- It is day 2 of our Alaska Disney Cruise Line adventure and it is a day at sea! We spend the day on board the ship and take part in some trivia, do some shopping and take part in formal night! However there is one aspect of this day that was disappointing to me compared to our last Alaskan cruise.

We did the May 15-22, 2023 Alaska sailing this year (the first one of the season) and we did get the beautiful inside passage sailing all afternoon. Such a bummer that you guys missed that this time, definitely a highlight of the trip!
You guys are lucky! I thought it was something we got every Alaska cruise! But now we know it’s not always guaranteed!
I agree, feeling super lucky now!
I also did this sailing and it was amazing
If anyone is taking a cruise out of Vancouver and they want to guarantee some lovely views, I highly recommend taking a day trip into Victoria via the ferry. The view of the islands is gorgeous and there's always the possibility of seeing whales. Bonus opportunity to book the return trip during sunset. It takes some planning if you are taking a vehicle - if you go on foot, the tickets are really inexpensive and there will always be room for you.
At 19:47 THAT’S MY LITTLE SISTER in character! I’ve watched dozens of 2023 videos hoping to see her…yours was the first! Thank you for providing a preview of the Disney Wonder and its cast. Our family is looking forward to supporting her on the Wonder during our upcoming cruise!
I’m happy I could capture that for you! Enjoy your upcoming cruise!
She was the best part of this video 😊❤
That's awesome! She was our safety muster leader on embarkation day (May 29th sailing!) She was super sweet and my wife and I had a nice conversation with her a few days later while waiting in line to take character photos! 😊
I absolutely love Koda’s dress! The way that it was moving during the pictures was utter perfection!!!!! ❤
🎉 Love your vlogs! It’s completely valid to feel disappointed missing the beautiful passage sights you saw the first Alaska trip, especially when you were so excited to share it with your partner! I hope on your sail back to Canada you squeeze through and have that memory together! 🎉
We had PLENTY of spectacular views the following day and got a taste of the passage on our last day! Thanks for watching!
Ahhh!! Adrian and Koda - you look beautiful for formal night! A little glimpse of how nice you guys will look all cleaned up for your wedding day ❤❤❤
I'm living vicariously through your Alaska series this year!
You guys all look amazing in the formal wear. I love Kodas dress
Thanks so much! It’s rare for us to dress up like that but koda was so excited for the opportunity!
Congrats on that trivia win - that's not easy to do! You all looked fabulous for formal night. (Koda's dress was fab!) Sorry that you didn't get those gorgeous inside passage views - I'd have been a little disappointed too. Glad to hear you got some better views later in the cruise. Can't wait for the next video!
Koda’s dress for formal night was so beautiful❤
Hey do you think you’ll do a complete 3 hour tour of all your cruise video I love watching the whole video at one time
Hi guys! That green dress during formal night… good lord you looked so great in it. Thank you so much for sharing . Looking forward to an Alaska cruise with Disney soon. The planning makes me nervous. You make it look easy with the travel to Canada, hotels ect. 😊💕
Hi Adrian! Your Alaskan cruise vlogs from last year (particularly the inside passage views) are what made us book our Alaskan cruise for this year. We got back last week and are planning to go back next year on a different ship. Really enjoying your vlogs so far!!
Thanks so much for watching! While it a bummer we didn’t get the same views, it’s great to know that those views aren’t guaranteed on all cruises
Same with us! We booked last September and were on this year's May 29th sailing! Was our first cruise anywhere! We already booked next year out of San Diego for the 4-Day Catalina/Ensenada sailing on April 14th, our 30th Anniversary! 😊
Cool! What ship were you on? We were on Celebrity.
@@LeLeM. We were also on the Disney Wonder. We were actually on the sailing before Adrian and met him and Koda in front of Canada Place when we got off that morning and they were getting ready to board! 😄
That is really neat!
great stuff as always Adrian! 👏🏽
We love your videos, they're very informative. If I may say so, please don't whine or complain about small things that don't go your way. You're very fortunate to be able to do these things so often.
Going on my first cruise from Australia later this year…hoping the dry dock refreshes some of those details like lighting, before they get here.
Our Wonder Alaskan voyage is a little over 2 months away! Can’t wait!
Your mum’s face was adorable the entire video and Koda’s formal dress was…WOW! Super jealous of those Chip n Dale medallions.
Congratulations guys on your win
Koda’s dress was 🔥🔥🔥 Loved the packed detail in this vlog & the show!
what a cruise experience! curious if you spent as much time throughout the cruise as you thought you would on your balcony or if you ended up more around to ship doing things and watching the scenery from the public deck. looking at Ocean View vs Balcony room and price diff is quite a bit
Hi guys love your Alaska vlogs! We watched 2022 before we sailed on the Wonder and they were very helpfull! I remember we hit open water on our first sea day as well. So maybe it does happen. Great videos!
Great video! I’m glad you mentioned if you only mention a food item if you don’t like it.
New viewer been watching the Alaskan series, its been great can’t wait for another video. Hoping there is some more amenities included in it like pools, spas, or anything else recreational. I’m sure those spots are packed with young ones but sometimes the inner child wants to come out. Thanks
Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
From Victoria to Queen Charlette islands aka Haida Gwaii, you see mostly just sea. Im guessing the fire on the East side of Vancouver island may be limiting ship passage on the inside. Would have been around the same time June 6th.
I sailed on the Wonder the 2nd cruise of the season this year. We also did the inside passage overnight because we left Vancouver late. I also won villains quote trivia too (and a lot more trivia too)
How late did you leave Vancouver?
We sail on August 14
45 min
A perfect score, congrats!
Kronk!!! Wrong lever!😜💕
I have a Royal Carribbean cruise next month. So im just loving all things cruise! Looks like a nice chilled day looking forward to the next vlog!
It truly was our last chance to relax before jumping into all things Alaska!
just curuous what do you do for work?
Bumner we did the May 2019 sail and got to see the inside passage as well :)
That dessert table looked so good.
They have to update that clip with Bob Iger! That has to be from 20 years ago! 😂 We sail 7 days from now and I cannot wait!
I love how you are quite literally on the opposite side of the continent and yet the cup still says Walt Disney World haha
I love how you have on sandals. I live in florida and feel like I’ll need to wear sandals on board 😂
I need to know where Koda got that green dress - I want to wear it on my next cruise formal night!
Yes I remember the old Animators Palette. I miss it!
Did your mom have the adjoining room with you guys? This cruise looked super fun glad you shared it with us. Too bad they stopped changing the colors on the drawings at animators palette.
We were on the May 29th sailing and had the same thing happen. Day at Sea was not the inside passage and water was pretty rough. Didn't really affect me, but I know lots of people got sick and my wife was feeling nauseous towards dinner time. The dining room at Tiana's was half empty by the time dessert came around!
I was the week before you and we didn't either
Wishing to go on a Disney cruise
I’m going the week after you guys I’m going with 3 to 10
It wouldn't have been pitch black come 2amish. It would have been like a perpetual sunrise/sunset. So much more beautiful at night.
We sail on the Disney wonder Alaska August 14 I didn’t know inside passage was not guaranteed. Also just noticed that glacier viewing it’s called stikine icecap 🤷♀️ is that different from sawyers??
I just don't think cruising is for me. Also your camera has an "anti flicker" setting that will allow you to make adjustment to get rid of the lines produced my LED lights, but I wouldn't worry about it too much if you just doing a few short clips at dinner.
Cruising definitely isn’t for everyone and Alaska cruises aren’t really made for relaxing either. It’s more an adventure cruise. Also I had a few people tell me about the anti flicker. I just didn’t know about it while I was on the ship haha 😅
Hi Adrian! I don’t usually comment on your videos but I always watch them, and I gotta ask, are they playing a piece of the Illuminations soundtrack at 14:37 in the restaurant? The symphony sounds very familiar from what I remember back when it was around!
The music is from the nighttime Fantasmic show they do in Disneyland & Disneyworld. Great show, but it's down in Disneyland right now because the dragon caught on fire during the finale last year.
Sounds like you guys had a very disappointing day.I hope the cruise brings some happy moments on the next video.
Haha don’t worry we had PLENTY of amazing moments the rest of the cruise!
Also, we have watched a lot of your previous videos before, and I honestly thought Koda was your daughter!
Trust me. MANY of our viewers thought she was my daughter lol
Thanks for sharing your experience! Good to know about possibly not seeing the inside passage that day. How long would you say it takes to eat breakfast in MDR?
It took us about an hour. Maybe 50 minutes. Nothing crazy
@@ThemeParkExpress Thanks!
Do you have KC as well
What was the answer to the villains trivia question 1? It’s driving me mental I can’t remember who said that
Jafar
I agree with you. Disney charges a premium for their cruises. You should have a perfection of a time as Walt intended. The fact that the cruise went into the passage in the night is unacceptable. Also, the menu selections should be more premium with local cuisine. Where is the Alaska seafood - the premium salmon, crab legs, halibut, smoked Alaska salmon and local berries in season right now? Alaska has awesome food and everything that you've shown looks like it came from a freezer and was re-heated. Very small portions too.
Unfortunately Disney can’t control the schedule they were given to sail the passage. We just got unlucky. Normally the menus do have Alaska specific options but we’re absent on the first few nights. The food is always really tasty most of the time and even though the portions ARE small, you can order as much as you want! We just wish we had the same views as we did last year
Has Disney Cruise Line changed it's policy against filming their production shows?
This was older footage filmed by Disney not me. You’re still not allowed to record in the theater during showtime
Is Koda your daughter?
😂 that’s his girlfriend I think now his fiancée
Why would you do anything but room service!
We prefer hot foods for breakfast haha 😅 we order room service breakfast on our Ketchikan day!
@@ThemeParkExpress So the room service isn't hot? I guess it takes them time to bring it up. That makes sense.
@@k001daddy They don't have a hot breakfast for room service. It is more of a continental one. They will toast the bagels, English Muffins, and bread. Otherwise, it is juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereals, fruit, bread, and pastries.
@@brooke9939 Oh... ok, that does make sense. Thanks!
They don’t transition the walls in Animator’s Pallet anymore? But like why would they stop this?
Idk why they stopped but I’m so sad that they did! 😥
Be grateful of what you have only you can make a cruise disappointing
We’re always grateful to be on a cruise. We were disappointed that we didn’t get the same day 2 views as we got last time. We still had a great, relaxing day on board the ship
Not sure that is true
How was that disappointing? 😅 I've only seen nice and fun stuff.
I was expecting the same inside passage views we got on our last cruise haha! I thought that was something everyone got on every cruise. I was hoping Koda could see it too. It’s alright tho, we got PLENTY of incredible views the following day! 😁
