Highlighting smaller/newer channels would be a great, and characteristically generous :) way to fill your upcoming downtime. I've followed Erin for a while, probably because you mentioned her. Thanks for sharing!
Ha ha ha. Laura's "downtime" after her first baby was less than two weeks, lol. And we're all the more fortunate for her passion for gardening. You can't keep this woman out of her garden, even in January. 🌲🌷🌴🍁🌳
So glad to hear you mention other channels. Shows how passionate and generous you are. So kind of you. I gobble everything up you have to offer. Sometimes I pray for super cold days, so I can watch You Tube garden channels all day.
Love Erin, a master gardener with a sense of humor! Who wouldn't love a gardener trying to save her dahlia tubers at night by headlamp after a snowstorm? Her blog is a wealth of information, I encourage everyone to check it out. I learned about the invasive 'snake worm' from her, didn't know they were in my garden until I read that post, yikes! Funny and informative! Thanks for sharing Laura!
I thoroughly enjoy Erin @theimpatientgardner She is so relatable, as is Laura!! They both are a joy to watch. I have learned so much from both. Thank you both so much!
I love Erin and have been following her for a few years. She is such a real life "tell it like it is" gardener and I love her attitude toward gardening. Roots and Refuge Farm is an excellent channel for home gardeners - vegetable or otherwise.
I’ve been watching Erin for multiple years now. My favorite of her videos are the dahlia videos. I”ll watch those multiple times on how to dig and store but also the different varieties. I bought my first dahlias last year because of her beautiful flowers. My question Laura is how do you always win the bets on games?! She is such a great sport sending you the winning prizes. 🏆 You both are genuine. Love to both of you! 💕
Thanks to Erin, I planted dahlias this year! And thanks to Laura, I planted tulips last year! Both turned out to be the biggest blessing for a year like 2020. It brought me so much happiness.
I was so excited to see this video this morning! I love the Impatient Gardener and have followed her for a while. I hope many of your followers will subscribe to her as well. So much wisdom and passion for the garden. And while I love your videos and have learned so much, it is helpful to also follow a gardener who works full time like me who can give me perspective on what can be done in the evenings and on weekends. I especially appreciated her 10 minute gardening challenge this summer!
I love the impatient gardener. Thanks for highlighting and collaborating together.. you both are wonderful in your own way, your likes and garden design..
You are a special gardener. Your knowledge is abundant..your humor is uplifting and I enjoy every post and video. Your garden is your symphony and you are their maestro..the "music" is beautiful.❤
You and Erin are the best! Thanks for highlighting her channel. I also love Yulia on Y Garden. Maybe a video with her? Between you three amazing gardeners, I am never short of ideas for enhancing the design, maintenance, and functionality of my garden! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
What an awesome idea of showcasing other gardeners! Love watching Erin on her channel, she is knowledgeable and will make you laugh along with her as she shows you the good the bad and the ugly in her garden. Love her analogy of the band and the garden, makes me think a little differently about my own garden. Thank you Laura and Erin.
I’ve been watching Erin for the same length of time and I love her. I’m very impatient myself but gardening requires a certain amount and I love her humor. Thanks
Laura & Aaron truly showing the power of building a community by supporting and highlighting other amazing gardeners, like Erin. What a great to show the beauty of collaboration in the world full of competition.
Oh Laura, you are so correct....similar zones, completely different problem, pests and humidity issues. I am in 9A in California (far Northern) and you are the closet to my zone in terms of wind, extended heat periods, and frost. Your wind and frost are more extreme but my extended heat is more extreme. By watching different channels you/we/ me learn bits of information and inspiration from them all. , all in the love of gardening. Thank you for sharing and being you (and Aaron and Benjamin).
I've watched so MANY of her videos. So generous of you to point us in the direction of other great gardeners. We all learn so much for so many. Thanks so much for sharing! You both are such amazing women to watch and learn from.
This was so fun and I love the idea of sharing some of your favorite sites from around the country. It will help us folks in other planting zones too. Thanks for sharing.
Loved the video-thanks to my two very favorite gardeners- you have both educated and inspired this “crazy old plant lady” for sure I planted dahlias for the first time this year and have fallen in love💜 Thank you both so much!!!💕
Thanks Laura for sharing! I do watch Erin, love her wit and no fuss way of presenting her material. I started watching since you had that bet with her a long time ago.
Laura and Erin are my two favorites! I could watch you every day! I so agree with Erin's choices for hard working plants. I grow all of them, and will add Heuchera Autumn Bride near my Lady's Mantle, Hakonechloa, and Ghost Ferns. It blooms in late summer/fall. Deer resistant too.
Absolutely love this! Big fan of Erin! She has a great collection of plants you wouldn't think of and very helpful! Can't wait to see all the other accounts showcased from big and small!
Aaron I love your channel and I have I am trying to grow ladies mantle. It is an end much sun and I’m worried that it might need more. Could you be more specific about how much sun it really needs. The same with hacking the clover I have probably seven or eight starts of the grass and it’s been is the second year I guess maybe the third year. I love the way they look but they are not growing fast and I’m in five be. Of course my soil is not Sandi and lonely like yours so that could make a difference. I enjoy your vid, love what you did in the pool and love all your choices you helped me a lot with gardening thank you so much.
Laura, that was great! Love hearing about the plants that the deer don't like, plus what a great way to explain plants in your garden and a band. Thank you. Can't wait to use some of them and pass it on to my sisters and their deer problems. Keep it up.
I've found her through you way back watching your videos and follow her too! I am so enthusiastic about mimicking things that work here in Nevada watching you in Oregon, and seeing her plants too that sometimes don't fall in my zone, but I'm ordering all her 5 in march because believe me I Google every single plant you both grow! I've already added my March 12 ( my birthday gift to me) the plants I absolutely need from both yours and her videos, and I pray the pink truffla gomphrena doesn't sell out again next year ! I need my hands on some of those!❤ always thankful for everyone's experinces! Grow on!❤
Thank you for sharing Erin! i instantly subscribed to her, as ive been following her for months on IG but had never seen her YT channel! Would love to see more channels featured, and it’ll give mama a much needed rest I am sure! 🥰❤️
What an excellent analogy Erin gave about the band! I love her channel as much as yours Laura. I love the idea of gardening channels collaborating, and us smaller RUclips gardening channels have already started doing this too! I said in my video today that there are just no ‘social media haters’ in the gardening community and I think that’s because we have such well being from being outside all the time - makes us gardeners so happy, chilled and laid back. I noticed you mentioning doing more collaborations ... so if you’re ever interested!!? I’m in the South East coast of England. Thank you, both you Laura, and Erin, and all the other channels for making this strange year so magical.
I just recently discovered the Enthusiastic Gardener and absolutely love this channel! It’s informative, engaging and the British accent is delightful. Interesting to get an international perspective. Keep up the great work 👍
You both make my day, many days! I am a stressed trial attorney and during the pandemic, I was able to get back into gardening in Michigan. I watch both of you religiously. Thank you both for all that you do! I have learned so much.
I love Erin!!! She’s my type of gardener. She’s a master gardener who holds down full time job (editor for sailing magazine). She has no time for plants that don’t give her joy.
This was great! You and Aaron are so kind and generous ! Who gives away their platform of ONE MILLION subscribers to another youtube gardener?? This is why your work rings true with everyone. You live out your values. I learned a lot and will be watching for more from your favorite online teachers!
For you to look for these people who have way less subscribers than you make a video on your channel Speaks so great of you. Many other channels that I watch (mainly food) have spoken on how chefs don’t collaborate if they don’t have as many or more subscribers than them. Love your channel.
Thank you for sharing this video from The Impatient Gardener, Laura. I started following Erin because you mentioned her in a previous video a while ago. Thank you for that! I really love the both of you and appreciate the different information, knowledge and expertise from each of you.
I love HortTube as well. He’s got some really interesting content that I haven’t seen elsewhere - like how to pick out plants at the nursery, comparisons of similar type plants for a specific purpose, etc. Unfortunately (for me) he gardens in Zone 7, which makes some of the content irrelevant (for me).
I just found HortTube this year, I was doing other things in the house and I heard him say 7B, and I thought how lucky is that since I live in a 7b. Then I really started listening, and based on the way he talked, I thought not only is he 7B, he is from NC, possibly VA. In the next video, he said Raleigh, so yes, I am about 2 hours to the west. He also does questions and answer videos which is really nice.
@@trace9657 Very cool! I’m in zone 9a (formerly 8b) in Gainesville, FL, so it’s challenging to find the right plants for our area since we do get freezes. The struggles of being in north central Florida. 😉 Plus, the nasty clay soil, high Ph, etc. I think Laura and Jim have saved my garden, for sure!
Erin was the first you tube gardener I discovered which lead me to Garden Answer. Erin what a great way to explain your favorite plants by using a band. Music and plants they make my world a happier place.
I follow and enjoy both the impatient gardener and garden answer. I can go to each channel when I want to see each of their content. Laura my vote is to keep the videos about you .
Love Impatient Gardener, I have been following her for about a year after you mentioned her in one of your videos. I like seeing the differences in your gardens even though you garden in the same zone.
