what I love about these Competitions are the different weapon platforms they use.. yeah I know goes back and forth between HKs and FNs but I really love the different variants they bring for ex. US uses the FN MK.20 SSR and the HK 417 but other participants use the HK G28 and M110
This appeared to be a marksmanship competition rather than a sniper competition. A sniper is trained to do far more than simply shoot well, I didn’t see any examples of covert insertion & approach to a guarded target with lookouts, just shooting at varying targets from a number of positions- which is a marksman role but short of what qualifies them as a sniper.
