous times by putting them in a garbage bag in my basement crawl space.

So interesting to see a cloud garden in it's growing stages. Did you do an update on the hornbeams? I'm interested to see how/if you limbed them up.

WOW the Belgian fence is so cool! I have got to find a place in my yard for one! Can someone remind me what kind of trees were used to do it?

Commenting in hopes that they, or Erin, will remind me, too... Thanks for asking. I was gonna do that but you did the bragging on how amazing it's doing better than me. ❤😃

Erin I love your boxwoods mine turned brown in the middle after 7 years of being in my front yard they were so pretty

Deborah Pellerito you can cut away the brown parts to green wood and they should fill back in, assuming you’re not dealing with something like boxwood blight.

@@TheImpatientGardener Thankyou so much Erin I don't think it's blight

Your garden is beautiful! Love the structure of your garden and always look forward to your videos. I like the look of your compost bins, where can I get one?

I can Spaghetti sauce, zucchini salsa, peach BBQ sauce, plain tomatoes, and tomato jam. So many uses for tomato abundance.
